A Texas pastor held nothing back when talking to the Republican convention in Dallas about Texas Democrat and Senate candidate James Talarico.
Robert Jeffress, senior pastor of First Baptist Dallas, took a stand against the Democrat Party's way and the twisted beliefs of candidate James Talarico.
Be informed, not misled.
At the GOP convention in Dallas last week, he said it was unfair to call all Democrats sinners and all Republicans saints, but he noted a distinction.
“There's a difference between falling into sin and being an advocate for sin. And ladies and gentlemen, the Democrat Party is an advocate for evil. They are advocates for sin,” Jeffress stated.
He said Jesus, by contrast, taught that there are two genders and that he himself is the Way, the Truth, and the Light, and cited scripture for every claim.
“The beliefs of James Tallarico are blasphemous. They are evil, and they are not beliefs that any true Christian could support, ever,” Jeffress stated.
“For we know deep down that God has given every leader, including our great President Donald Trump — He’s given Donald Trump not just the right, but the responsibility to protect our nation from evildoers, whether they come from without or within our own country.”
Jeffress then turned his focus on Talarico, who is running against Republican Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton for a seat in the U.S. Senate representing the Lone Star State.
“James Talarico believes there is a spectrum of genders, but in Matthew 19, Jesus said there are only two genders, ‘male and female,’” Jeffress said. “James Talarico believes that all religions are equally valid and are simply different truths or different paths up the same mountain of truth.”
“But Jesus Christ disagrees with James Talarico. In John 14:6, Jesus said, ‘I am the way, the truth, and the life. No man comes to the Father but by me.’ James Talarico describes himself as ‘a Christian who hates Christianity.’ And perhaps he was telling the truth about that.”
Jeffress stated that “the beliefs of James Talarico” were “more than wrong,” calling them “blasphemous,” “evil,” and “not beliefs that any true Christian could support ever.”
“We must condemn the beliefs of James Talarico,” the pastor stated.
American Family News has reported multiple times on Talarico’s false interpretations of the Scriptures. First of all, he believes that God is non-binary, which he said is backed by the Apostle Paul, and that the Bible supports abortion, which he claimed comes from the story of Mary in Luke 1.
James Talarico first spoke about this particular heresy from the floor of the Texas House during a debate about boys playing in girls' sports.
“God is both masculine and feminine and everything in between. God is non-binary,” Talarico said.
Fox News reports that he was asked about those comments on a podcast called "The Bulwark," where he said his claim was backed by the Apostle Paul.
“In fact, the Apostle Paul, in his letter to the Galatians, says that in Christ there is neither male nor female,” Talarico stated.
He admitted that his previous comment was provocative and continues to believe that what he said wasn’t theologically controversial.
This is not the first time Talarico has butchered Scripture to fit his own ideals. AFN reported previously on how Talarico used the story of Mary in Luke 1 to defend abortion. He interpreted the story as God asking Mary for consent before the Holy Spirit came over her.
“To me that is an affirmation in one of our most central stories that creation has to be done with consent. You cannot force someone to create. Creation is one of the most sacred acts that we engage in as human beings, but that has to be done with consent,” Talarico said.
More recently, a clip of Talarico in 2024 went viral where he said Christians and Muslims worship the same God. Nothing could be further from the truth.
Allah is not the same as the God of the Bible.

- Does this teacher preach the gospel?
- Does this teacher exhibit character qualities that glorify the Lord?
Only by being thoroughly familiar with the truth will we be able to recognize a counterfeit.
