Disney Digs Deep Hole--And Falls In

Walt Disney Co. employees at corporate locations across the U.S. are protesting Disney to force the company to fight Don’t-Groom-Kids laws, such as the Florida bill that restricts the teaching of sexuality and transgenderism to kids in kindergarten through third grade.

Employees across the country had declared yesterday to be a "walk-out day" to protest Disney's lack of support for "the LGBTQIA2+" activists and their allies.

Proverbs 26:27 says, "Whoever digs a pit shall fall therein; and he that rolleth a stone, it will return upon him."

In an effort to play for both teams in Florida, Disney CEO has dug a pit---and fallen into it. And the "rolled stone" has returned.

Be informed, not misled.

Activist Disney employees and their allies have dubbed a Florida bill "the Don't Say Gay" bill, but it is actually a bill to restore parental authority regarding what K-3 graders are taught about human sexuality in Florida schools. Many parents have said the curriculum that has been used was actually "grooming" children, not educating them. And was facilitated by activist educators.

The local NBC affiliate WESH 2 reported:

The controversial bill nicknamed the "Don't Say Gay" bill by critics passed the Florida Senate and now heads to Gov. Ron DeSantis' desk for signing.

The bill would ban teaching about sexual orientation or gender identity in grades K-3. It also empowers parents by adding that those topics can not be taught in a way that is not age-appropriate or developmentally appropriate for students according to state standards.

A parent could sue a district for violations.

The proposed law is officially called the Parental Rights in Education bill. Supporters have said the goal is to empower parents.

As this matter began to heat up, Disney released this statement:

"To ALL who come to this happy place, welcome. Disney Parks, Experiences and Products is committed to creating experiences that support family values for every family, and will not stand for discrimination in any form. We oppose any legislation that infringes on basic human rights, and stand in solidarity and support our LGBTQIA+ Cast, Crew, and Imagineers and fans who make their voices heard today and every day."

The guy who dug the hole. And rolled the stone.

At first Disney CEO Bob Chapek decided to not take a side in the matter. Stay silent---stay out sight.

That never works with homosexual activists or abortion activists. And it didn't work for Chapek.

Because he didn't speak out in support of the homosexual agenda, they went after him. Soon staffers announced they had set up a new website whereischapek.com and an Instagram account called @disney_walkout.

The employees said this week, "The recent statements and lack of action by the Walt Disney Co. (TWDC) leadership regarding the 'Don't Say Gay Or Trans' bill have utterly failed to match the magnitude of the threat to LGBTQIA+ safety represented by this legislation."

"We have been forced into an impossible and unsustainable position", they added. "We must now take action to convince TWDC to protect employees and their families in the face of such open and unapologetic bigotry."

Disney's desperation.

Disney has been under attack from inside and outside pressure over its initial silence regarding the Florida bill. What’s more? Reports that the company has given money to sponsors of Florida bill HB 1557, which Florida Governor Ron DeSantis (R) is expected to sign into law, ramped up the backlash.

Earlier this month, after the Walt Disney Co. faced the wrath of left-wing activists, Chapek caved to the woke mob and announced that the company is pledging $5 million toward LGBTQ groups in response to the Florida bill.

The CEO also announced that the company would pause all donations to elected officials in Florida. But these moves did not appear to satisfy queer activists and their allies.

On Monday, Chapek attempted to rectify the situation in a virtual town hall, telling employees that he and other top executives were “determined to use this moment as a catalyst for more meaningful and lasting change,” according to a report by the Wall Street Journal.

Chapek also reportedly said that he and other senior leaders will go on a global listening tour of employees.

Takeaway

While Disney scrambles to appease its employees, the company continues to do business in China despite Beijing’s continued genocide of minorities. Disney continues to work to release its movies in the Chinese market and still operates theme parks in Shanghai and Hong Kong.

A few weeks ago, Disney announced it is suspending all business in Russia in response to Vladimir Putin’s invasion of Ukraine. Meanwhile, however, the company continues its close relationship with China despite the communist regime’s well-established record of invasion and human rights atrocities.

No matter how much one grovels and caves to the homosexual activists, it's never enough.

Breitbart News said this yesterday:

"A groveling Disney CEO Bob Chapek on Monday told employees the company should have condemned Florida’s Parental Rights in Education bill that blocked the teaching of sexuality and transgender ideology to students in kindergarten through third grade, speaking 24-hours before mutinous staff planned to walk out during a day-long strike."

Reuters News Service reported, "We know the moment requires urgency — and words are not enough,” said Chapek. "So we are taking some actions right now.”

One of those “actions” involved releasing a statement of apology and contrition for past actions as well as a special “task force” to “develop action plans to make more LGBTQ-aware content for children and family."

So there will be more indoctrination in the works directed at our children.

Chapek has said the Disney Company can make the greatest impact by creating a more inclusive world through the inspiring content we create.

In the face of fierce criticism and backlash from the LGBTQ movement---demanding much more than "inspiring" content--he has completely caved.

He has promised more apologies on more websites and in more countries until the staff is satisfied.

Chapek has established a task force, led by the senior vice president, tasked with "seeking out experts to develop a concrete plan to ensure 'Disney is a force for good'...especially for children and family."

When we are not standing on the absolute Truth of God's Word, we are standing on failing, sinking, shifting sand.

Esther7:10 describes how quickly circumstances can change: "So they hanged Haman on the gallows that he had prepared for Mordecai. Then was the king's wrath pacified."
