It's an insane state of affairs indeed when a state can step in and yank a teenage girl out of her home, can block the girl's parents and older brother from seeing or speaking with her, all because the family's faith precludes them from acknowledging her school-prompted "transgender" status and because they refused to call her a boy.
Now the daughter is a ward of the state of Massachusetts, and the parents are fighting to get her back.
This is not an isolated event. It's happening way too often.
Be informed, not misled.

Bill Hemmer (host): A devout Catholic family in Massachusetts are locked a huge legal fight to stop the state from transitioning their teen daughter to a boy without their consent. Lauren Green's got more on this story, here in New York. What have you found out, Lauren, good morning.
Lauren Green: Hey Bill, you know, Joseph and Arlene Kutzko haven't spoken to their daughter since the end of 2024, after the Department of Children and Families (DCF) removed her from their home. The family claims it was because of their Catholic faith, which would not allow them to affirm their daughter as a boy. An emotional Joseph Kutzko reading the birthday card his daughter Sophie gave him in October of 2024.
Joseph Kutzko: Without you, I would have nothing. So it's wholeheartedly, fully, sincerely, I love you with no end.
Red State says, "This doesn't read much like a daughter who is being abused by her parents, to the point where the State of Massachusetts would step in and remove her from her home. And yet, that's precisely what happened next."

Lauren Green: Less than three months later, Child Services removed Sophie from their home and accused them of abuse. The Kutzkos say their daughter's school, Algonquian Regional High School, in Southboro Massachusetts, exposed Sophie to a culture steeped in gender ideology, and blame a school counselor for socially transitioning their daughter to becoming a boy without their knowledge or permission. They claim the counselor contacted Child Services. The school had no comment regarding the allegation.
Vernadette Broyles, attorney for the Kutzkos: You start with school policies that refuse to inform parents when a child rejects their sex and claims another identity. That's part of a system that starts everything down the rabbit hole. Now in this case, the school then reported these parents for... to DCF. So there was a direct school to DCF pipeline in this case as we have seen elsewhere.
Lauren Green: So DCF has assumed guardianship of their daughter. A permanent restraining order remains in place against Arlene and Joseph and Sophie's older brother. The father and mother are distraught.
Arlene Kutzko: Mama missed (sic) you. Please come home. Mama miss you, please. I'm begging you, please.
Lauren Green: We reached out to DCF for comment, but they have not yet responded. Last Friday, a judge temporarily blocked the state from giving Sophie a high dose of testosterone, and the next court date is October 29th.
Dumbing down the culture.
Brandon Morris, writing for Red State says the Left is "dumbing down" society.
Whether it be man-on-the-street clips that show someone not knowing basic history, or wondering why someone would vote for socialism despite every piece of historical evidence showing it's a bad idea, you've noticed the decline.
The education system is infected to its bones with people who would love nothing more than to make you stupid so they can do as they please. To drown you in ignorance so you can't remember your history, your rights, or any other column that forms the foundation of the greatest civilization to ever exist.
He says, "As I've written before, the left despises homeschooling because they see it as a missed opportunity to indoctrinate. They don't say this out loud, of course, but you can tell that's their primary concern because when they talk about homeschooling, it's usually just complaints about 'socialization' and 'Christian indoctrination.'"
Continuing, he says, "Education is rarely mentioned, and that's on purpose, because homeschooled kids are typically more learned than their public school counterparts, perform better on tests, and are far more likely to get higher-paying jobs. It's my theory that a war will soon begin in earnest against homeschooling, which will somehow feature higher costs and corporations turning away homeschooled adults at the door when they apply for jobs."
Takeaway
In 2024, pediatric nurse Vanessa Sivadge was fired from her position at Texas Children's Hospital (TCH) for anonymously blowing the whistle on what she described as the hospital's alleged illegal use of Medicaid funds to prescribe cross-sex hormones and puberty blockers to minors, in violation of Texas state law.
Fast forward to 2026: According to an unprecedented settlement secured by Sivadge with the assistance of the Burke Law Group and Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton, TCH must pay $10 million in penalties for their alleged misuse of Medicaid funds, the five physicians who were allegedly involved in the practice of transitioning minors have been terminated, and the most groundbreaking part of this win: TCH must establish a detransitioner clinic that offers free services to anyone nationwide who has been victimized by the practices of the gender cult.
Vanessa said this in conclusion:
I blew the whistle on two doctors, but the government found THREE more,
I personally witnessed two physicians committing Medicaid fraud through the gender clinic. They allegedly falsified medical records, used vague diagnosis codes to conceal sex-rejecting hormones, and misdiagnosed patients, so Medicaid would reimburse treatments it otherwise shouldn't: a flagrant violation of Texas law that went unchecked for far too long.
I knew about those two doctors, but what I didn't know was that as the government dug deeper, they uncovered three more physicians.
That stopped me in my tracks.
It means the corruption ran deeper than I ever imagined. There were more ideologues behind the curtain. More people willing to sacrifice children while taxpayers footed the bill.
They might have fired me, but I took 5 of their most devoted trans doctors with me.
No regrets.
