Republican House Rep Wants to See God’s Design for Families Celebrated in June

Representative Mary Miller (R-Illinois) plans to put forward a resolution on June 10 to formally declare June as "Family Month", hoping to muscle its way into a spring spotlight currently dominated by the LGBTQ community.

This resolution is supported by organizations such as the American Family Project and the Family Research Council and co-sponsored by other Republican representatives, including Michael Cloud of Texas and Harriet Hageman of Wyoming.

As the public is learning about Miller's plan, they are getting behind her resolution.

John Adams, the second U.S. president, is often quoted for his summary of the Constitution. Miller believes it's applicable to U.S. recognition of the family as well.

“Our constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other.” Morality and virtue are the foundation of our republic and necessary for a society to be free."

June, as a month to celebrate LGBTQ “Pride,” has been an agenda item of Democratic presidents. It was first designated by Bill Clinton in 1999 and later pushed by Barack Obama and Joe Biden.

Especially Biden. You will remember he draped both the Capitol and the White House with LGBTQ and "trans' flags at the expense of focus on our own US flag.

You will recall: He had their back.

It is time for a change, Miller says.

A member of the Congressional Family Caucus, she is promoting legislation that advocates and strengths the foundation of God’s chosen family structure. She spoke with Tony Perkins on Washington Watch about the overturn of Pride month and the stance of traditional marriage values.

“Sadly, the Left hijacked June to present perversion and to cause gender confusion and basically to give license for individuals to be in indecent in public. I'm taking it back for the American family,” Miller states.

She expects pushback to her resolution, but continues on with God’s purpose of marriage in mind.

“I always think people are where they are. We want to lay out that God's ways are perfect, and we want to make getting married and having children a beautiful thing,” Miller says.

Consequences have arisen because of continuous promotion of the left-wing agenda.

Indeed, they have. We are raising a generation of kids who are being taught that the LGBTQ lifestyle is normal, gender is fluid, and they can decide if they want to be a boy or a girl or something in between.

While surgeons are standing by to perform their 60 to 80 thousand dollar surgeries.

“The consequences of the Biden administration spending four years promoting this kind of indecent Pride stuff is that young people don't want to get married and that the birth rate is dropping,” Miller said.

That is why it is so important for traditional families to be highlighted.

“We need to exalt the family to the place that it needs to be. It was faith and family that built our country,” Miller declares.

This year has seen a significant decrease in support for Pride from different organizations, particularly major U.S. corporations.

I've talked about that on our daily radio program.

“I think people are really done with the Pride Month. I don't know how they ever got an entire month,” Miller said.

They got an entire month because they are persistent, move their agenda incrementally, and never give up.

These setbacks for the LGBTQ movement result from the Trump administration’s effort to diminish Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion practices. Companies have also noticed an increase in consumers wanting to see less "Pride." Fear of economic backlash has prompted these companies and others—such as Target—to step back from LGBTQ activism and remove their brands from pride merchandise and promotional tools. 

Even the Education Department has already declared June as “Title IX Month” because it is the 53rd anniversary since the legislation was passed, further showing a shift away from LGBTQ ideology and celebration.

Family Research Council has published 10 Reasons to Oppose so-called "Same Sex Marriage:"

The following are ten science-based arguments against same-sex "marriage." Each of the 10 reasons includes more information related to that reason in the link above.

  1. Children hunger for their biological parents.
  2. Children need fathers.
  3. Children need mothers.
  4. Evidence on parenting by same-sex couples is inadequate.
  5. Evidence suggests children raised by homosexuals are more likely to experience gender and sexual disorders.
  6. Same-sex "marriage" would undercut the norm of sexual fidelity within marriage.
  7. Same-sex "marriage" would further isolate marriage from its procreative purpose.
  8. Same-sex "marriage" would further diminish the expectation of paternal commitment.
  9. Marriages thrive when spouses specialize in gender-typical roles.
  10. Women and marriage domesticate men.

Each of these is worth reading. 

Takeaway

Let the truth be heard.

Christians need to start speaking the truth instead of remaining silent on these issues, as they have in recent years.

“I think it's because, generally, Christians really care about people, and they don't want to hurt people's feelings but going along with a lie is not loving a person. So, we do need to speak the truth,” Miller says.

She says, "God’s ways are perfect, and that extends to his plans for marriage."  

“He's the one who designed marriage to be between a man and a woman who are committed to each other for life and who welcome children. I know from having seven children that it's a lot of work, but things that are valuable cost more.”
