Lawsuit Pits Sharia Law Against the Constitution

I think many of us saw this coming, but it's still chilling to see it in our United States.

The American Freedom Law Center has filed a landmark lawsuit on behalf of a Dearborn, Michigan, resident, alleging that the Arab-majority Detroit suburb, led by Muslim officials, has promoted Islam and discriminated against and fostered hostility towards Christians and Jews — in violation of the Constitution’s Establishment Clause.

What is happening in Michigan is a precursor to what can, and likely will, happen in Texas and other parts of our country if we don't address it.

Of course, the press will try to mislead the public and make this into a matter of Muslims being deprived of "their" rights under our Constitution.

"Sharia Law" Comes to California

California is now officially recognizing two Islamic holidays after Gov. Gavin Newsom signed legislation making Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha official state holidays.

The law gives Muslim state workers the right to take those days off, and public schools may choose to close in observance of the holidays.

Eid al-Fitr marks the end of the Islamic holy month of Ramadan, while Eid al-Adha commemorates the conclusion of the annual Islamic pilgrimage to Mecca.

And, lest we forget: Governor Newsom wants to be president.

Muslims in Texas Lay Out Vision for Islamic America

Shaykh Uthman ibn Farooq laid out a vision for an Islamic America during a livestreamed event at the Sufaraa Center in McKinney, Texas, last week. Authentic Ilm Mission, which hosted the event, plans to build a 40,000-square-foot facility near Plano, Texas, and used the livestream featuring Farooq to fundraise for the multipurpose school and Islamic community center.

“We love this country,” Farooq said. “We want good for this country."

The UniteUS revival movement reached Pepperdine University in Los Angeles this week as thousands of students gathered to seek Jesus together, and hundreds made the decision to give their lives to Him.

The ministry reports the outreach went into overtime, explaining, "Students stayed after the event praying, worshiping, and celebrating together, and many were baptized!"

A Jacksonville, Florida, church is reporting a historic turnout after 2,552 people stepped into the Atlantic Ocean to be baptized, publicly declaring their faith in Jesus Christ.

A biblical spiritual revival is happening across the nation and quickly spreading worldwide.

Socialism Reaches Highest Public Approval Yet

Socialism has reached its highest level of public favorability in Gallup polling, with 43% of Americans now saying they have a positive view of the economic system.

The figure, released Wednesday, is the first time socialism has surpassed 39% in Gallup’s trend dating back to 2010. Socialism still trails capitalism and free enterprise, which 55% and 81% of Americans view positively, respectively, but it has now overtaken big business, which has a 35% favorability rating. Small business remains the most popular of the five economic concepts tested, at 95%.

Government vs Parents

It's an insane state of affairs indeed when a state can step in and yank a teenage girl out of her home, can block the girl's parents and older brother from seeing or speaking with her, all because the family's faith precludes them from acknowledging her school-prompted "transgender" status and because they refused to call her a boy.

Now the daughter is a ward of the state of Massachusetts, and the parents are fighting to get her back.

This is not an isolated event. It's happening way too often.

Last week, I noted in this column and on the radio program that a prominent leader in the development of AI quit his job and walked away from the industry, warning that unless scientists get control of AI, it could kill us all and destroy our world civilization within the next 10 years.

9/11: The Clash of Civilizations

Twenty-five years ago today, things were going quite well for most Americans. Or so we thought.

We were being told that the twenty-first century would be an era of peace and progress, because the major conflicts of the 20th century- the two world wars and the Cold War that followed- were fundamentally disputes within the West over competing visions for our civilization.

Instead of blood and treasure being sunk into massive wars, the coming century would see our efforts directed toward research and exploration of the oceans and space.

In fact, Samuel Huntington wrote a book in 1996 assuring his readers that no clash was imminent because no one could compete with the West, which was now at peace with itself.

We could rest easy; our future was bright.

Could AI Kill Us All By the End of the Decade?

An Anthropic researcher just quit and sounded the alarm that artificial intelligence (AI) has the potential to kill us by the end of the decade.

"By the end of the decade?"

Has Al Gore returned to his ways of predicting the end of all things by a certain date, with a book to sell?

No.

Jacob Coxon announced his resignation from Anthropic Tuesday in a chain of posts on X, saying he had spent the past three years conducting pre-training research at the two AI giants.

From Facts to Feelings in One Generation

A while back, I read an article in which a child psychologist told a story about meeting some kids at a conference who were "transitioning."

As he began talking with them, he asked how they recognized that they were transgender.

He then entered their responses into two categories

One group said it was the result of classroom discussions, indoctrination, and teaching materials.

The other group said they were influenced toward transgendering by children's television programs. 

Then, the psychologist said there was this one kid who said he had noticed that his friends who were transitioning got a lot more attention than straight kids, so he just decided to join them.

A Seared Conscience and its Consequences

Last Friday, the Associated Press reported that the judge in the Lindsay Clancy case declared a mistrial after the 12 jurors failed to reach a unanimous decision on whether the Massachusetts mom was criminally responsible for taking the lives of her three children.

The mistrial declaration came after the top court in Massachusetts denied the defense's petition to stop the judge from declaring a mistrial.

The mistrial, on the seventh day of deliberations, leaves the case unresolved and allows prosecutors to try Clancy again.

This shook most normal people in the nation --- particularly parents.

How could a mom systematically kill each of her three children by systematically strangling each child?

The Maine Supreme Court has unanimously upheld a custody order prohibiting a mother from taking her 13-year-old daughter to her church or religious events. The court reportedly also upheld that Emily Bickford can't expose her daughter to religious beliefs, like the Bible, without approval from the girl's father.
