As the Republican Party tries to sort out what happened to the "Red Wave" expected in Tuesday's election, there are some bright spots---rays of political hope--- as we look ahead.

"We offer a ray of hope that better days still lie ahead," Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis said Tuesday night after he easily won re-election, defeating Democrat Charlie Crist 59.4 % to 40%. Almost 20 points.

I'll be talking about this and the most current reports from the election on my live radio program this morning.

Be informed, not misled.

Former White House Press Secretary and current MSNBC host-in-waiting Jen Psaki gave late-night viewers the scoop from inside President Joe Biden’s administration after she’d spoken to her ex-colleagues. She told MSNBC viewers that the mood in the White House Tuesday evening was “gleeful and giddy.”

Mediate reported, "An MSNBC election team led by Rachel Maddow covered Tuesday night’s midterms well into Wednesday morning, delivering every detail of what has turned out to be a disappointing night for Republicans."

The MSNBC team declared Wednesday an "ice cream social day" in honor of President Biden. They are indeed "gleeful and giddy."

However, there are some rays of hope for conservatives.

Following his resounding reelection as governor, DeSantis was optimistic.

In a rousing victory speech, DeSantis hailed Florida as "a refuge of sanity when the world went mad" and "the citadel of freedom for people across this country and indeed across the world."

“Florida is where woke goes to die," he said.

Gov. Desantis also ordered a letter be sent to the Department of Justice explaining to them they would not be monitoring any elections in Florida as was the plan for Florida and 28 other states.

He told Biden's DOJ it was illegal and wasn't going to happen.

This is a portion of his victory speech.

“States and cities governed by leftist politicians have seen crime skyrocket. They've seen their taxpayers abused. They've seen medical authoritarianism imposed and they’ve seen American principles discarded.

“The woke agenda has caused millions of Americans to leave these jurisdictions for greener pastures. Now this great exodus of Americans, for those folks, Florida, for so many of them, has served as the promised land.  We – we have embraced freedom. We have maintained law and order. We have predicted the rights of parents.

“We have respected our taxpayers, and we reject woke ideology. We fight the woke in the legislature; we fight the woke in the schools; we fight the woke in the corporations. We will never, ever surrender to the woke mob. Florida is where woke goes to die."

A ray of hope.

“People have come here because our policies work. Leadership matters. We refuse to use polls and put our finger in the wind. Leaders don’t follow, they lead. We set out a vision, we executed on that vision, and we produced historic results. And the people of this state have responded in record fashion.

“While our country flounders due to failed leadership in Washington, Florida is on the right track. I believe the survival of the American experiment requires a revival of true American principles. Florida has proved that it can be done.

“We offer a ray of hope that better days still lie ahead. I am proud of our achievements in this state, I'm honored by your support, and I look forward to the road ahead.

“I have fought the good fight. I have finished the race in this first term, and I have kept the faith. We have accomplished more than anybody thought possible four years ago, but we have got so much more to do, and I have only begun to fight.”

What could that mean?

"We have accomplished more than anybody thought possible four years ago, but we have got so much more to do, and I have only begun to fight."

Will he run for president in 2024?

People close to Donald Trump are saying Trump may make an announcement as soon as November 15---next week, and he will likely announce he is running for president.

Trump has warned DeSantis, I'm told, he should not run for president this time. Maybe later.

Several other rising conservative Republican political stars are also considering running for president in 2024.

President Biden is so emboldened by the lack of a "red wave" sweeping the country Tuesday that he said he is still planning to run for reelection in 2024.

Pray for our country.

Ronald Reagan, in a speech to the American people on  February 6, 1986, said this:

To preserve our blessed land we must look to God… It is time to realize that we need God more than He needs us… We also have His promise that we could take to heart with regard to our country, that “If my people, which are called by my name shall humble themselves, and pray and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.”

Let us, young and old, join together, as did the First Continental Congress, in the first step, in humble heartfelt prayer. Let us do so for the love of God and His great goodness, in search of His guidance and the grace of repentance, in seeking His blessings, His peace, and the resting of His kind and holy hands on ourselves, our nation, our friends in the defense of freedom, and all mankind, now and always.

The time has come to turn to God and reassert our trust in Him for the healing of America… Our country is in need of and ready for a spiritual renewal. Today, we utter no prayer more fervently than the ancient prayer for peace on Earth.

If I had a prayer for you today, among those that have all been uttered, it is that one we’re so familiar with: “The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make His face to shine upon you and be gracious unto you; the Lord lift up His countenance upon you and give you peace…” And God bless you all.
