Trump Targets Election Fairness

President Trump on Monday announced he will turn his attention to election integrity and will sign an executive order aimed at eliminating mail-in ballots and voting machines in the 2026 midterm elections. 

"I am going to lead a movement to get rid of MAIL-IN BALLOTS, and also, while we’re at it, Highly 'Inaccurate,' Very Expensive, and Seriously Controversial VOTING MACHINES, which cost Ten Times more than accurate and sophisticated Watermark Paper, which is faster, and leaves NO DOUBT, at the end of the evening, as to who WON, and who LOST, the Election," he wrote on Truth Social.

There will be more than a few folks on the Left who will resist this effort.

Be informed, not misled.

"We are now the only Country in the World that uses Mail-In Voting," the president continued, arguing it's been ditched because of voter fraud. 

He also warned in all-caps that the effort will be "strongly opposed by the Democrats because they cheat at levels never seen before." 

Then the president said this: "Remember, the States are merely an 'agent' for the Federal Government in counting and tabulating the votes," he said. "They must do what the Federal Government, as represented by the President of the United States, tells them, FOR THE GOOD OF OUR COUNTRY, to do."

That statement will arouse the Left.

Trump posted this on social media.

Politico, a favorite of the Left, published yesterday, "President Donald Trump on Monday railed against mail-in voting and vowed to 'lead a movement' to eliminate the practice ahead of the 2026 midterms."

“ELECTIONS CAN NEVER BE HONEST WITH MAIL IN BALLOTS/VOTING, and everybody, IN PARTICULAR THE DEMOCRATS, KNOWS THIS,” he wrote on Truth Social. “I, AND THE REPUBLICAN PARTY, WILL FIGHT LIKE HELL TO BRING HONESTY AND INTEGRITY BACK TO OUR ELECTIONS.”

Politico continued, "Trump has for years opposed mail-in ballots, insisting that they played a role in voter fraud he baselessly claims cost him the 2020 presidential election."

The president on Monday indicated he would sign an executive order to assist with the effort to roll back mail-in voting. He also said he would target voting machines, instead favoring watermark paper for ballots.

“Now they need that money in order to have the Post Office work so it can take all of these millions and millions of ballots,” the president said on Fox Business Network in a 2020 interview. “By the way, those are just two items, but if they don’t get those two items, that means you can’t have universal mail-in voting.”

In response to a request for comment on what the executive order would entail, Harrison Fields, special assistant to the president and principal deputy press secretary, said Democrats have “eroded faith in our elections.”

“President Trump wants to secure America’s elections and protect the vote, restoring the integrity of our elections by requiring voter ID, ensuring no illegal ballots are cast, and preventing cheating through lax and incompetent voting laws in states like California and New York."

The Hill's best response: "In 2024, Trump’s campaign and the RNC disseminated information to help their base vote by mail despite Trump’s continued efforts to sow disdain for the practice."

The Brennan Center for Justice, Brennan, as in "Russian Hoax" Brennan, said, "The executive branch is interfering in U.S. elections in unprecedented ways."

Brennan's Center for Justice says, "The Trump administration has launched a concerted drive to undermine American elections. These moves are unprecedented and in some cases illegal. They began with the pardon of the January 6 defendants who sought to overturn the 2020 results. They include affirmative attacks on democratic institutions, the repeal and withdrawal of voter protections, and symbolic or demonstrative moves. A clear pattern suggests a growing effort. As the 2026 midterms approach, that effort will likely gather momentum."

Brennan says this is what Trump is trying to do:

This resource offers the first chronicle of the Trump administration’s actions this year to undermine election integrity. They include:

  • Attempting to rewrite election rules to burden voters and usurp control of election systems;
  • Targeting or threatening to target election officials and others who keep elections free and fair;
  • Supporting people who undermine election administration; and
  • Retreating from the federal government’s role of protecting voters and the election process.

Brennan says of the Trump Administration, "They are poised to enable election interference by investigating perceived adversaries, targeting election officials, and casting doubt on election systems.”

Political appointees who have spread falsehoods about the outcome of the 2020 election, including U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi, Assistant Attorney General Harmeet Dhillon, and FBI Director Kash Patel, have empowered and enabled these task forces. Bondi, Dhillon, and Patel have also made clear they are willing to use the federal government to investigate and prosecute people they claim are responsible for supposed election fraud.

It's ironic that Mr. Brennan's organization is making this case with the likely possibility that he, himself, will be found guilty of the same accusations in the coming months.

Note: The FBI is looking into Brennan for his alleged misconduct related to the Trump-Russia probe. He is believed to have made false statements to Congress about the matter. Federal authorities are investigating his role in the publishing of the 2017 Intelligence Community Assessment (ICA) that promoted false narratives about Russian interference in the election.

Brennan allegedly pushed to include the content of the debunked Steele Dossier, which contained salacious accusations against Trump. Despite warnings from senior CIA officials, Brennan fought to include the dossier in the ICA even though it was about as credible as National Enquirer reports about human bats.

Takeaway

The Left is scoffing at Trump, saying, "Don't you know that the Constitution clearly gives each state the right to manage its own elections?"

They're right as far as that goes.

However.

No question, mail-in ballots invite and allow for massive fraud, or that Democrat-run states and cities have no incentive to clean up the fraud when they benefit from the fraud.

But when locals allow for this kind of cheating, the result is the disenfranchisement of other voters...and that is a civil rights violation...and it is the jurisdiction of the Federal Government to ensure our civil rights.

Many of us have been praying for our country, asking God to intervene in the decay and decline in our culture.

Piece by piece, the Lord is mending the broken parts of our culture.

It's not the way many thought it would happen. But it is happening.

The Prophet Isaiah spoke of these kinds of times in chapter 58: verses 8,9.

"For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts."
