As pride parades and LGBTQ madness sweep the nation during the month of June, Governor Bill Lee (R-TN) is fighting back.

He has a better idea.

Yesterday, Lee signed a resolution declaring June 'Nuclear Family Month' for the state of Tennessee.

Be informed, not misled

Tennessee has a change of plans for the month of June, which is often observed nationally as Pride Month. Instead, this year marks the first year of "Nuclear Family Month" in Tennessee. Learn more about the change, and see which other state is observing something other than Pride this month, here.

Governor Lee's resolution is straightforward.

WHEREAS, the nuclear family, consisting of one husband, one wife, and any biological, adopted, or fostered children, is God's design for familial structure and has been the bedrock of society since the creation of the world; and

WHEREAS, the nuclear family was the basic building block of Tennessee's society throughout her formative years; and

WHEREAS, the nuclear family built the United States of America and created prosperity...

You get the drift of where this is going.

He continued:

WHEREAS, fatherless families are four times more likely to live in poverty than marriedcouple families; children without fathers are ten times more likely to abuse chemical substances; children from fatherless homes are more likely to have mental health and behavioral issues; sixty percent of youth suicides are from fatherless homes; seventy-one percent of high school dropouts are from fatherless homes; fatherless youths are twenty times more likely to be incarcerated; eighty-five percent of youths in prison come from fatherless homes; and in a 2016 study by Peter Langman on the psychology behind fifty-six school shooters, eighty-two percent of the shooters were raised in an unstable family environment or without both biological parents together; and
WHEREAS, Tennessee's values do not align with the humanistic, globalist ideologies of
the World Health Organization, the United Nations, and like-minded organizations that fight for population control through the means of promoting sterilization and abortion practices; and
WHEREAS, the nuclear family is God's perfect design for humanity and is aligned with
the long-held traditional values of Tennessee; and
WHEREAS, the nuclear family is under attack in our beloved State and nation, and it is our responsibility to uplift, protect, and support values that help Tennessee prosper; now,
therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE HUNDRED
FOURTEENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF TENNESSEE, THE SENATE
CONCURRING, that we join with the citizens of Tennessee in designating the month of June
2026 as "Nuclear Family Month" and commend the noble endeavors of those who seek to
protect and strengthen the traditional values of our State and country.

"God was clear about His design for humanity, and I’m grateful to live in a state that celebrates and supports that foundation. Wouldn't it be nice if we could all live in such a state."

Local Nashville W77 ABC defined it differently: "Tennessee Gov. Bill Lee has signed a resolution designating June 2026 as Nuclear Family Month, putting the state into a national culture-war debate at the start of Pride Month. The measure praises the nuclear family as a foundation of society and defines it around one husband, one wife, and children by birth, adoption, or fostering."

The resolution is symbolic, meaning it does not rewrite Tennessee marriage, custody or parental-rights law on its own. Still, supporters see it as a public statement in favor of traditional family structure, while critics argue the timing is meant to push back against LGBTQ visibility during June.

The issue is getting attention now because June is widely recognized as Pride Month across the country. Tennessee lawmakers who backed the resolution say they are celebrating families; opponents say the state is using government language to send a political message.

The practical effect may be limited, but the political effect is clear. Tennessee has given conservatives a new example of state-level pushback against Pride Month, and LGBTQ advocates are likely to use the designation as another rallying point.
We get what we elect. Don't grow weary in well doing.
