Author and evangelist Anne Graham Lotz has penned a prayer for the future of America and the nation’s youth that has quickly gone viral.

Tearfully she says, “We are in a spiritual and moral free fall.”

National polls confirm she's right.

However actor and writer Kirk Cameron — while conducting his 10th storybook event across America at a library in Cherry Hill, New Jersey on Saturday, April 29 — said he became "emotional and began to cry tears of gratitude and hope" when he heard some of the families start singing and worshiping God on their own as they waited in line for space at the event.

Tears over America.

We're living in historic times.

Be informed, not misled.

Tears of concern.

Author and evangelist Anne Graham Lotz, daughter of Billy and Ruth Graham,  has penned a prayer for the future of America and the nation’s youth that quickly went viral and drew hundreds of comments of appreciation.

“We are in a spiritual and moral free fall,” Lotz wrote in the prayer on her social media accounts.

She wrote: "God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, You have been our dwelling place throughout the generations. Your faithfulness, Your fame, Your promises, Your covenant, Your authority, and Your glory continue year after year, decade after decade, century after century, millennium after millennium. You have not changed since the beginning. Your Word is forever settled."

As I consider my generation—and the ones that follow— I am appalled.

We are in a spiritual and moral free fall. A great darkness of lies, unbelief, ignorance, and evil covers the world. People are living as though You do not exist. I shudder to think of what future generations will face, the generations of my children and grandchildren. Unless they rebuild the foundation of authentic faith, our nation will crumble. It is crumbling now.

In the midst of political turmoil, racial division, social upheaval, financial uncertainty, virus pandemics, and worldwide chaos, I earnestly pray for my children and grandchildren....

Redeem my parenting mistakes and failures. Help my children and grandchildren overcome the consequences of my sins. Keep them from falling away from You into sin. I long to see them one day presented before Your glorious presence without fault and with great joy. On that day, I will humbly bow and worship You for Your goodness, grace, and faithfulness to all generations.

For the glory of Your great name—Jesus,

Amen.

America is indeed in a moral free fall.

According to the CDC, teens who identify as LGBTQ have skyrocketed.

One in four high school students in the United States identify as homosexual, bisexual, or questioning their sexuality, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

The latest edition of the CDC’s Youth Risk Behavior Surveillance System found that 74.2% of high school students claimed to be exclusively attracted to the opposite sex in 2021.

Of the remaining participants, 11.9% identified as bisexual, 3.2% as gay or lesbian, and 9% as “other/questioning.”

The intense, relentless indoctrination in public classrooms, coupled with activists, is producing results.

LGBTQ identification has doubled in the past 10 years.

Data compiled by Gallup, released in February, showed that the share of the American population identifying as LGBTQ had doubled over the past decade, driven by a large share of Generation Z categorizing themselves as something “other” than heterosexual.

Every parent should make Anne's prayer their own.

Tears of Joy

Actor and writer Kirk Cameron — while conducting his 10th storybook event across America at a library in Cherry Hill, New Jersey on Saturday, April 29 — said he became "emotional and began to cry tears of gratitude and hope" when he heard some of the families start singing and worshiping God on their own as they waited in line for space at the event.

You may recall that initially, public libraries across the nation refused to allow Cameron to conduct readings of his Christian-oriented children's books.

However, after his publisher threatened a lawsuit, the libraries are now welcoming him.

Given the "overflow" crowd that showed up on Saturday to greet him, according to Cameron and his publisher Brave Books, some families couldn't immediately "get into the library for lack of space."

As a result, they began singing on their own as they waited their turn.

"When the overflow group of families… started their own worship service — think beautiful voices of children and strong declarations from moms and dads, hands raised, singing sacred songs of thankfulness and praises to God — filling the lobby, the staircase and expanding into the upper room [of the two-story library], I got emotional and began to cry," Cameron says.

He added that he cried "tears of gratitude and hope. Songs of courage and resolve."

He also declared, "God’s not finished with America."

Cameron is advocating to America that we've got to get "back to basics" which includes "loving our country, practicing our faith, and putting our families first."

"Freedom is a rare and precious gift," he also said.

Takeaway

As it turned out, Kirk Cameron was joined by journalist John Solomon and musician Sean Feucht.

The crowd was so large they had to hold three story hours. The library staff was gracious and helpful.

The publisher said, "While families waited for their chance to get in for the story hour, John, Kirk, and Sean each took turns addressing the crowd waiting outside the meeting room."

It added, "Kirk was brought to tears as he was worshiping with the crowd seeing how many families came out in support."

Feucht, a Christian singer and musician who conducted "The Kingdom to the Capitol" tour recently, said, "I leave the New Jersey public library full of hope and expectation that if parents are standing up here in the Northeast, then parents are going to stand up anywhere all across America."`

I believe they can---and will.

As I was writing this article, I found myself unable to hold back the tears. Tears for what some in our country are doing to our children. And tears of joy for what I see happening in response.

Be Informed. Be Vigilant. Be Courageous. Be Engaged. Be Prayerful.
