America Expects Violence Regardless Of Who Wins Election

A week before Election Day, roughly half of voters expect violence when it's over---no matter who wins the White House.

The latest Rasmussen survey finds that 51% of likely US voters believe it's likely there will be a violent reaction if Vice President Kamala Harris is elected, including 26% who say such a reaction is "very likely."

However, 47% also think a violent reaction is likely if former President Trump wins, including 23% who say violence is "very likely" to follow a Trump victory.

Either way, Americans are expecting violence.

The violence has already begun in Washington State and Oregon.

Be informed, not misled.

Violence in Washington State

Hundreds of ballots in Washington state were damaged after authorities reported that a Vancouver ballot drop box was burned in a Monday morning arson.

The Clark County Elections box located at the Fisher’s Landing Transit Center was “lit on fire this morning,” KATU News reporter Evan Bell said on X with a video of first responders extinguishing a flaming pile of ballots.

Clark County Auditor Greg Kimsey said hundreds of ballots were inside the box at the time of the fire, though it is not immediately clear how many may have been damaged.

It was later learned that most all of them were damaged.

“KATU was told there were likely only a few that could be saved,” the outlet reported.

Vancouver Police released the following statement:

This morning at about 4:00 a.m., Vancouver Police responded to an arson at a ballot box located at 3510 SE 164th Ave. It was reported that the ballot box was smoking and on fire. Officers arrived and located a suspicious device next to the box. The ballot box was smoking and was on fire. Members of the Metro Explosive Disposal Unit (MEDU) arrived and safely collected the device, and the fire was extinguished. Detectives from the Vancouver Police Arson team and the Vancouver Fire Marshals also responded.

The FBI is continuing the investigation of this incident.

The FBI gave this statement regarding the arson:

"The FBI is coordinating with federal, state and local partners to actively investigate the two incidents in Vancouver, Washington, and Portland, Oregon, in the early morning hours of Monday, October 28th to determine who is responsible."

Violence in Portland, OR.

Just a few hours earlier, Portland police had responded to an arson at a SE Portland ballot box.

Investigators say that an incendiary device was set off inside the box, causing a fire. The fire was extinguished, and investigators later stated only 3 ballots had been damaged.

KATU news reported, "An investigation is underway after an incendiary device was discovered attached to a ballot box in Portland early Monday morning."

By the time officers arrived, security personnel in the area had already extinguished the fire.

Multnomah County later said a fire suppressant inside the ballot box protected virtually all the ballots, and only three ballots suffered damage.

In a noon press release, police stated they believed the Monday morning arson incidents in Portland and Vancouver were connected.

“We don’t know the motive behind these acts,” Portland Police Bureau (PPB) Assistant Chief Amanda McMillan said in a statement. “We do know acts like this are targeted and they are intentional and we’re concerned about that intentional act trying to impact the election process. We’re dedicated to stopping this kind of behavior.”

The Police Department added, "It was a “black or dark-colored 2001-2004 Volvo S-60” without a front license plate and an unknown rear plate.

The press says they, too, are getting ready to protect you.

The "readiness" of the press may be the more significant threat.

The Associated Press says

As news outlets get ready for election night, they’re not only focusing on what happens. They’re keeping watch over what doesn’t.

Several plans to combat misinformation are in place across newsrooms that will follow the climax of a hard-fought campaign on Nov. 5. The Associated Press and others will take special steps to explain what they do. The New York Times is assigning reporters to comb the Internet for the first sign of new conspiracies. An NPR reporter will look for mischief created by artificial intelligence. ABC News has tried “pre-bunks” to prepare its viewers.

False stories that infected the political debate after Hurricane Helene this fall were a sobering reminder of how quickly things can spread.

“The biggest thing that I tend to worry about is the speed with which misinformation travels and the lack of control that a news organization — any news organization — has over that,” said Julie Pace, executive editor and senior vice president of The Associated Press.

So, each of the several news organizations has its own censorship assignments.

It's troubling when the news media sees its role as a protector rather than merely a provider of unbiased news reporting.

Censorship is the last gasp of freedom.

I'm reminded of the fox who wants to protect the hen house.

No one in America is unaware the news media is corrupted by their undying support for the secular Left "progressive" movement.

So-called journalists are quitting their jobs because owner Jeff Bezos told his Washington Post newspaper they would not be publicly endorsing Kamala Harris for president.

The legacy news media is not the arbiter of truth.

They have devolved to becoming merely a voice for the left.

Pace says, “The only thing that we can do is make sure that we are filling the space with fact-based information that is as fast and as accurate as humanly possible, to try to ensure that as misinformation is traveling, fact-based reporting is as well.”

But is their "fact-based" reporting fact-based?

Fox says, "Coverage on ABC, CBS, and NBC News of the presidential race between former President Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris has been the most 'lopsided in history,' a new study released one week before the election found."

They're right. Analysis from the Media Research Center (MRC) published Monday found that Harris has received 78% positive coverage on broadcast evening news since July, versus Trump, who has received 85% negative coverage on the same networks.

According to MRC analysts, the difference in coverage between the two candidates is far greater than in 2016, when both Trump and then-challenger Hillary Clinton received mostly negative coverage [91% negative for Trump, vs. 79% negative for Clinton].

This month, Gallup reported that only a meager 31% of Americans — and just 12% of Republicans — said they had either “a great deal” or “a fair amount” of trust in the media’s ability to report the news “fully, accurately and fairly.”

Obviously, there's good reason for the mistrust.

The Media Research Center article is in-depth and excellent. I suggest you read it. It's very informative.

Takeaway

MRC concludes, "So if Donald Trump regains the White House next week, the media’s campaign against him will have accomplished nothing except the further erosion of their own reputations."

For this report, MRC analysts reviewed all 660 stories about the presidential campaign that aired on ABC, CBS, or NBC evening newscasts from July 21 (the day President Biden ended his candidacy) through October 25, including weekends. Total coverage totaled 24 hours 15 minutes, almost evenly divided among the three networks: 8 hours 20 minutes on NBC, 8 hours 13 minutes on CBS, and 7 hours 42 minutes on ABC.

The bottom line: 78% positive for Harris. 85% negative for Trump.

And they plan to protect you from "misinformation" on Election Day and beyond.

Beware.

Some thoughts about the Truth:

The truth is self-expressed by God and is constant with His character, will, and being. The Bible also teaches that knowing the truth can set people free. Here are some Bible verses that discuss truth:

  • John 8:32: "And you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free."
  • 2 Timothy 2:14-26: Paul discusses the importance of truth and how Christians should believe in Christ, live out the truth, and teach it.
  • 2 Timothy 3:7: Discusses how some people are always learning but never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.
  • 1 Timothy 2:3-6: Discusses how God wants all people to come to a knowledge of the truth.
