Ronald Reagan is famous for saying, "Freedom is never more than one generation away from extinction."
America stands on the precipice. We are on the verge of losing a free country, only to have it be replaced with socialism. Which leads to communism.
There is a major political party that has been hijacked by the socialists to pursue this radical agenda: the Democrat Party.
Democrats have successfully inculcated socialist views within the party's mainstream political base.
According to a new CBS News poll that understates the danger the country is in, the majority of Democrats now favor socialism.
Who would have believed it could happen?
Be informed, not misled.
In the CBS News poll, an alarming 58 percent of Democrats view socialism favorably, while only 32 percent viewed capitalism favorably.
Red State notes, "No wonder 202 House Democrats refused to sign a centrist pledge upholding support for capitalism."
They also noted that "Younger Democrats and White Democrats were also more likely to view socialism favorably."
The CBS News poll said, "Unlike the public overall, Democrats are mostly positive on socialism and have a more favorable impression of it than of capitalism."
Socialism finds more positive views among Democrats with college degrees than those without. They're even more likely to perceive a gap between the richest and the middle class. And less likely to say the Democratic Party is "effective."
Younger Democrats more than older ones, and White Democrats more than other racial groups, tend to have more favorable views of socialism.
In particular, Democrats feel socialism would make their own finances better and that, on balance, capitalism makes them worse.
When it comes to that slippery term "democratic socialism," most of the support is coming from college-educated Democrats.
Interestingly, CBS News polling found that "83% of Democrats would rather 'see people who they think are fighting for them' than have detailed policies."
Of course. It's easier to lead people to believe something than it is to actually "do something."
But what's behind this wrong thinking?
How did we get to this point?
Public education is really at the root of all of this.
Democrats have controlled our "education" system for decades. They have removed warnings about socialist failures and have replaced them with sermons about the evils of "capitalist imperialism" and identity politics that weaponize historical grievances.
CBS News also pointed out that the left is capitalizing on dinner-table messaging meant to exploit the economic headwinds still being felt after the disastrous Biden administration.
Real Clear Public Affairs published this:
Bottom Line: In a survey of 12,372 American university professors, 48.4 percent are registered Democrats and 5.7 percent are registered Republicans, a ratio of 8.5:1. This ratio is nearly eight times larger than that of the general population, where 29 percent are Democrats and 26 percent are Republicans, a ratio of 1.1:1.
A significant amount of academic research has noted a large imbalance between Democrats and Republican professors on college campuses. This survey builds on this literature with additional findings:
Although the ratio of faculty who identify as or are registered as Democratic versus Republican varies across departments, it almost always favors the Democratic Party.
The D:R registration ratio is typically higher among disciplines in the humanities and social sciences compared to those in the natural sciences and engineering.
The D:R registration ratio has increased over time, from roughly 4.5:1 in 1999 to 10:1 among elite liberal arts colleges and social science departments now.
The partisan slant is most extreme in the most highly rated institutions.
In all nine academic disciplines that this survey measured, the D:R registration ratio favors the Democratic Party. Broadly, the natural sciences are the least politically homogenous, with the D:R registration ratio ranging from 4.6:1 (chemistry) to 9.4:1 (Biology). In the social sciences, the D:R registration ratio varies to a much greater extent. Economics has the smallest D:R registration ratio at 3:1 among all nine disciplines, while anthropology has the largest at 42.2:1.
Here is the bottom line:
- Although the ratio of faculty who identify as or are registered as Democratic versus Republican varies across departments, it almost always favors the Democratic Party.
- Broadly, the natural sciences are the least politically homogeneous, with the D:R registration ratio ranging from 4.6:1 (Chemistry) to 9.4:1 (Biology).
- In the social sciences, the D:R registration ratio varies much more. Economics has the smallest D:R registration ratio, at 3:1, among the nine disciplines, while anthropology has the largest, at 42.2:1.
Takeaway
The 212 Democrats in the U.S. House of Representatives who would not vote in favor of capitalism tell you everything you need to know. The Democratic Socialists have taken over the Democratic Party."
Newsweek said this: "The party has always contained different wings pulling it towards different directions. But the success of Mamdani’s own mayoral campaign, and the resounding victories of progressive candidates Brad Lander, Claire Valdez, and Micah Lasher in Tuesday’s New York primaries, are sending home the message that Democratic voters are willing to embrace bolder, more vocal left-wing representatives and move the party leftward."
“Our movement is growing because working people are fed up with the high cost of rent and groceries and medical bills. They know we deserve good union jobs, affordable rent, dignified lives. They’re ready to try something else—socialism."
What does the Bible say?
In the Parable of the Talents (Matthew 25:14–30), Jesus tells the story of a master who entrusts different amounts of money to three servants. Two servants invest what they receive and increase it, while the third hides his talent instead of using it. The master praises the servants who produced a return and criticizes the one who failed to put his resources to work. This teaching supports principles associated with capitalism, such as private stewardship, investment, productivity, and the responsible use of resources. The servants are given unequal amounts, but are not promised "equal outcomes."
Different people possess different opportunities and abilities. Rather than requiring everyone to have equal outcomes, the parable emphasizes responsibility for what each person has been given.
Socialism creates a culture of dependence (on government, in this case) rather than discipline, hard work, and trust in God.
