Sen. Patty Murray Takes Stand For Infanticide

Democratic Washington Senator Patty Murray has moved to block a measure that would have outlawed infanticide.

The bill, presented by Republican Nebraska Senator Ben Sasse, was titled the "Born-Alive Survivors Protection Act" and would have offered medical care and legal protections to infants who survived attempted abortions.

Patty has essentially killed the bill.

Be informed.

Note: This morning on our live radio program I will be discussing the latest news, including President Trump's State of the Union speech last night. Here's how to join me from anywhere in the world .

Patty Murray kills the bill that would have prevented babies from being killed after they are born.

When Senator Sasse presented the bill from the Senate floor, calling for unanimous consent, he said: "Frankly, this shouldn't be hard."

But it was.

Sen. Patty Murray immediately took a stand to block the bill. And in doing so, she took a stand for infanticide.

President Trump noted last week that the Democratic Party is becoming known as the "abortion party."

He's right. They are.

Sen. Sasse was responding to the crises being advanced by New York and several other states in which a child can be aborted until they begin to be birthed.

Then we learned last week that Virginia, not to be outdone, had proposed a bill that included discussing whether or not a born child should be allowed to live after he or she is born.

Sen. Sasse told the senators,
"We are actually talking about babies that have been born. The only debate on the floor tonight is about infanticide...Everyone in this Senate ought to be able to say that the little baby deserves life, that she has rights, and that killing her is wrong."

Earlier, the Democratic Virginia Governor Northam, a former pediatric neurologist, had calmly explained on the radio how the child would be "made comfortable" while the mother, family and doctors discussed whether the child should live or not.

If not? The secular progressives call it legal "abortion."

Everyone else, since the earliest recorded historical records, has called it "infanticide."

Sasse, unfortunately, was wrong. Everyone in the Senate was not "able to say that the little baby deserves life."

Washington's Patty Murray objected to the measure, saying it is unnecessary to move forward since infanticide is already illegal.

Her objection prevented the bill from receiving the support Sasse had asked for.

She killed the bill that could have stopped the killing of babies after birth.

The right to kill unwanted babies is clearly a priority for the Senator.

Is Patty so committed to that "right" that she is willing to risk her career to kill a bill that would have prevented killing unwanted babies?

Or, is she so confident in her far Left support base in Washington, that she believes a pro-life politician could never beat her in an election?

The lie about abortion protecting the mother's life.

For years the so-called "progressive" pro-abortion Left has used the idea that abortion should be acceptable in cases where it saves the mother's life. The sympathetic pro-life public generally went along with that "exception."

However, we are now learning that too, is based on a lie.

Dr. Omar Hamada, a former flight surgeon and theologian who appeared on Fox News to discuss New York's recently passed legislation expanding abortion rights, took to Twitter to explain why access to late-term abortions was not about the health of the mother or the child.

He said, "There's not a single fetal or maternal condition that requires third-trimester abortion. Not one. Delivery, yes. Abortion, no."

Former Reagan Administration Surgeon General C. Everett Koop said the same thing back in 1980:

Protection of the life of the mother as an excuse for an abortion, is a smoke screen. In my 36 years of pediatric surgery, I have never known of one instance where the child had to be aborted to save the mother's life. If toward the end of the pregnancy complications arise that threaten the mother's health, the doctor will induce labor or perform a Cesarean section. His intention is to save the life of both the mother and the baby. The baby's life is never willfully destroyed because the mother's life is in danger."

The solution.

Yesterday, the Heritage Foundation's The Daily Signal published an article addressing our crisis regarding the sanctity of life, titled, "Democrats Radical Push on Abortion Will Backfire."

Author Jessica Anderson makes a strong case for how we, as Christian, conservative pro-life people should respond.

She says, "To win this battle we must create a culture of life in America where unborn babies are accurately seen as human beings who have a right to life."

And she says, "The goal isn't just for abortion to be restricted or illegal, it's for abortion to be unthinkable."

Anderson says,
"The vast majority of Americans view abortion as a tragic and difficult issue. In pushing their default position to the extreme Left, liberals have turned their coalition into a death cult...Thanks to liberal overreach, conservatives now have the moral high ground and are in the majority....We must stand up to these extreme attempts to implement a nationwide abortion regime that allows infanticide. The Left has gone too far and demanded too much."

I agree.

However, sometimes in states like Washington and others, you do not get the sense that "a majority" stands for life.

I also know it is difficult to take a stand in states like Washington and other far Left bastions of far left secular progressivism.

God bless those of you who regularly stand for Life outside Planned Parenthood abortion mills.

And God bless and help all of us who stand for, vote for, and pray for pro-life politicians who remain pro-life post-election---and work diligently to pass pro-life legislation.

Remember, God is pro-life---"I have come that you might have life, and have it more abundantly."

Paul understood the struggles to advance righteousness in a perverted culture.

2 Corinthians 12:9-10
And He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in needs, in persecutions, in distresses, for Christ’s sake. For when I am weak, then I am strong.
