Christian University Offers Credit For Work With PP

Students for Life of America has obtained a copy of an email from a large "Christian" university offering credits for an internship at Planned Parenthood.

Kristan Hawkins, president of Students for Life, says, "It's a disgrace for a large Christian university to offer credit for an internship at the largest abortion provider in the nation."

Hawkins says, "Instead of educating and equipping students on how to persuasively discuss the pro-life viewpoint and help women in crises, they instead reward students for spending valuable time volunteering for an organization that ends the lives of over 325,000 innocent human beings a year."

"And," Hawkins notes, "just think of the parents who thought their child was receiving a valuable Christian-focused education at a private school. They are paying over $53,500 a year to be swindled."

Life Site explains, "Texas Christian University is offering college credit for a student to serve an internship at Planned Parenthood."

They say, "Planned Parenthood of Greater Texas is looking for a volunteer historian to develop a project highlighting its history in Fort Worth since it was established here in 1935."

Personally, I would love to highlight their history.

The email was sent out by TCU's History department.

In addition to combing through PPGT's "substantial archive material," the email says the intern will also have the chance to begin "interviewing local families who have long been involved in support of PP."

The work will culminate as the "intern makes 5-10 minute visual presentations to other groups and organizations in Fort Wort."

Planned Parenthood is asking a "Christian" university to give them a volunteer(s) to put together a PR piece for the abortion organization---then go out and promote the abortion organization in the community.

The "Christian" university is saying "yes" and to further incent the student(s), it is giving them college credit---3 credits of HIST 30073, or the student can make the work for PP a research project for another one of their classes---either way, it's for credit.

This, while the parents (or someone) writes a $53,500 check for what they believe is a Christian based education.

It's ironic that the Planned Parenthood of Greater Texas would so easily entice Texas Christian University to become complicit with their agenda.

PP of Greater Texas, as you may recall, has been at the center of the fiasco involving the selling of aborted baby body parts.

As lately as last October, undercover investigators with the Center for Medical Progress video taped Dr. Amna Dermish, a Texas abortionist, talking with whom she thought were potential baby part buyers, laughing as she said that "removing a baby's skull and brain intact is a goal she would strive for."

Also in October, Texas officials raided the offices of Planned Parenthood of Greater Texas to investigate whether PPGT had defrauded the state's Medicaid program.

Brothers Addison and Randolph Clark founded TCU in 1873 in Thrope Spring, Texas with the expressed purpose of providing a "Christian" education for "male and female."

It was later moved to Waco in 1895, changing the name to Texas Christian University in 1902. When the Waco campus burned, TCU relocated to Fort Worth in 1910 where it still is located.

Although it is affiliated with the now liberal Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) it wasn't always liberal, or so-called progressive Left.

In fact, TCU employees are still considered the most conservative of any college in the Big 12, according to the Daily Caller News Foundation analysis, because they personally give considerably more money to Republicans than to Democrats.

This current relationship with Planned Parenthood does not reflect that conservatism.

TCU web site says: "Our Mission: To educate individuals to think and act as ethical leaders and responsible citizens in the global community."

And "Our Vision: To be a world-class, values-centered university."

Strange values.

But then Hillary Clinton also lists herself as a Christian---"an old-fashioned Methodist Christian."

That was no more evident in her comments when she was the keynote speaker for the annual Planned Parenthood banquet a few months ago than it is in the actions of TCU.

She told the Planned Parenthood audience, "I'm grateful to the entire Planned Parenthood family, you made this campaign [her political campaign] your own"..."It belongs to the staff, the donors, and the providers."

"My presidential campaign belongs to you."

She specifically singled out Dr. Dermish by name for high praise and appreciation.

She then pledged to march lockstep with the nation's largest abortion operation--"I've been proud to stand with Planned Parenthood for a long time, and as president, I will always have your back."

After watching the video of Hillary's speech, Troy Newman, the president of Operation Rescue, said, "God forbid that Hillary Clinton should become president and serve as Planned Parenthood's puppet in the White House."

As Paul told the Romans, he would also tell us: "Because, although they knew God, they did not glorify Him as God, nor were they thankful, but became futile in their thoughts, and their foolish hearts were darkened. Professing to be wise, they became fools" (Romans 1:21,22).

He finished his letter to the Romans with a benediction, concluding, "...to God, alone wise, be glory through Jesus Christ, forever. Amen."

Be Faithful. Be Vigilant. Be Discerning. Be Prayerful.
