Undoubtedly you have heard about the pro-life commercial that NBC refused to air during the Super Bowl yesterday. I think it is one of the best pro-life ads I have seen. Take 30 seconds and watch it. Thanks to

President Obama's "Pathetic Message" to Muslim World

Amir Taheri, an Iranian-born columnist, author and expert on the middle east, told the New York Post that President Obama's message to the Muslim world last week was "pathetic" and dangerous.

Here's why.

He said the President referred to "an illusionary past" in the Muslim world that was in fact plagued by turmoil. And that Obama told his Arab world viewers that he wanted to return to, "The same respect and partnership that America had with the Muslim world as recently as 20 or 30 years ago."

Taheri was shocked by Obama's words. He says Obama got his facts wrong and defiantly sent the wrong message.

Newsmax and other news sources have reported that Taheri reminds his readers, "That 30 years ago, American diplomats were being held hostage in Iran, Soviet troops were seeking to annex Afghanistan, Saddam Hussein was preparing to invade Iran, Saudi Arabia was under siege by Muslim militants, and Syrian troops were preparing to invade Lebanon."

Iranian-born Taheri, whose books include, “Holy Terror: Inside the World of Islamic Terrorism,” wrote in the Post that “other features of this ‘golden age’” were “the seizure of power by mullahs in Tehran, the assassination of Egyptian President Anwar Sadat, the coming to power of communists in the Horn of Africa, the military coup in Turkey, the first Islamist terror attacks in Algeria, unprecedented waves of repression in Egypt and Saudi Arabia, and the imposition of military rule in Pakistan.”

You may remember that twenty years ago the U.S. was arming the mujahedin in Afghanistan, Iraq was gassing thousands of Kurds and preparing to invade Kuwait, Iranian mullahs were arming Hezbollah units in Lebanon, Turkey was launching all-out attacks on Kurdish secessionists, and the Libyan terror network was killing American soldiers in Europe and blowing up U.S. jets.

Obama offered only "trite" remarks regarding the Israeli-Palestinian issue and gave no recognition to the few in Saudi Arabia and Egypt who are trying to reform.

Taheri seemed most concerned with how Obama tried to cast himself. He says, "Obama sought to portray himself as a “bridge” between the U.S. and the Muslim world. Casting himself in the role of a ‘bridge’ and dreaming of a return to an illusionary past, Obama appeared unsure of his own identity and confused about the role that America should play in global politics.”

Following the interview, Iran is already demanding a specific apology from the United States for our transgressions.

This, I believe will become more and more troublesome to more and more Americans as we move forward. I believe we will continue to see that President Obama's view of who America is and what her role should be in the world is an America we have not known and may undermine our homeland security.

  1. Quoting Newsmax as a legitimate news source? Looks like Gary has a severe case of ODS - Obama Derangement Syndrome.

  2. Yes, what Taheri says bears repeating. It would be good for President Obama to read a little more Middle East history. And take it to heart. However, as a Christian first and foremost (and then a citizen of this great country), I would welcome the opening of Iran so that American Christians could freely visit this country, the vast majority of whose citizens haven't heard the gospel. Don't forget to pray for Iran and remember that the Persian King Cyrus blessed the Jews! If it will take an apology for some of our past misdeeds (such as the CIA-instigated overthrow of Iran's democratically elected government in the 50s), so be it. Are we too proud to acknowledge our sins against other nations??

  3. I watched the commercial video rather broken because my dial-up
is slow. I wished I could have seen it on TV.

I think it's message is good and that it was done in good taste.

We all have been rejected at some time in life by someone when we needed their help and somehow God
worked through others to get us
    through. Sometimes his help comes
directly by his spirit within and
upon us. Even the best of men had
    hard times. Maybe getting through
those times by God's help and grace is what made them great.

I can't imagine why anyone should be against the commercial.

  4. Right now Teheran is developing nukes to blow Israel off the map. If it were not for a Jew financing George Washington we may not have won the Revolution. Radical Islam slaughtered 3,000 innocents on 9-11. My what short memories we have. BUSH WAGED WAR AGAINST TERRORISM. Islam has waged jihad from as far back as 700 AD. What further proof do we need that these people want us dead? Obama is reaching out to Muslims who are taught to hate us from childhood. While our children play with Barbies, and Kens, they play with AK-47's. These are a warlike people whose sole purpose is our destruction, our problem is we are not as brutal as they are. We don't behead those who disagree with us. And yet Obama tries to tie to every American family a $7,000.00 debt we didn't apply for, with a spending package to "save the economy". This debt will be handed down to our grandchildren's children. What's wrong with this picture folks? Just what has been put in office? Already people from both sides are questioning Obama's ability, he was a "COMMUNITY ORGANIZER". Speak to the Muslims? We'll see what happens there. Just don't expect kumbayah from Teheran.

  5. Gay marriage has been a fact in Canada for a number of years. I honestly can say to you that absolutely nothing happened as a result. Heterosexual marriage has not been affected in any way. Divorce rates have neither declined nor increased. I think we need to re-evaluate our beliefs about the homosexual agenda. Is/was Ted Haggard the former leader of 30,000,000 fellow evangelicals part of that agenda? And what of gay Catholic priests all over the world. Have they all conspired to author an agenda? It is time to put aside childish notions. We have even helped to strip rights away from and disenfranchise a minority. I am not very proud of that. I'm not sure Jesus would be pleased. Forgive us all.

  6. what does one expect from the anti-christ!

  7. Have you been to canada? Be careful what you say there! you might wind up in jail if you say something about gays. So much for freedom,ay!
