With the election closing in, voters are hearing a lot about the economy and cost of living. But a pro-life organization says the battle for unborn life remains front and center.
The pundits and politicians continue to tell Republican candidates to play down their pro-life beliefs, "Don't change your beliefs, just don't talk about them."
Particularly as they relate to the abortion issue.
Be informed, not misled.
Susan B. Anthony Pro-Life America recently commissioned message testing in battleground states to see how the abortion issue is playing out with voters, according to the Daily Wire.
The pro-life organization asked Evolving Strategies to see how effective different types of abortion messages were in Iowa. The theme of the messages called out candidates who support elective abortion in the third trimester.
The “attack” message specifically pointed out Democrats for supporting these late-term abortions. It was the most effective in shifting Republican vote margins by 3.3 points in the governor race and 4.4 points for the Senate race.
However, the overall margin for pro-life candidates fell between 4.4 and 5.0 points.
“Voters are fed up with Republicans treating their bodies and lives as political pawns, and the backlash is growing,” EMILY’s List President Jessica Mackler said recently. “Republicans’ politically toxic, anti-abortion agenda fueled Democratic victories up and down the ballot.”

One of the country’s top pro-life groups thinks this is wrong — and it wants Republicans to take note.
In a memo exclusively obtained by The Daily Wire, SBA Pro-Life America urges Republican candidates to highlight their Democrat opponents’ extremism by focusing on their support for late-term abortions. “Every top-performing message highlights the Democratic candidate’s support for late-term elective abortion,” SBA Pro-Life America President Marjorie Dannenfelser wrote to Republican candidates in late August.
Massachusetts just became the 12th state to allow abortions at any point throughout pregnancy — even when the mother and baby are healthy — a policy legal in just seven countries. SBA’s memo urges Republicans to prevent Democrats from avoiding specifics when discussing abortion — something Democrat strategists are encouraging candidates to do — forcing them to own their votes for policies that many voters find distasteful.
“These laws make their extreme position undeniably clear — and voters oppose it by overwhelming margins,” Dannenfelser writes. “Our message testing in swing races this cycle shows that going on offense to call out Democrats’ extremism on late-term abortion moves the margin 4-5 points towards the pro-life candidate.”
The New York Times used an entire article to explain how "Democrats used the abortion debate to hold off a Red wave."

Currently, Republicans only hold 53 seats, and Dannenfelser noted how this shift toward Democrats would have resulted in Republicans losing the House and presidency.
Kelsey Pritchard, a spokeswoman for SBA Pro-Life, says new research reveals that Republican candidates have a powerful, underutilized tool: simply exposing their opponents’ records.
“What we found is that if Republicans simply expose Democrat extremism, that Democrats are for abortion until birth, that they can’t draw a line at any point... Voters are shocked when they learn that, and that is a smart political strategy for Republicans because they can move a race in their direction by a margin of four to five points,” Pritchard says.
She warns that the Republican Party cannot afford to run solely on economic concerns, arguing that a unified stance on protecting life is vital to countering national Democratic efforts.
“This is a crucial election for life because the Democrats have a national plan to establish abortion up until birth in every single state. They have a national plan to do that, to end every pro-life law that exists,” Pritchard states.
The political importance of this election cannot be overstated.
