Islam to Become Second Largest Religion in America

CNN has reported that the Muslim population is growing, and in the next two decades, Muslims could become the second-largest religious group in the United States, according to a Pew Research study.

That was in 2018. And it's not the whole story.

Muslim expansion in America is not merely through migration from other countries. It is through targeted, direct proselytizing.

In a video that has gone viral, Florida-based imam Muhammad Musri is preaching to an audience of fellow Muslims who are listening to his first-hand report from Florida. In a clip of the sermon, Musri describes how Islam is spreading in Florida and will eventually convert the Sunshine State.

Be informed, not misled.

CNN was quoting Pew Research Center studies they conducted in 2007, 2011, and 2017, with yearly data from the US Census (which does not track religious affiliation) to put together a portrait of the future of Muslims in America.

According to their data, the Muslim population is growing at an accelerated rate and will more than double from an estimated 3.45 million in 2017 to an estimated 8.1 million in 2050. In the meantime, Muslims are expected to surpass Jews as the second-largest religious group.

Pew also reported back then that "There is another factor as well. On average, the Muslim population is younger than other religious groups, which means they have a higher fertility rate."

Fast forward to the present. Now there is yet another factor.

Proselytizing

In a video, Florida-based imam Muhammad Musri preaches to an audience of fellow Muslims listening to his first-hand report from Florida. In a clip of the sermon, Musri describes how Islam is spreading in Florida and will eventually convert the Sunshine State.

“We bought three churches so far, and now we have one we are buying with a school,” Musri, speaking  English, informs the audience.

Explaining why that matters, the imam says the West “invaded” Muslim countries a century ago, and turned its Islamic schools and mosques into “missionary schools” to spread Christianity.

“Today, we bring the favor back,” Musri, speaking calmly, says, “and turned their churches into mosques.”

The controversial imam made the comments in 2024 to an audience of fellow Muslims in San Francisco, according to the watchdog group MEMRI.

MEMRI has also captured other messages from the internet and translated what he is saying.

American Family News says a video from 2020 shows Musri being invited by a Florida State Senator to pray.  "The opening prayer this morning was given by Imam Muhammad Musri, Islamic Society of Central Florida, Orlando, sponsored by the Senator of the 13th District, Senator Stewart.

Musri says, “If you want members of Congress to support you, teach them Islam – once they become Muslim, they will be on your side.”

He says, "They received the words of Allah, but they changed them."

"The infiltration of Western societies by radical Islamists continues unopposed," he says.

Thanks to the reach of the Internet, Musri’s comments – and his message about Islam conquering Christianity – have gone viral on social media.

Minnesota-based Bible teacher Jan Markell tells American Family that what's going on, “is probably what they call ‘civilization jihad,’ because they're trying to turn parts of America, turn it into Somalia.”

Minnesota's Somali population is credited with the election of Ilhan Omar, the Somali-born congresswoman, who represents the state's 5th Congressional District.

Rep. Omar was most recently in the news for cursing a reporter for The Daily Caller. In February, Omar was caught advising illegal aliens in her district how to avoid deportation.

Even though many Muslims might insist they want to practice their faith in peace, and in private, Musri’s message carries a starkly different tone. Not only does he view converting a church to a mosque and school as revenge for the past, but he also views non-Muslims, including children, as future converts to Islam.

“People who are part of that community, one day they will be Muslims,” Musri states.

Markell calls that an invasion, rather than conversion, and she says Americans are an easy target because of our culture that embraces diversity and inclusion.

Colonizing.

On April 7, 2025, we published an article asking, "Muslim City To Be Built Within US?" I would encourage you to read it. It should be deeply concerning.

In it, we explained the latest move by Muslims in America to colonize within this country.

I noted that "Republican Texas Gov. Greg Abbott announced Tuesday that the East Plano Islamic Center (EPIC) could not begin construction on a proposed Muslim neighborhood due to legal issues, according to a press release.
EPIC has proposed building a Muslim ‘city’ on 402 acres of land in Texas, the organization labeled “EPIC City,” according to Newsweek. The proposal includes building over 1,000 homes, a school based on the Islamic religion, a college, a mosque, and retail operations.

Texas authorities have begun an investigation in response to the project.

Newsweek says, "Texas Governor Greg Abbott has insisted 'Sharia law is not allowed in Texas' in response to proposals for a new Islamic-themed town near Josephine, around 40 minutes from Dallas."

That is the tipping point. Sharia law cannot be allowed to rule in the United States, and that's exactly what they have in mind for their new "EPIC" colony.

Takeaway

On October 11, 1798, John Adams wrote to the Massachusetts Militia:

"Because we have no Government armed with Power capable of contending with human Passions unbridled by morality and Religion. Avarice, Ambition, Revenge, or Gallantry, would break the strongest Cords of our Constitution as a Whale goes through a Net. Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other."

The "Religion" Adams was talking about was Christianity, not Islam.

Today, we ask the question: Are we still a moral and religious people? Can we stand against evil?

Eph. 6:13: "Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand."
