As the number of verified information mounts regarding the Biden family "business," more conservatives are asking why the Republicans have not initiated impeachment of the president.
The facts are staggering.
Speaker Kevin McCarthy explains.
Be informed, not misled.
McCarthy mentions "impeachment," but half the country doesn't know about "big guy" or shell companies. Yet.
American Family News says, "Liberal media outlets often reveal their bias beyond the headlines by avoiding some issues altogether, and the Biden bribery scandal unfolding right now is a sad but fitting example of it."
By now, at least among conservatives, the allegation “the big guy” is Joe Biden who gets 10% of Hunter Biden’s overseas business deals is scandalous news. In more recent months, now that Republicans retook the House, a GOP-led committee announced in May that bank records show $10 million flowed through 20 overseas shell companies and landed in the bank accounts of nine Biden family members. That movement of money from unscrupulous, wealthy businessmen is a textbook example of money laundering but Democrats sat on the damning bank records for years.
You likely know that an FBI informant document was released alleging a Ukrainian businessman gave the Biden father and son $5 million each, and IRS whistleblowers are describing a political coverup in which they were punished for speaking out and not playing along while their bosses protected Hunter Biden.
At the same time IRS whistleblowers were describing a cover-up to protect the Biden family, a watchdog group said this week that the evidence keeps growing that our current president is a corrupt politician compromised by China.
Tim Graham of the Media Research Center tells AFN the Biden family allegations are getting “very serious” now that congressional Republicans are pursuing the truth and right-leaning news outlets are reporting their findings.
Graham notes that "When a Republican is a president and a scandal breaks, Graham says, MRC documents what he calls “bias by commission,” which is when the news media crazily jumps all over the accusations but leaves little room for defense or denial to balance the story."
"When a Democrat is president," he says, "the media commits 'bias by omission' by leaving out standard facts and jumps straight to the denial."
The once-respected Associated Press gave an example of “bias by omission” in May. When Republicans held their press conference to describe the money-laundering allegations, the AP story did not make it clear that the allegation was made at a press conference with placards describing the money flow. The story briefly quoted only one Republican who spoke, committee chairman James Comer, and it wasn’t even clear in their story that he made his comments at a press conference.
Even worse, the AP story said the GOP lawmakers were making accusations “without evidence” – as if bank records and fake companies are not evidence.
So far, the news media's reaction is to try not to touch it.
Yesterday was pivotal.
CNN speculated, "Hunter Biden’s former business partner Devon Archer is meeting behind closed doors Monday with the House Oversight Committee on Capitol Hill, the latest development in the Republican-led investigations into the president’s son."
Archer’s testimony comes as House Republicans appear to be shifting their focus away from trying to impeach members of President Joe Biden’s Cabinet and prioritizing efforts to impeach the president himself by linking him to controversial business dealings by his son, Hunter.
And they are doing so with the apparent support of Speaker Kevin McCarthy, CNN recently reported. As a result, House investigations related to Hunter Biden are now expected to take center stage as Republicans continue to try to link the president to his son’s controversial business dealings.
Today, and in the coming days, we will learn what Archer told the Over Sight Committee.
McCarthy has said that launching an impeachment inquiry "would unleash the full power of the House to turn over critical information, mirroring an argument advanced by House Democrats when they impeached then-President Donald Trump in 2019."
Insiders say McCarthy has been consulting with former House GOP Speaker Newt Gingrich on the issue.
And he has warmed up to the idea of going after the president rather than members of his Cabinet. In recent weeks, he delivered his most explicit threat yet to Biden, saying, "House Republicans’ investigations into the Biden family’s business deals appear to be rising to the level of an impeachment inquiry."
Over the weekend, the Justice Department submitted a new request asking a judge to schedule a date for Archer to surrender to prison and begin serving out his one-year sentence resulting from a conviction in an unrelated fraud case, according to court filings.
Many see this action as a threat from Biden's Department of Justice, letting Archer know he better be careful what he says.
House Oversight Chairman James Comer told Fox News Sunday that the timing of the DOJ’s letter is “odd.”
The Biden Family "business" seems "odd" to most ordinary people.
Thomas Jefferson said, "Who will govern the governors? There is only one force in the nation that can be depended upon to keep the government pure and the governors honest, and that is the people themselves."
He also said, "Unless the mass retains sufficient control over those entrusted with the powers of their government, these will be perverted to their own oppression, and to the perpetuation of wealth and power in the individuals and their families selected for the trust."
