German Federal Economy Minister Robert Habeck expressed concern over the looming energy crisis this winter, telling German media that the situation was extremely tense and there is a possibility that Germany may run out of gas.
Other countries in Europe are facing the same kinds of concerns.
Could the coming winter here at home also face gas and fossil fuel shortages that would disrupt our lives?
Most clear thinkers are expressing concern over looming fuel shortages here in the US.
This is a direct result of relativistic, so-called "progressive" ideas and policies.
Be informed, not misled.
The looming energy crisis.
The new price break will cover about 80% of regular consumption. For the remaining 20%, the people will have to pay the full amount. The government hopes this will help incentivize Germans to use less gas to help mitigate the looming shortages.
The government is telling the people, "If everything goes well, and we have a bit of luck with the weather---we will have a chance at getting through the winter comfortably."
"This means, however, the storage facilities will be empty by the end of winter---in this case really empty," officials said.
These words came before last week's reports of suspected sabotage of the Nord Stream 1 and Nord Stream 2 pipelines which, in the case of Nord Stream 1, previously delivered large amounts of gas directly from Russia to Germany.
Now we don't even know whether the pipelines can be fixed at all. Some experts are saying if immediate action isn't taken, saltwater could destroy the insides of the pipes themselves.
Habeck says Germany is facing an "extremely tense situation" ahead of this winter" adding, "if people don't comply and reduce consumption...shortage is likely."
Germany’s economics minister has publicly admitted that much of the nation’s economy has already been reduced to a “burning” fire by the ongoing energy crisis ahead of what is expected to be a cold winter for many in the country.
Could this happen in the U.S.? A good number of experts are concerned. Deeply concerned.
The coming green electricity nightmare.
Yesterday Paul Driessen published an article warning of the growing fraud and deception that is driving the "green" movement---and the nightmare it is creating.
This is part of what he said:
Senator Joe Manchin (D-WV) wanted regulatory reform, in part to reverse some of the Biden Administration's reversals of Trump-era reforms intended to expedite permits for fossil fuel projects.
Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) needed Manchin’s vote in the 50-50 Senate to enact his latest spending extravaganza, the Inflation Reduction Act, which was primarily a massive climate and “green” energy subsidy arrangement. It gives Schumer allies some $370 billion in wind, solar, battery, and other funding, tax credits, and subsidies. In exchange, Schumer would offer a path for Manchin’s reform bill.
Manchin voted YEA and promptly got bushwhacked. Once he’d helped enact the IRA, he had zero leverage. Schumer, he discovered, had promised an opportunity, maybe a vote, but not actual support. House and Senate members told him, we weren’t part of your secret negotiations with Schumer; we didn’t shake hands on any deal; we don’t want easier permitting for drilling, pipelines, and LNG terminals that could help send US natural gas to Britain and Europe.
The Wall Street Journal turned on the light to the fraud and deception that is woven into the fabric of this so-called "green" movement.
They noted that "In the end, it’s probably a good thing Manchin’s bill went nowhere."
The WSJ said, "Yes, it provided some much-needed and long overdue reforms to curb the paralysis by analysis and endless litigation that have plagued fossil fuels, highways, airports, and countless other projects for decades."
"But," they continued, "it also had Trojan horse provisions that would have unleashed hordes of newly subsidized wind, solar, and transmission marauders on much of the Lower 48 USA, to send pseudo-clean electricity to mostly Democrat cities and states that don’t want even 'renewable' power generation in their backyards."
Wind and sunshine are free, clean, green, renewable, and sustainable. But harnessing this diffuse, unreliable, weather-dependent energy to power civilization is not.
The Green People and their "progressive legislator" friends think they can just pass laws and earmark subsidies, demanding energy transformation by 2050---and it will just happen.
So the "Green New Deal" is a fraud, it isn't science, and many of our public servants on the Left are probably enriching themselves and their cronies. While believing none of their actions will have any destructive consequences.
The Bible says, "There is a way that seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death" (Proverbs 14:12).
Certainly, that is true spiritually. It is equally true culturally.
Progressivism and consequences.
He has also written a number of books and home school materials.
He makes this observation:
The political left today identifies as “progressive.” Whether it is the redefinition of marriage or the push for more government programs, the left considers their policies to bring “progress.” But is this really progress?
Considering that most of the left’s policies are destroying civilization, a better adjective would be "regressive." Family is the cornerstone of civilization, yet the left attacks the family from every angle. This includes the redefinition of marriage to comprise of two people who cannot biologically reproduce, as well as the legal protection of baby-murder factories and their identification as women's "health" clinics. And of course, the high taxes of the left's welfare state also make it difficult for people to live, let alone afford children.
The term "regressive" is also fitting because of our culture's regress towards ancient paganism, particularly in the realm of sexual ethics. (Think ancient fertility cults.) The left has priestesses ready to defend their sacrament of child sacrifice, which they offer to the gods of personal autonomy.
Garris writes about the devastating effect progressivism is having on our public schools, with some instructors identifying as "Marxist."
Unfortunately, he says, parents continue to put their children into that environment.
He says, "It's hard to avoid the conclusion that the progressive Left is actually evil. They have hijacked schools and universities in order to influence young people, teaching them to reject Christian ethics in favor of godless relativism."
He notes that the progressives control not only education, but the media, entertainment, and the culture itself---together these institutions are churning out "social justice warriors."
Takeaway.
Dr. Garris concludes with these positive words:
The good news is that there is a significant dissent against progressivism. The average American is tired of progressive ideology. It is irrational and impractical. A good example of this is the current gender confusion, where we now have boys competing in girls' leagues because a boy identifies as a "girl."
But more than this, progressivism is cruel. Progressives don’t play nice. They force their new views on others, even when their view is a minority view. And then they call you a bigot for holding the views that humans have held for all of history (and progressives have only held for a few years!).
The progressives appear to be the majority because they are the loudest. Traditionalists are quieter and mind their own business. They go to work, marry, and raise children. Traditionalists don’t have time for nonsense. But progressives are not the majority. They only have a majority in the media and in certain fields like academia. Hence the current polarization in America.
Thankfully, there is a strong pushback against progressivism, and it is growing through non-mainstream Internet outlets. We can only hope such resistance doesn’t back down. But just as the majority of Americans have lost trust in the mainstream media, we must hope that they lose trust in the modern education system. As long as we continue to send our children to progressive government schools and universities, we will continue to lose the battle. We must abandon the system and take back our children. We must opt for homeschooling and private schools, and we must support faithful institutions along with starting new ones.
The time has come. We must choose a better way.
