By now, the world knows that Ukrainian President Zelensky made a very bad call when he chose to create an argument with President Trump and Vice President Vance on camera as the world watched.
A prominent Ukrainian lawmaker declared it was “absolute idiocy” for President Volodymyr Zelensky to openly argue with U.S. President Donald Trump in front of the world during their Oval Office meeting on Friday.
Is Zelensky that uninformed to confront the President of the United States and demand what the US should and should not do regarding Ukraine when they desperately need our support?
Or was there another agenda in play?
Be informed, not misled.
Oleksiy Goncharenko, a member of the Verkhovna Rada parliament in Kyiv, lamented that Ukraine’s relationship with President Trump came to an “end” on Friday after a heated White House meeting in which President Zelensky was accused of being “disrespectful” to the U.S. leader and the American people.
Goncharenko wrote on Facebook that it was “absolute idiocy to start ARGUING with the President of the United States in front of the cameras,” adding that “it can be done and probably should be done, but not in front of cameras.”
The Ukrainian MP, who sits with the European Solidarity bloc of former Ukraine President Petro Poroshenko in the parliament, warned that Zelensky’s behavior on Friday could have “very bad consequences” for Ukraine.
He said that such consequences could include a potential shutdown of Elon Musk’s Starlink internet access to the Ukrainian armed forces or even an end to Washington sharing intelligence with Kyiv, both of which have been critical for Ukraine in its war with Russia.
The Ukrainian lawmaker added, “Zelensky has put millions of people at risk, and it’s madness.”
The fallout from Zelensky’s disastrous meeting with President Trump on Friday has not been contained to the political sphere, with critiques also reportedly coming from the Ukrainian military. Time Magazine has cited an unnamed colonel in the Ukrainian armed forces in Kyiv who, upon seeing the news of the meeting, said: “Well done… He pushed back, you have to respect that… But now we’re (f) 'expletive.'"
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy's visit to the White House on Friday was such a disaster that Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) and co-host Ben Ferguson put out an emergency podcast saying that Zelenskyy "does not politically survive this."
President Zelenskyy had an epic meltdown in the Oval Office—he crashed and burned.

This will go down as one of the most disastrous Oval Office meetings in our nation’s history.

President Donald Trump has been striving for weeks for negotiations to end the Russo-Ukrainian war, which began three years ago this week under the particularly weak Biden-Harris administration. However, Zelenskyy was brash and rude and has been invited to return when he is ready for peace.
Even a Washington Post journalist agreed with Trump.
CNN’s Scott Jennings was spot-on again. On Laura Coates Live, Jennings said that all Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky had to do was wear a suit, sign a minerals deal, eat lunch, and that’s it. The United States is the only partner they have who can drag them out of this mess of a war that’s remained stagnant for months. A peace deal/ceasefire is the only way out—Ukraine isn’t getting its original territory back. We’re also not bankrolling this quagmire anymore.
Washington Post’s Josh Rogin had a shocking response: he couldn’t agree more with what Jennings said, which he admitted might get him roasted on social media. It’s surprising in the sense that the people sitting opposite of Jennings usually get turned into sashimi with weak talking points and liberal insanity. Not here.
Zelensky terribly misread the room.
The United Kingdom and France are now working together to form a “Coalition of the Willing” to craft a peace plan for Ukraine, which they intend to present to President Donald Trump. The move comes as both European nations seek to address the ongoing conflict between Ukraine and Russia and anticipate the potential shift in U.S. foreign policy under Trump’s leadership. Western leaders hope to revive a peace deal with tensions rising between the U.S. and Ukraine.
Yesterday, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer announced that the UK and France are prepared to send troops to Ukraine as peacekeepers. However, other European nations, including Italy, Germany, and Poland, have rejected the proposal.
“In other words, we've got to find those countries in Europe that are prepared to be a bit more forward-leaning," Starmer told BBC Television. “The UK and France are the most advanced on the thinking of this and that is why President Macron and I are working on this plan, which we will then discuss with the U.S.”
Takeaway
As Ferguson reminded to paint the scene on his and Cruz's podcast, the "pretense for this meeting" with Zelenskyy "was to get a deal and to work a deal for peace." He was also there to sign a rare minerals agreement between the United States and Ukraine.
Referencing clips of the meeting that have gone viral, the senator offered his own reaction, which is that "President Zelenskyy showed up in the Oval Office and decided he was there to battle Donald Trump, decided he was there to insult Donald Trump, decided he was there to attack and belittle Donald Trump," Cruz pointed out, going for an even stronger and more consequential reaction from there. "And without exaggeration, I believe this will go down as the most disastrous Oval Office meeting in the history of our nation," he added, prompting a "wow" from Ferguson.
"Zelenskyy had one job," the senator also reminded, going on to offer an apt analysis of what happened with Zelenskyy. "His one job was to go there and to try to get the President's support for a peace that leaves his country in a good and strong position. That was his entire mission. And he apparently decided that he knew better than everyone else."
Psalm 2:1-6 says, "Why do the heathen rage, And the people imagine a vain thing? The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, Against the LORD, and against his anointed, saying, Let us break their bands asunder, And cast away their cords from us. He that sitteth in the heavens shall laugh: The Lord shall have them in derision. Then shall he speak unto them in his wrath, And vex them in his sore displeasure. Yet have I set my king upon my holy hill of Zion."
