Hillary Receives Margaret Sanger Award from Planned Parenthood

Update: Organizational work continues on next step in defense of marriage. Will keep you posted.
____________________

Last Friday evening in Houston, Hillary Clinton, United States Secretary of State, received the Margaret Sanger award from Planned Parenthood, with much gratitude.

The award says it is presented annually to recognize "Leadership, excellence, and outstanding contributions to the reproductive health and rights movement."

Some are shocked, however, that she would even receive the award given the namesake of the award and some of the beliefs of Margaret Sanger, the founder of Planned Parenthood.

Let me tell you about Sanger. There is also a new study out linking more negative effects to abortion.

Marjorie Dannenfelser, president of the Susan B. Anthony List, told ONENEWSNOW that she is shocked, "that Planned Parenthood is not more savvy with its public relations work."

She noted that Sanger was a leading eugenicist.

Eugenics is the study of, or the belief in, the possibility of improving the qualities of the human species or, of a human population, by discouraging reproduction among certain trait groups and has been often linked to racial supremacy or purity groups.

Sir Francis Galton, a cousin of Charles Darwin, is credited with defining and developing the field.

Hitler was probably the most famous practitioner, however, Wikipedia lists Margaret Sanger as one of the prominent supporters of eugenics from it's inception.

Dannenfelser says Sanger, "was very frank about her desire to exterminate African Americans, to 'purify the race'." She says Sanger once referred to blacks as "human weeds".

Dannenfelser further says President Obama should be insisting that Planned Parenthood, "Cut its association with a woman who was bent on 'exterminating his race'."

I'm wondering if Obama or Clinton, for that matter, know the history of the founder of their prize organization. I suppose there has been a lot of revision and deletion where possible to expunge those kinds of remarks by Sanger from the record.

Maybe abortion is that important to them. What President Obama did not recognize as racial hate sermons in 20 years of attendance at Rev. Wright's church, became clear in a moment when his political career was suddenly in peril.

Or maybe the abortion industry feels so secure, they don't care.

Steven Ertelt, at LIFENEWS says a new study has been released that affirms that abortion is linked to future relational problems, more domestic violence, sexual dysfunction in women and a 385% greater risk to be conflicted over drugs.

These are trying times for people of faith. Marriage, family, the sanctity of life, personal freedoms and the financial foundations of our country are under assault.

Thousands of years ago, a prophet spoke to the people of faith in their time of challenge. I give you his words for today:

"Even the youths shall faint and be weary and the young men shall utterly fall, but those who wait on the Lord, shall renew their strength; They shall mount up with wings like eagles, They shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint." Isaiah 40: 30-31.

Wait. Walk. Run. Soar.

God is with you.

The "Kingdom of Trillion" Located in the "State of Denial"

Print Friendly Version of this pagePrint Get a PDF version of this webpagePDF
UPDATE: We are meeting today in Olympia to begin work on an initiative to overturn the Legislature's new homosexual legislation, should they pass it. That will include an effort to replace certain senators and representatives in upcoming elections who were unable to vote for marriage. Details forthcoming.
____________________

If you want to know where we are at this point in American history, you will not need a GPS.

Simply proceed as you are and continue to take every left turn.

This week the G20 meetings begin in London. There is already a huge pushback from the US and our out-of-control economic policies. China has asked for a new currency to replace the dollar for international purposes, while the rest of the world sits in disbelief at Obama's new economic policies.

He is following some of the same policies that Argentina adopted some years ago.

Once upon a time "Who Wants To Be A Millionaire" was a fascinating show and it was exciting to see Publisher's Clearing House show up at someone's door about Super Bowl time and give them a million dollars--then later ten million. Forget about it. Now that's little money---peanuts.

Now it's a trillion here and a trillion there. $6 trillion, no, $9 trillion, well, maybe more, we'll see, debt for our children and their children and their children.

How much is a trillion anyway?

We now live in the "Kingdom of Trillion" which is located in the "State of Denial".

Sen. Judd Gregg told the nation Saturday that, "If you take all the debt of our country run up by all of our presidents from George Washington through George W. Bush, the total debt over those 200 plus years since we started as a nation, it is President Obama's plan to double that debt in just the first five years that he is in office."

Out in the Northwest quadrant of this vast new Kingdom is the colony formerly known as Washington State. While only a mere colony, Princess Gregoire and her Court are doing their best to achieve a performance medal from the Kingdom.

During the campaign for her re-election it was a $5.4 billion deficit problem---now after the election, we're talking $9 billion and that was a couple of weeks ago.

Not only is she and her court poised to throw 5 to 10 million dollars on their new domestic partnership, which will become gay marriage program, she and some wise legislators have a plan to fix the problem. You will not believe what they see as part of the solution.

I want to share that and more, as well as some links that can be very helpful. Please read on.

Senator Judd Gregg is a very successful business man. He has earned millions of dollars through wise investments, in fact his expertise is so well known that President Obama initially reached across the isle and ask him to be the Commerce Secretary. At first Gregg agreed, then upon a closer look at exactly what Obama had in mind, he said he could not be a part of it and withdrew.

On Saturday Gregg pointed out during his Republican response to the President's weekly address, that Obama's debt will exceed all debt combined from George Washington through George W. Bush in the history of our country---in just 5 years.

He also said, "He isn't trying to hide this; in fact he is very forthright in stating that he believes that by greatly expanding the spending, the taxing and the borrowing of our government, this will lead to prosperity."

Denial.

President Obama is betting the farm in a $4 to $10 trillion poker game. And it's your farm he's betting.

I am giving you a link to the Christian Science Monitor news service, which has combined a video of Obama's speech and Judd's speech, both of which are only a few minutes long. This link also includes the text of Judd's speech.

I am also including a link to the National Journal online which is the text on one of the most informative roundtable discussions--from both sides, that I have seen.

And one more helpful link is to the Financial Times online which shows a very brief cartoon of how the "Geithner Plan" for prosperity is supposed to work. The Times is, of course, out of England and is a snapshot of how the financial experts in London feel about "The Kingdom of Trillion". It is not intended to be humorous, but I smiled.

Their closing comment? "Don't bet your last trillion that it will work."

Several have pointed out in the past week that there are a couple of bills in the works in Olympia that are intended to increase the cash flow and help "fix" the Princess' $5, I mean $9, or whatever it ends up being, problem.

HB 2300 is designed to expand gambling across the state.

That's right, they believe that if they expand gambling, they will increase cash flow into the Kingdom and everyone will live happily ever after.

The evidence that gambling can be harmful is overwhelming and undeniable, expect by the Court in the Kingdom and the Princess.

When you see the gambling commission running ads on TV telling the public they fund counseling and recovery programs for people addicted to gambling, you know it is a problem for people.

In fact it is estimated that it costs the economy as much as $54 billion annually.

Denial.

HB 2321 will expand the availability and convenience of buying alcohol across the state. More stores--in more places. This will also create more revenue for the state.

So the answer in the Colony for increased revenue and a "fix" for their problem, seems to be to get the subjects drunk and send them to the casino.

Yes We Can!

Yet when they are reaching to this depth for money, the left side of the Court doesn't blink when they tell you they don't know for sure how much their new expanded homosexual benefits plan will cost. And don't seem to care as they rush to pass it. Amounts of $5, $6, $8 million have been discussed. Who knows?

This kind of thinking throughout the Kingdom is beyond ignorance---it is a cult of denial.

I have used a little humor to mask my own tears of concern.

The idea that we can sit back and everything will be alright is as far off the mark as those who have abandoned ancient principles and any moral compass other than relativism, believing they can spend their way out of a financial crises and make things better by selling more alcohol and expanding gambling.

America is being pushed away from free market capitalism toward a European style socialism. Our present financial crises is seen as a huge opportunity by the Obama administration and others who envision a very different America. They call it "change". And they are exploiting the opportunity.

They are bankrupting the country, while their followers are pushing the state toward the edge. All this, while re-ordering our culture, re-engineering the family, redefining marriage and reducing the sanctity of life, at beginning and end of life to a mere choice on any given day depending on how they feel.

It is time for good people to take back their communities and their country.

Thank you for standing with us.

God help us.

A Growing Chorus in Defense of Marriage in Washington State

Print Friendly Version of this pagePrint Get a PDF version of this webpagePDF
There is a growing chorus of voices being raised in defense of marriage in the state.

I received an email yesterday from a woman who is a member of the Faith and Freedom Network, telling me she had spoken to her pastor about the importance and urgency of the current assault on marriage and the need for their church to become involved. She said he enthusiastically said their church would get involved and he wanted to begin receiving our communications.

The reality of the actual intent of the present homosexual legislation now moving through the Legislature is becoming more clear to more people. And they are beginning to raise their voices in defense of marriage.

We hear much about the homosexual activist legislators who are pushing the present legislation. And we should know that Senator Ed Murray has called the Defense of Marriage Act-DOMA a reprehensible law.

However we should also know that there are those Legislators who have and do strongly support traditional values and marriage.

Senators Dan Swecker and Val Stevens are two veteran Senators who have for many years stood tall on behalf of family and biblical values. They along with others, whom we will be highlighting, are standing tall of the SB 5688 bill.

A few days ago Senator Stevens published an email to her entire constituency.

It begins with, "Our society is in deep trouble. The Washington Legislature is dangerously close to passing a law that makes homosexual relationships equal to marriage in every respect---except name."

Please read her entire statement below and then forward this page to as many as possible.

_________________________

SAME-SEX MARRIAGE MAY BECOME STATE LAW – UNLESS WE MAKE OUR VOICES HEARD NOW

Our society is in deep trouble. The Washington Legislature is dangerously close to passing a law that makes homosexual relationships equal to marriage in every respect – except in name.

The Senate has already passed Senate Bill 5688 and if it passes the House, homosexual marriage will be law.

At that point, all it would take is for homosexuals to sue the State for the right to be given a marriage license. If domestic partnership is equal to marriage, then the court must decide if that includes a marriage license and ceremony.

A decades-old, hidden agenda

Same-sex marriage is only part of a hidden agenda homosexual activists have promoted for more than 35 years.

As a legislator for almost half of that period, I can tell you this legislation is not about “love” and “families” as many of the activists portray. It is a secret, hard-nosed political movement determined to fundamentally change our society.

For example, on Christmas Eve 1984, then Governor Booth Gardner signed Executive Order 85-09 giving special protection to homosexuals within Washington state employment. This order bypassed the Legislature and the people entirely.

In 1986 we ran Initiative 490 in an attempt to overturn that Order.

Unfortunately, for lack of signatures, it failed to make it to the ballot. People did not know then that this seemingly small executive order would lead us down such a slippery slope.

In 1993, before he died of AIDS, Representative Cal Anderson introduced House Bill 1443 to expand the Human Rights Commission giving homosexuals special protection from discrimination by all employers.

More than 450 people turned out to oppose the bill. The hearing room was so crowded the committee meeting had to be moved to the House Chambers. I had never seen that happen before and haven’t since.

Even though it died in the Senate, the bill passed the House because Rep. Anderson had convinced legislators to ignore public reaction.

Over the years, this hidden agenda has gained more and more ground.

We have lost our rights as parents, employers, citizens

Over the years, we have lost:
1. The right to control the moral character of the people who teach our children.
2. The right to decide what our schools teach about sex.
3. The right of an employer to determine whether an applicant’s moral character will affect his job performance.

These basic parental and employer rights are gone forever.

In fact, this agenda has invaded the foster care system, our schools, state government, sex education, and now two homosexuals who sign a paper will have all the rights of a married couple.

If you remember, in 1998 House Bill 1130, the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA), was passed by the Legislature into law.

In 2004 homosexual activists sued the state to overturn it. I was a defendant in that lawsuit and, with others, defended our state’s right to define marriage as between one man and one woman.

After two years of court battles, the Washington State Supreme Court upheld our right to ban homosexual marriage.

If SB 5688 is passed this session, “domestic partnership” becomes equal to marriage in every practical way. And it WILL overturn the Defense of Marriage Act.

What can we do now?

If we are to protect Families we MUST fight this ongoing homosexual agenda.

If Washington allows homosexuals to marry, their agenda will invade every part of life in our state. You will not be able to protect your children or society at large from the changes that will stem from that one law.

While there is still time, I urge you to call every member of the Washington State House of Representatives and tell them to vote NO! on 5688.

And keep calling…do not let up!

At last week’s Stand Up for Marriage Rally several speakers told the estimated 2,400 attendees they would be introducing a public initiative to affirm marriage is only between one man and one woman.

It’s up to you.

I will continue the fight – no matter what! We can do it!

Sincerely,

Val Stevens

Press Ignoring Marriage Advocates - Homosexual Activists are not

Print Friendly Version of this pagePrint Get a PDF version of this webpagePDF
As we follow the so-called, "everything but marriage" legislation that the homosexual activists are intent on pushing through the Legislature, we are learning a couple of things.

The press doesn't particularly care how we feel about marriage. Even if a couple of thousand of us stand at the gates of the legislative "temple" and say "please honor marriage," it is not news worthy.

However the homosexual lobbyists are very interested in what we believe and what we are doing. Equal Rights Washington, the largest homosexual rights group in the state, is reporting what we are doing, how they define us and are raising money off us.

They are also defining your motives.

Please note the last line of their communication referring to who is the source of their strength and success.

Keep in mind Who is the source of our strength and success. Therein is the difference.

Read it and be informed so you may more effectively resist.

At least they are not ignoring us. I hope the following will underscore the need for us to work together and support our cause with time and money. Please contribute to Faith and Freedom.

Subject: Far-Right fundamentalists to announce "Next Steps"

"There are those who seek to re-engineer family and redefine marriage. They have...called tolerance the new truth, revised history to support their ideologies and are moving our country toward a socialist, secular society with relativism as the
moral compass.”

-Gary Randall, Faith and Freedom Network

Dear _____,

In just a few short hours, busloads of fundamentalists and Far-Right extremists are planning a rally in Olympia to announce what they are describing as the “next step in defending marriage.” This announcement comes from Gary Randall, of the Faith and
Freedom Network
. The message is clear: these groups will stop at nothing to take away those rights we have worked so hard to achieve and erase any possibility of marriage equality in the future.

We cannot sit by and watch fringe groups from the Far-Right shred what we know are our fundamental rights. We must all stand together to send a STRONG message to say to Gary Randall, Ken Hutcherson, and others who seek to restrict our civil liberties.

WE WILL NOT ALLOW THIS TO HAPPEN!

Contribute here to join this powerful and growing group of Washingtonians who want to see full equality in our State, and who have decided NOW is the time to act!

The power of our movement and the strength in our voice is measured in terms of our ability to work together. The Far-Right's cash machine was heavily instrumental in the disaster with Proposition 8 in California. We need your help to stop them from
doing the same thing here in Washington. Your contributions and the response of our community and our allies will be critical in the coming months in educating Washingtonians on our issues and changing hearts and minds.

Working together, we will be successful in defeating these or any other Far-Right hate groups. Please join us through making a personal commitment to this most important of causes.

YOU are the source of our strength and success!
Sincerely,
Connie Watts Executive
Director

As noted, they will be working to "change hearts and minds". The next few months will be a watershed time for the culture of Washington state and the future we will hand to our children and grandchildren.

I have not yet seen the "far-right cash machine" they referred to above. If there is such a thing, please ask them to visit us.

While we wait for their visit, your financial support is the only way we can proceed. Thank you for standing with us in your financial support, prayer and action.

Rep Barney Frank Calls Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia a "Homophobe".

Print Friendly Version of this pagePrint Get a PDF version of this webpagePDF
US Representative Barney Frank, an openly gay lawmaker, has called Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia a "homophobe," confirming a common response toward those who do not support homosexual marriage or do not affirm their lifestyle.

Apparently Frank does not realize Scalia's actual position on moral issues.

Rep. Barney Frank called Scalia a homophobe in an interview with a gay news website. The Seattle PI is carrying the Associated Press story.

In discussing gay "marriage" and his expectations that the Supreme Court would some day be called upon to decide whether marriage exclusively between one man and one woman, therefore denying homosexual "marriage," is Constitutional said, "I wouldn't want it to go to the United States Supreme Court now because that homophobe Antonin Scalia has too many votes on this current court."

The AP reports that Scalia, who is known to be very conservative, actually dissented from the Court's ruling in 2003 that struck down state laws banning consensual sodomy.

Scalia feels that these kinds of moral issues should not be in the hands of judges, rather in the hands of the people.

It doesn't seem to matter to Frank. Scalia's a homophobe anyway because he probably doesn't support homosexual marriage and affirm the homosexual lifestyle.

This is a common response toward anyone who supports traditional marriage. They are called bigots, hateful and discriminatory because they do not support homosexual "marriage" and do not affirm the homosexual lifestyle.

It is sad, but true. Words such as tolerance have been turned around and are used as battering rams against those who hold a different view.

I am certain that for those who hold biblical worldviews on morality, the sanctity of life, marriage and family, the near future is going to be both trying and challenging.

May God help us.

Welcome to the "No Press" Zone

Print Friendly Version of this pagePrint Get a PDF version of this webpagePDF
I'm continuing to receive emails from you regarding your concern over the lack of press coverage of last Thursday's rally.

I know, the reality is shocking, but that's where we are in regard to the press and these matters. The same day the press could not fit in a story about 2,400 citizens standing on the Capitol steps in defense of traditional marriage, they were able to cover a half dozen protestors in front of AIG downtown.

The Seattle PI could not cover the rally, but can cover an alleged "hate crimes" charge on a metro bus by an 18-year-old kid.

KIRO 7 TV, who had a reporter in Olympia during the rally, couldn't cover it, but can run a story about country artist Martina McBride telling OUT magazine that she would welcome an openly gay country artist, even though the country music audience is, "Very middle America, very Bible belt."

KOMO 4 TV didn't respond to a number of you who asked about their no coverage of the rally, but they do have space and time to run a story about an "Oregon Teen Charged With Tanning Salon Peeping."

Welcome to the "no press" zone.

As we move forward in our defense of marriage---again, please know they will likely not adequately cover those things that could help and will cover the controversies that will surely emerge over the next few months.

It is imperative that we sign up as many as possible to receive this blog and commentary. This will be our best and likely only way to properly communicate as we move forward. Encourage friends and family to join with us. They need only to subscribe here.

This won't surprise you and you will believe it. Guess what CNN did yesterday morning.

It isn't just local. The press is hard at work everyday in every way "serving" local communities across America.

Yesterday morning, CNN's Jim Acosta, covered the weekend canvass, which was sponsored by the Democratic Party's "Organizing for America".

He reported that, "Once volunteers for the Obama campaign...a vast grassroots network of supporters is back on the trail."

Michael Bates from NEWSBUSTERS, added a touch of truth to CNN's "Vast grass roots network."

Using other news sources, reporting actual numbers of people turning out in various locations around the country, he points out that the "vast grassroots network" is actually hundreds--maybe a thousand or twelve hundred. Keep in mind, this a nation wide call to action to help the President push his agenda. Made to those who elected him.

Read the story --smile, and know that we are not alone in the "no press zone."

Talk this up among friends, family, friends at church, your pastor and help expand this network.

Together, with God's help, we can do this. Each day we write for the purpose of informing people of the attacks on marriage, life, and freedoms, with the intent to inspire you to have the will to resist and stand for traditional principles and values.

This is action time.

God bless you.

Stand Up For Marriage Rally, the Press, the People, the Purpose

Print Friendly Version of this pagePrint Get a PDF version of this webpagePDF
BLOG UPDATE: Video of the Rally has just been posted on our home page. Click here to view.

My email over the weekend indicates that people are still talking and thinking about the rally last Thursday.

Thanks for all the pictures. Some are alike, but those with individuals and groups who may have come together, have been posted. If you would like to add yours, email them to info@faithandfreedom.us The pictures show the crowd gathering as early as 10:45 a.m. Thursday morning all the way to the beginning at 12 noon. I arrived at about 10:30 and saw several hundred gathered on the steps with a couple hundred inside the Capitol. After I spoke at about 12:15 PM, I walked over to one of the Washington State Patrol assigned to the event and asked how many he would estimate were in attendance. He explained they had a matrix for counting each section of the steps. He told me there were less than 3000 and more than 2000. He estimated 2400.

Thank you to all who attended. Thank you to all from the Russian, Slavic community, many of whom are first generation immigrant citizens.

I have a couple of comments about the press. I want to introduce you to two people who responded very, very differently to the rally and remind you of the purpose of the event.

The press essentially did not show up. In fairness I must tell you that Drew Mikkelsen, from KING 5 had told me a week earlier that he would be covering our event. I saw him at about 11 AM Thursday on the Capitol campus and he told me he was there to cover our event, but had just received a call from his boss and was told to go directly to Gregoire's office that KING 5 was doing a lead story on the Governor's $9 billion problem.

KOMO and KIRO told some of you on our mailing list that they were unaware of the event, however a reporter from KIRO TV, whom I have met before, found me in the crowd, gave me his card and said please call me next week. They had been notified.

Let's be honest, the press is not on our side on this issue. I'm sure they try, or at least try to appear to cover these kinds of events with some degree of fairness. There are specific reporters who would do more if they were allowed. They have been very quiet about SB 5688 and HB 1727. I believe there are those in the press who do not want a lot of public dialog about these two bills.

The Christian Broadcasting Network (CBN) contacted Larry Stickney and me over the weekend and asked for some of the video footage our Faith and Freedom people took of the event. We are sending that to them and will also be posting it on the Faith and Freedom web site, perhaps today. Watch for it.

The Seattle Times called me after the fact.

I have received a lot of personal email since the event. Some has been kind ---some is not. I am going to share two different emails I received minutes apart. One is a mother. I have not altered or edited except to delete the name of her late daughter and, of course, her own name. The other is from a man. I have deleted his name. Both are responding to the rally and what it meant to them.

Take a deep breath and read.

I am a wife and a mother of 3. I don't work outside the home because I have more than enough work inside the home. My husband, a commercial electrician, supports us all. We homeschool our children and we just got through 2½ years of being nurses to our daughter who went to Heaven on December 29, 2008 due to a brain tumor. She was 5½ years old. We are on the rebound from a very hectic time in our lives, but our faith in God is strong and has grown through our experiences of seeing our daughter suffer and then go to be with our Father in Heaven. I am writing you because I want you to know how much I appreciate your daily updates and all the work you do for Faith & Freedom. With everything that has gone on in our lives, I haven't had the time to keep updated on the news. We receive World Magazine and we get some e-mail updates from organizations online. But I've hardly had time to read much of even that, until the past couple of months. You wrote about the Marriage Rally and I decided to come with my children to stand for traditional marriage with you and others. I wanted to deliver this letter in person. Unfortunately, my oldest son got ill and we were not able to attend. We are terribly disappointed as we wanted very much to come and stand with you and the others to support the truths we need to protect. However, we know there will be other opportunities to stand with you. Our foundations in this country are crumbling fast. So fast that it is scary. The America of yesterday is long gone. I've been reading
through the Psalms lately and I ran across one that I felt was so true for these times. I wanted to share it with you.

Psalm 83
"O God, do not keep silent; be not quiet, O God, be not still. See how your enemies are astir, how your foes rear their heads. With cunning they conspire against your people; they plot against those you cherish. 'Come,' they say, 'let us destroy them as a nation, that the name of Israel be remembered no more.' With one mind they plot together; they form an alliance against you--the tents of Edom and the Ishmaelites, of Moab and the Hagrites, Gebal, Ammon and Amalek, Philistia, with the people of Tyre. Even Assyria has joined them to lend strength to the descendants of Lot. Selah. Do to them as you did to Midian, as you did to Sisera and Jabin at the river Kishon, who perished at Endor and became like refuse on the ground. Make their nobles like Oreb and Zeeb, all their princes like Zebah and Zalmunna, who said, 'Let us take possession of the pasturelands of God.' Make them like tumbleweed, O my God, like chaff before the wind.As fire consumes the forest or a flame sets the mountains ablaze, so pursue them with your tempest and terrify them with your storm. Cover their faces with shame so that men will seek your name, O LORD. May they ever be ashamed and dismayed; may they perish in disgrace. Let them know that you, whose name is the LORD--that you alone are the Most High over all the earth."

However, like God, I don't want them to perish. I just want them to turn from their ways, know Him, and then glorify Him. (Ezekiel 18:23, 32; 33:11). No reply is necessary as I would rather you keep focused on the task at hand. I just wanted to thank you for your service to God. Your audience is listening, learning, and appreciating.

Now, read this.

Bigots.
Mr. Randall, You and the other members of your organization are nothing more than extreme right-wing bigots. You and your conservative fellow travelers and ancestors have been proven wrong for at least one hundred years in this country and you will be proven wrong again. You conservatives railed against a woman's right to vote and the 8 hour day in the early 20th century. Conservatives opposed FDR's New Deal, (that, by the way) saved capitalism so that you can make more money. Conservatives opposed the minimum wage, the FDIC, Social Security, and pretty much everything else that Roosevelt proposed. In the 60's conservatives, (in both parties, I might add), opposed the civil rights legislation that finally enfranchised an entire race of Americans. You applauded Reagan when he declared war on organized labor and began the destruction of the US industrial base and the good middle class jobs that went first to Mexico and then to China. Now you are against everything that President Obama is trying to do to clean up the mess left by 8 disastrous years of Bush and Cheney. And you have set your sights on making sure that gay people are deprived of the basic rights to marry and form a legal union like any man and woman can do.

This bigotry will not stand and people like me will continue to challenge you on every front. You will not get away with your attempts to deprive citizens of their basic rights. You and your ancestors were WRONG! WRONG! WRONG! for the last hundred years and you will be proven WRONG again.

Seattle
The Purpose of the rally.

It is not likely to change the vote of the homosexual leaders in the Legislature, who are intent on redefining marriage---or a majority of their followers.

However, it is a rallying point for those of us who believe in traditional marriage. It is a point of beginning to launch the appropriate campaign, once these so-called "everything but marriage" bills become law.

Be absolutely confident we are prepared to begin the first day we can legally do so. There is deep resolve, not hatred, toward this effort to re-engineer the family and redefine marriage.

Homosexuals are free to form their relationships---they are not free to redefine marriage.

We need to build the biggest possible network of citizens over the next few weeks. As the press and the homosexual activists didn't expect to hear from us to the extent they did in Olympia, there are those already predicting that we cannot succeed in a referendum campaign.

This is a cause I would gladly go down for because it involves the culture of the next generation, and the next. But I don't believe they are correct. I think we can win this one and will.

I believe we are on the right side of the marriage issue and God will help us.

We must stand together and work together and pray together as never before. Please encourage your friends and family to join the movement to defend marriage by subscribing to receive our blog. It is through this daily communication that we will keep you updated.

The press will not help us get the word out. We must do it through our own communication network. It is vital that as many as possible sign up.

Thank you and God bless you.

Two Thousand Four Hundred "Stand Up For Marriage"--- in the Rain

Print Friendly Version of this pagePrint Get a PDF version of this webpagePDF
Mid-week, in the rain, according to the Washington State Patrol, there were at least 2400 on the steps of the Capitol yesterday---standing up for marriage.

Thank you.

It was great to meet so many of you I have not met before.

We have put a few pictures from the event on the website today. Our video crew is getting their A and B rolls together and we will be putting up video as soon as it is available. Click here to view photos.

If you took some pictures and would like to share them, please email them to us at info@faithandfreedom.us and we will include them on the website.

I left the rally with some very strong impressions and a good sense of direction.

In the speech I gave, my commitment to move forward with a referendum or whatever action is appropriate depending on what exactly the Legislators do with the "every thing but marriage" legislation they have introduced, was met with thunderous applause and cheers.

That is encouraging.

Faith and Freedom and Washington Values has committed ourselves to move forward on behalf of defending marriage. It is vitally important that we build and expand the grassroots network. If you signed up at the rally, your name will be added to the list and you will begin receiving regular communication. If you know those who should join us, please encourage them to subscribe to our daily blog and commentary. This is how we will continue to communicate as we move forward.

A good number of Senators and Representatives do support marriage. Many of them were present yesterday and several of them spoke. Senators Swecker, Stevens, Roach and others participated. We are grateful for their service and stand on these important issues.

Representatives Matt Shea and Shelly Short, who were elected to office in this past election with your help, spoke strongly in support of marriage. They are both talented people of character.

There are more such people around the State of Washington who could also be elected.

Not only must we address the marriage issue, and be abundantly assured we will, but we must also take a longer view and work to change the character of the Legislature. You have already begun that process with these and other high quality people as examples of what can happen when people of like mind do something together.

This rally was further evidence of that, with a number of organizations coming together.

We will keep you informed as we move forward.

Thank you for your support.

Obama Supports Elevating Homosexuality

Print Friendly Version of this pagePrint Get a PDF version of this webpagePDF
"Stand Up For Marriage Rally" today at the Capitol in Olympia. 12 noon to 1 PM.
______________

Candidate Obama promised the homosexual lobby that if elected, he would work to completely repeal the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA).

When asked earlier this week if the President would keep that promise, Robert Gibbs, the White House press secretary, assured the press he would. In fact, openly gay Rep. Tammy Baldwin D-Wis., plans to introduce a bill that will expand gay benefits and will likely be helpful to Obama as he starts his assault on marriage.

Yesterday we were told that President Obama and others in the United Nations have elevated homosexuality to a new level.

Austin Ruse, president of the Catholic Family and Human Rights Institute said Obama actually signed a press release that had been drafted previously by the French. The French had expected him to sign because they know he supports the homosexual agenda, and he did.

Ruse says the press release encourages, "The acceptance of gender identity and sexual orientation as a category---that will stand along side race, religion and other widely accepted categories of non-discrimination."

Ruse said for a brief moment last week at the UN, the Obama administration endorsed a document titled, "The International Guidelines On HIV/AIDS" which calls for criminal penalties for those who criticize homosexuality.

We are grateful for the last minute push back by the Obama team, but is this the future?

Stand strong. Be vigilant.

God bless you.

"Unity '09": Have You Heard About It?

Print Friendly Version of this pagePrint Get a PDF version of this webpagePDF
"Stand Up For Marriage Rally" tomorrow on the steps of the Capitol in Olympia. Noon to 1 PM.

Based on the numbers of email I am receiving from around the state, we should have a good turnout. I'm looking forward to seeing you. Thank you for taking a stand. I'm told the other side is trying to organize a group to be there as well. We'll see. They had 250 out to their own rally on the steps last week. Be prepared.
___________________

Likely you have not heard about "Unity '09". But you should be aware of it.

It should be a call to action for all people of faith and conservatives.

Conceived at a New York meeting just before the November election, two Democrats who are familiar with the planning, have told POLITICO that "Unity '09" was conceived to draw together money and grassroots organizations to pressure lawmakers in their home states to back White House legislation and other so-called "progressive" causes.

The far left, as you can imagine, is giddy about the prospects of ramming Obama's far left policies through even some of the more moderate lawmakers. So far the new organization has been secretive and stayed off the radar.

They have already had some success, with more of the same planned. Many of the participants are so far left they are off the page.

MoveOn.org is a central player, but other groups are involved, including a broad spectrum of interests---all far left. Groups forming under the "Unity '09" umbrella include, ACLU, the National Council of LaRaza, Planned Parenthood, Sierra Club, Media Matters America, various labor unions, environmental groups and Health Care for America Now.

Consultant Paul Begala said, "When progressive activists are working in concert and the right is forming a circular firing squad, you know it's a new day."

The Obama people swear they are not directly involved in this, and they are probably not. They don't need to be. President Obama is a dream come true for the far left.

The original "Progressive Media" group is also involved and is used to coordinate the far left group's messages and their attacks on Republicans and conservatives.

The group's 8:45 AM daily conference call has so far helped bring groups like the League of Conservation Voters into the effort to cast Rush Limbaugh as the leader of the Republican Party. Michael Steele, as you know, was a useful tool with his unwise comments about Limbaugh, abortion and other issues.

Politico says they have also coordinated attacks on two leading critics of Obama's health care plans.

Bill O'Reilly told Politico, "This, ladies and gentlemen, is a threat to America."

It is not an overstatement to say America stands on the threshold of disaster if we continue on our present track.

Obama is writing checks to AIG, while AIG writes checks to those who bankrupted AIG, rewarding them for their performance. And Obama is defending his actions while the secret "Unity '09" works the other side of the street, helping everyone to understand that we are on our way to recovery and prosperity.

And "Unity '09" will be there for him as he signs the so-called "Freedom of Choice Act" removing all restrictions on abortions and while he repeals DOMA, redefining marriage and the family.

If this is not a call to action, what will it take?

God bless you for heeding the call.

The Press and the People: Good-By Seattle P.I.

The Seattle PI has delivered its last print addition this morning, ending a 146-year run.

I, as many of you, grew up with the PI in our home.

Hearst Corp. CEO, the owner of the PI, said yesterday that their goal is to turn seattlepi.com into the leading news and information portal in the region. People inside have told me they sincerely hope that will happen, but they are subdued about the future.

The reason the PI is folding its print publication is, they say, falling revenue. They all say that. That's what the New York Times said a couple of weeks ago when they sold their new building to stay afloat. Other major newspapers have and will fold. These are difficult times with the intrusion of the intranet and the current economy.

While there are external reasons why the news media and newspapers in particular are failing, their difficulties may be more closely attached to an internal, rather than external problem.

Two words come to mind.

Distrust. Hypocrisy.

Let me explain.

There was a time in my lifetime when people wanting to authenticate something they were telling would say, "I know its true, I read it in the newspaper," and they were serious.

This past presidential election was transformational in a couple of ways. In addition to electing America's first African-American president, the media confirmed what many people were already thinking. And had been for some time.

Distrust.

Polls consistently show that the public does not trust the media. Even those who are on the political side of the media. They believe they are biased, even if they agree with their bias.

Media Research Council has done the work. Look at the polls. Follow my link, scroll down to "Public See's Media's Pro-Obama/ Anti-McCain and Palin Tilt." Now clear your mind, I'm not going to rehearse the past, I'm using it as a high profile point for national polls.

Look at what America was thinking as we closed out the presidential election and the year 2008.

*By nearly 8 to 1, voters say journalists want Obama to win.

* By 5 to 1 Public thinks most journalists are trying to elect Obama.

*Rasmussen Polls: 55 % say media bias bigger problem than campaign cash.

And there's more, check it out.

I personally believe newspapers have the right to be biased. There are print papers both large and small who are known to be biased and are doing pretty well.

The difference is when papers pretend to be "unbiased" when everyone knows they are not. Remember the book we read as kids, "The Emperor Has No Clothes"? The elite news business has been telling the little people, the subjects, that they were unbiased, institutions of news gathering, without which the nation could not survive. All the time advancing their own agenda, what ever that may be at any given time.

Meanwhile in the village, the people moved on. And the Emperor is naked. And the people are whispering.

Even those who supported Obama and welcomed the news media commitment to his election, are quick to tell the polls that they do not believe the media is unbiased. Yet every morning the media proclaims their neutrality.

This translates to other non-related news items and causes the public at large to read their stories with a growing degree of skepticism, and in the end, not to read them at all.

The character crises that is prevalent in our culture is prevalent in the media.

Hypocrisy.

In an attempt to convince the public that they were serving everyone with the facts, so as to increase readership and subscriptions they have convinced no one.

Pew Research Center for the People and The Press has determined that "Virtually every news organization or program has seen it's credibility decline."

On "partisanship and creditability," FOX NEWS rates highest, Wall Street Journal second and USA Today, third. BBC, NPR, Newshour and NBC are the bottom four.

The latest example happened only a few days ago with the Associated Press' non-coverage while covering the George Tiller trial, showing virtually no connection between him and Kathleen Sebelius and her donations to Tiller and her private reception at the Governor's Mansion for him.

Why?

She is waiting confirmation as President Obama's Health and Human Services Secretary.

While some of us are sincerely sad to see the PI go, it is not unexpected. Decisions have consequences.

Thank God for the free market. It tends to correct these kinds of issues.

Homosexuals Fully Invested in their Cause

Homosexuals Fully Invested in their Cause

Iowa is not generally considered fertile ground for homosexual activists like say Portland, Seattle, San Francisco or Boston, however, openly gay Senator Matt McCoy has sponsored a bill that would legalize gay "marriage."

Guess who is funding it?

Civic leaders in another city have created a new definition for gender identity and you will not believe the wording. And neither can the folks who live there. The problem, however is--you guessed it, where the money is coming from to influence the vote.

Iowa lawmakers are considering a bill to legalize same-sex "marriage," sponsored by homosexual State Senator Matt McCoy.

Several polls have shown that a large majority of Iowans oppose gay "marriage" and support traditional marriage by 60-70 %.

However, it appears that outside money is flowing into the state to influence the outcome.

Chuck Hurley, of the Iowa Family Policy Council, says, "The person who is really responsible is wealthy homosexual activist Tim Gill."

He says it would be almost laughable except "In states where Gill and his friends have been very successful in buying off politicians through campaign contributions, these bills have to be taken seriously."

Gill, a Colorado billionaire, and his homosexual friends have been pouring money into local elections all around the country, supporting local lawmakers who will vote for gay "marriage" and working to defeat those who will not.

Hurley says in Iowa a constitutional amendment must originate with the legislature and they have rejected several opportunities for a marriage amendment. And he says local politicians have also taken, "Hundreds of thousands---probably in excess of a million dollars now---from Gill and his friends."

A similar thread is developing in Gainesville, Florida, where the city council has passed the most outrageous, confused, gender-identity statement that locals have ever heard or seen.

It defines gender as follows:
"An inner sense of being a specific gender, or the expression of a gender identity by verbal statement, appearance, or mannerisms or other gender-related characteristics of an individual with or without regard to the individual's designated sex at birth."

Take a long deep breath and ponder that for a moment. Oh, I know, as you do, what the intention is, but is there any sanity left in our culture?

Think about the impact on just public restrooms alone.

Many in the public are outraged and tried to get the city council persons to reconsider, but they refused. Citizens believe the council is somehow impervious to any kind of reaction or criticism.

The citizens have now petitioned and gotten the issue on the March 24 ballot, but supporters of the wording are out- spending the citizens 4-1.

Money is again flowing in from out of state from national organizations such as the National Gay and Lesbian Task Force.

They expect the vote to be close.

I don't know if any outside money is flowing into Washington State, yet, but it certainly will. Particularly as we begin the referendum process to defend marriage.

There are some in the faith community who will not cooperate in a referendum to defend marriage. They have said they don't think people of faith have the will to resist the efforts to redefine marriage. They don't think we have the will to stand against the march of the gays and their agenda.

But is this not a worthy cause?

I don't believe I am the only one who sees the worthiness of defending marriage. Although there are those among us who will not support such efforts, I believe there are many more who will.

I, for one, am willing to put myself and Faith and Freedom on the line for what I feel is not only a worthy cause, but a moral one as well.

I sincerely hope we are not weighed and found wanting in this matter.

I cannot overemphasize the urgency and the need for you to stand with us and support us over the coming months as we defend marriage in the State of Washington.

Thank you for standing with us.

God bless you.

Troubling Times

Print Friendly Version of this pagePrint Get a PDF version of this webpagePDF
Plan to attend the "Stand Up For Marriage Rally" next Thursday, March 19, on the Capitol steps in Olympia. A reporter from KING 5 told me yesterday afternoon that the gay activists had around 250 to 300 at their rally yesterday.

I, along with others, will be speaking and we will be announcing our next step in defending marriage.

I have heard of three churches that are bringing a bus load of people. I'm sure there will be more. Perhaps you could organize a group from your church this Sunday.

Be sure to encourage your friends and family to attend.

Troubling Times

These are troubling times. There are those who seek to re-engineer family and redefine marriage. They have undermined the sanctity of life, called tolerance the new truth, revised history to support their ideologies and are moving our country toward a socialist, secular society with relativism as the moral compass.

At a time when leadership is needed, the political party that has best represented the deeply held views and beliefs of people of faith and conservatives, can't seem to walk, much less lead.

They seem to have lost their way and are trying to move away from the biggest and most loyal block of voters in the country.

Last fall, after the election Washington State Secretary of State Sam Reed wrote a column or op- ed piece for one of the Seattle papers suggesting that perhaps the Republican Party should move away from the social issues, indicating that it may well be the reason they are losing. He used himself as an example of how to win.

Now Republican National Committee Chairman, Michael Steele, has again, stumbled awkwardly regarding one of the deepest held beliefs among people of faith.

Life. Abortion.

The Washington Post says, "Less than 24 hours after beating back rumors of a no confidence vote in his leadership, Republican National Committee Chairman, Michael Steele is on the defense again over an interview he gave with GQ's [magazine] Lisa Depaulo."
The above link will take you to a portion of the interview.

In it, Steele says of abortion, "The choice cuts both ways. You can choose life or you can choose abortion. You know my mother chose life. So, you know, I think the power of the argument of choice boils down to stating a case for one or the other."

The interviewer says, "Are you saying a woman has a right to choose?"

Steele says, "Yeah, I mean, again, I think that's an individual choice."

Interviewer. "You do?"

Steele. "Yeah, absolutely."

The interviewer is shocked and so are many in the pro-life community.

Steele has now put out an "explanation," much as he did following his unwise and unnecessary comments about Rush Limbaugh.

Tony Perkins of the Family Research Council, immediately responded saying, "I expressed my concerns to the chairman earlier this week about previous statements that were very similar in nature. He assured me as chairman, his views did not matter and that he would be upholding the platform of the Party, which is very clear on these issues."

Perkins said it is very difficult to reconcile the GQ interview with the chairman's pledge."

Indeed it is.

I personally have wanted Steele to succeed for a couple of reasons.

However, the idea that Sam Reed has put forward and now Steele seems to be struggling with, is very troubling to many.

Mike Huckabee said yesterday afternoon, "Since 1980, our Party has been steadfast and principled in believing in the dignity and worth of every human life."

And therein is the problem.

People of faith have overwhelmingly supported the Republican Party, because that party has reflected their values and beliefs. Their support is based on principles---not politics.

If the Republican Party abandons those principles that represent the core beliefs of people of faith in favor of the mirage of being "moderate," essentially standing for nothing so they can win---they won't win.

Noah Webster once said, "In selecting men for office, let principle be your guide."

When leaders abandon the principles, those who hold those principles deeply, will abandon the leaders.

Senator Ed Murray: " Doma Is a Reprehensible Law"

Print Friendly Version of this pagePrint Get a PDF version of this webpagePDF
As Senator Murray carried his gay legislation across the goal line last night, winning approval from a majority of his colleagues in the Senate, he called the Defense of Marriage Act a "reprehensible law." DOMA, as you know, is the Defense of Marriage Act, which defines marriage as between one man and one woman.

Regardless of their words, the actions of a majority of the senators affirmed Murray, his position on marriage and, unfortunately, SB 5688, which he sponsored. The bill was passed and its on to the House of Representatives where the companion bill is assured to pass. Gregoire will sign it into law.

Please review how your senator voted on this bill.

Senators Swecker, Stevens, Roach and Holmquist stood tall for traditional values and spoke against the bill, telling their colleagues this would likely be the last vote they would have on gay marriage. Several Democrats stood for marriage with these and other pro-marriage lawmakers--but in the end there were not enough senators who would vote for marriage.

Most disappointing was the three Republicans who refused to vote for marriage. More on that later.

I am correctly quoted in the Seattle Times this morning saying, "This is the last incremental step before they try to attach the name 'marriage' to what is now called domestic partnerships."

I told the Times that if SB 5688 and it's House companion HB 1727 become law, homosexual activists will argue to the courts that there is no difference between domestic partnerships and marriage and they will have reasonable cause.

Some of the comments made by lawmakers last night were almost unbelievable. I have some comments on that and want to share where we go from here.

Republican Senator Dale Brandland, District 42, which covers Bellingham north to Lynden, Blain and Sumas---west to Point Roberts and east into the mountains said, "This is about equality. I think they are born gay--if you're born gay, you're going to have those feelings for other people---it's the right thing to do."

Does that represent the views and beliefs of those of you who live in his district? Particularly those of you who are Republicans. Why do you elect someone who clearly has no grasp on the lack of any evidence that homosexuality is genetic. This man is a gay activist's fantasy.

If Republicans, or any politician for that matter, can not support traditional marriage, the fundamental building block of any and every society in history, they are either out of touch or committed to the radical gay agenda. If they want to serve, they should move to downtown Seattle, Portland or San Francisco where they will actually represent their constituents.

Republican Senator Janea Holmquist, representing District 13, which includes Rosyln, CleElum east to Moses Lake, Warden and south to Terrace Heights and the east side of Yakima, stood strongly in support of marriage. She also said she believes this was their last opportunity to vote on marriage. She said, "It gets around DOMA--will alter marriage by creating an equal equivalent. She said, "Gays have a right to their relationships---but do not have a right to redefine marriage.

Republican Senator Curtis King from District 14, which includes Union Gap, west Yakima, Selah, Gleed, Tieton, Naches and into the mountains voted with Murray.

Republican Senator Pflug, District 5, also voted with Murray.

There are other comments from senators that are both telling and revealing, however I will get to that later.

It was Senator Murray's passionate plea just prior to the vote, that alarmed me most. He referred to his seat mate and his partner and their children, assuring his colleagues that they were just like any other family or something very close to that, but it was a single comment that I will not soon forget.

He said, "Don't worry about the children." Senator Murray is the last person who should be assuring anyone about children's safety in the context of a homosexual home---and the Senator knows exactly what I'm referring to.

Where do we go from here?

Today we begin the process of defeating Senators Brandland, King and Pflug in the primaries. I understand this will put us against the Republican Party, however we have no other choice. We communicated with them and their offices as to how very important this matter is with people of faith, yet they were compelled to vote with Murray and the gay activists.

Faith and Freedom, along with other organizations, is sponsoring a rally for marriage on the steps of the Capitol on Thursday, March 19 at noon. I and others will be speaking. Please plan to attend if at all possible. I know some of you cannot attend because of work, etc., we also know this is short notice, but please encourage others who can attend to do so.

This rally will have no affect on the votes of our elected officials, however it will be the beginning of a referendum movement to repeal their actions.

There are those, even now, who are saying that the conservative and faith community lack the will or the financial resources to stand against Murray and his people. I do not believe that. This is a spiritual matter, not a political one.

I believe we do. There are no words that can adequately express our need for you to stand with us during this time.

I simply believe God will speak to your heart and you will respond.

Thank you and God bless you.

Senate Bill 5688 Passes at 9:51 PM Tonight

Print Friendly Version of this pagePrint Get a PDF version of this webpagePDF
This is a sad day in Washington State. Standing against economic concerns, religious concerns, tradition and marriage itself, the Washington State Senate passed SB5688 at 9:51PM tonight, thus setting the stage for homosexual marriage in Washington State.

I cannot tell you how profoundly saddened I was, personally, as I watched the proceedings tonight.

Sen. Dan Swecker attempted to pass an amendment to send the matter to the people for a vote. The amendment was defeated.

Sen. McDermott said, "No. We're elected to vote on behalf of the people."

Senators Swecker, Stevens, Roach, and Holmquist spoke in opposition to the bill pointing out this bill creates an equivalency to marriage.

I will have more detail and where we go from here in tomorrow's blog. I have included the roll call vote below. Please note how each senator voted tonight. Also note that Senators King, Pflug, and Brandland abandoned their own Republican party and voted against traditional marriage.

President Obama: "We Will Lift the Ban on Promising Embryonic Stem Cell Research"

Print Friendly Version of this pagePrint Get a PDF version of this webpagePDF
Several Christian organizations met in Olympia yesterday in a private closed door meeting. I can assure you, we are all on the same page regarding the expansion of the gay agenda---specifically HB 1727 and SB 5688. As facilitator of the meeting, I was encouraged.

Your calls are making a huge impact. I was in Senator King's office yesterday, one Republican we are targeting because we have not felt he was with us on the marriage issue. While he was over on the floor, we spoke to his staff and they assured me they were receiving your calls--lots of calls. Please continue to call or email particularly the list I sent out Friday. If you have already called or emailed your own senator as well as the others, please contact someone who has not called or emailed and encourage them to do so.

Time is of the essence.
_________________________

President Obama: "We Will Lift the Ban on Promising Embryonic Stem Cell Research"

President Obama took another step against life yesterday by proclaiming, "We will lift the ban on federal funding for embryonic stem cell research."

During his first week in office, he reversed President Bush's policy that would not allow federal funding of abortions.

With that proclamation, Planned Parenthood and other international organizations that exist off the abortion industry, rejoiced.

Last night, news services reported that the University of Washington Medical School and other institutions across the country also rejoiced. Millions, perhaps billions of your tax payer dollars will now flow into their embryonic stem cell research programs that, to date, have produced no positive results. While adult stem cell research has been successful.

In fact, private money has not invested in embryonic research because it has not produced positive results. Just a couple of weeks ago, embryonic stem cell research was condemned in Israel for causing tumors in a patient.

Steven Ertelt at LIFENEWS says President Obama even misled the public regarding President Bush's policy on the matter.

However, I was most offended and concerned by his comments about the Christian faith and embryonic stem cell research.

The President called his decision a "difficult and delicate balance" and said he sided with a majority of Americans who support the funding.

He said, "Rather than furthering discovery, our government has forced what I believe, is a false choice between sound science and moral values. In this case, I believe the two are not inconsistent. As a person of faith, I believe we are called to care for each other and work to ease human suffering."

Of course we are to care for each other and work to ease human suffering. Christians are doing that all over the world. And the vast majority of those doing so, believe in the sanctity of life.

His comments are divisive and his moral decision-making is based on moral relativism.

For twenty years Rev. Wright's sermons were okay--until they threatened his political career.

There is no sound science that supports embryonic stem cell research at this time. His decision is an ideological one, a political one, not one based on science.

According to his words, public opinion polls justify creating and destroying human life for research. Do polls and public opinion trump moral values?

Will he teach his children that if everybody is doing it, it must be okay?

Welcome to the future.

God help us.

Your Calls and Emails are Turning the Tide on Homosexual Legislation

Print Friendly Version of this pagePrint Get a PDF version of this webpagePDF
Our efforts toward defeating homosexual legislation are having an effect.

Friday morning, at 11:43 AM, The Stranger, a prominent gay newspaper and blog out of Seattle, wrote, "After years of silence about gay-rights legislation, religious conservatives are inundating state lawmakers with demands to block this years domestic partnership bill. They are aggressively targeting Democratic legislators in swing districts, with personal emails, passionate phone calls and by showing up by the hundreds for legislative hearings."

Friday afternoon at 3:35 PM, The Stranger, after reading our Friday blog, published a second blog of desperation which opens by saying, "The Faith and Freedom Network, a group 'committed to preserving traditional Judeo-Christian values' is using its blog to wage a war on the domestic partnership bill."

There's more. They wrote, "But now FFN is upping the ante in a blog post urging folks to target swing district senators."

These are the senators we referred to as having Republican seat-mates, meaning the district can vote either way and has done so.

They have linked to our web site and Friday's blog, while quoting substantially from our message to you on Friday.

They are now encouraging their people to call the list I gave you to call.

Please continue to make the calls and send the emails.

There seems to be a sense of panic, they are now starting to place blame internally because some senators are starting to consider changing their vote and you will be interested to read how Senator Ed Murray is responding.

Normally I do not link to gay newspapers or web sites, nor do we quote the gay press, however this is most interesting in light of the extra effort many of you are giving to this matter.

Your calls and emails are having an effect, as did your presence at the hearings a few weeks ago.

In their first Friday morning blog titled, "Bible Thumpers Threaten Domestic Partnership Bill," they quote Senator Ed Murray; "We haven't seen an angry far-right turnout against LGBT rights legislation like this for almost a decade."

Note that the gay newspaper referred to us as religious conservatives, while Murray refers to us as "angry far-right".

Murray tells The Stranger that,"He and others in Olympia are unclear what's behind the upswing in conservative pressure; the emails come throughout the week, not just following Sunday sermons."

That is, of course, because you are emailing every day. Please refer to our list posted last Friday and if you have not done so, please make the call or email. Without going into the details, I encourage you to be sure to call the Republicans listed. However, it's important to call all lawmakers we listed and when you call your senator be sure to identify that your are from his or her district.

One lawmaker, from a swing district that you have been calling, who asked not to be identified and who obviously has been supporting the bill---until now, said they have received 250 emails in opposition. And that was several days ago.

The pro-homosexual agenda is feeling our pressure.

They are telling The Stranger that many lawmakers are not hearing from those who support the homosexual legislation. They say only those in Seattle who are sponsoring the bill are hearing from the supporters and they are asking why.

Equal Rights Washington, the largest pro-homosexual organization in the state, is making excuses while The Stranger is now trying to mobilize a movement against Faith and Freedom's efforts.

ERW are being criticized and Josh Freiedes, the director, is trying to explain why the homosexual lobby is losing ground.

Murray says of the hearings, "The crowd was stacked five -to-one against the bill."

Freides says they didn't pack the hearings, because they were told not to create a circus. They have also been criticized for using form emails, while you have been speaking from your heart and your beliefs.

Senator Darlene Fairley, who chaired the senate committee hearing, referred to our presence at the hearings as, "A ton of people."

Freides says their income is down and they have had to let people go. He says, "The gay rights movement is getting a little complacent, because we've had essentially years of continued success...People just assumed... the domestic partnership expansion bill of '09 would be a breeze."

He says, "That does not reflect reality."

Your actions has created a new reality for the homosexual agenda.

Here's what will happen next.

First, they will increase the number of calls to lawmakers this week. Please make your calls and contacts.

Secondly, they will demonize Faith and Freedom and all of us who support traditional marriage. ERW will raise a substantial amount of money this week. Probably some will come from out of state. This will allow them to do more.

If you can do anything to help us financially, I can not overstate our need this week. This is a real battle with real consequences.

If possible, please help this week by donating online or mail a check to:

Faith and Freedom Network
PO Box 399
Bellevue, WA 98009

The gay activists are so concerned that they are asking the Seattle homosexual community to, "Call your parents or friends who live in the suburbs and ask for them to help."

To all the friends of Faith and Freedom and traditional marriage; where ever you live, from the farm to the high rise, the small town to the city and yes, even you who live in the suburbs, we too, need your help and I know you will stand with us, because you already are.

I cannot overstate the urgency of making the calls and your financial support.

Thank you and God bless you.

Urgent. It is Time to Call a Senator and Say No to SB 5688

Print Friendly Version of this pagePrint Get a PDF version of this webpagePDF
While calls have been being made to Washington State lawmakers, it is time to increase the number of calls to specific senators, urging them to oppose and vote no on SB 5688. They will be voting soon on this matter and it is very important they hear from as many of you as possible.

Here's why.

The citizens of Washington are being misled by the activist homosexual lawmakers and their colleagues who are also either misled or unwilling to support traditional marriage.

For example: I'm looking at Sen. Rodney Tom's letter of response to a constitute from his District 48, who asked the senator to oppose SB 5688.

Tom's letter first extols the virtues of SB 5688, then quotes John F. Kennedy on giving rights to people, then says, "To those opposed to this legislation, it would not circumvent the marriage laws of Washington. It would not change the definition of marriage in Washington. It would not require anything different from any religious group in the state. In summary, it would not affect them."

"Them," of course is us.

I will tell you why this statement is misleading and deceitful and which senators we need you to call, starting today.

First, Senator Tom's statement. I don't know if the Senator, himself, has been misled or if he is purposefully misleading his constituents.

Deceit is tricky.

Technically, most of his statement, standing alone, is true. However, this bill is a Trojan Horse. This bill and the House Companion Bill 1727, elevates domestic partnerships to the level of marriage and removes any legal difference.

Once these bills become law, homosexuals will have a basis to sue for "marriage". They will sue on the basis that they are being discriminated against because they can't use the name marriage, yet their domestic partnership contract is exactly the same as marriage. They will use this bill as basis for the suit, thus achieving "marriage" through litigation.

The Washington State Legislature has the second largest gay caucus of any state in the country. Openly gay lawmakers pushing these bills and misleading the public as to their effect are, Sen. Ed Murray, D-Seattle, Rep. Jamie Pedersen, D-Seattle, Rep. Marko Liias, D-Mukilteo, Rep. Joe McDermott, D-Seattle, Rep. Jim Moeller, D-Vancouver and Rep. Dave Upthegrove, D-Des Moines. These men have repeatedly told the press and the public that their ultimate goal is "marriage". This is a giant step to achieve that goal. At the end of their journey is Governor Gregoire, with open arms, raised in victory, ready to sign anything they place before her. Gov. Gregoire has signed more pro-homosexual legislation than any governor in the history of this state.

I'm urging you to stand for traditional, biblical marriage. Please call the following list of senators and respectfully ask them to vote no on SB 5688. Begin today.

Would you also contact friends, family members and friends at church this weekend and ask them to join with us and make the call. Ask your pastor if he will mention it from the pulpit. His mention of this bill would not violate any tax-exempt rules.

When you call your own senator, also tell their office you live in their district.

Following is the list we need you to call. We have posted instructions in how to find which district you live in and which senator is yours.

First. There are three Republicans who we feel are not with us. They need to hear from you.

Dale Brandland, district 42 -- 360-786-7682
Curtis King, district 14 -- 360-786-7626
Cheryl Pflug, district 5 -- 360-786-7608

Secondly, these Democrats will be up for election next year. Ones with an asterisk (*) by their names have one or more Republican seat mates.

Claudia Kaufman, district 47 -- 360-786-7692
Steve Hobbs, district 44 -- 360-786-7686
*Chris Marr, district 6 -- 360-7867610
Eric Oemig, district 45 -- 360-786-7672
Rodney Tom, district 48 -- 360-786-7694
*Derek Kilmer, district 26 -- 360-786-7650
*Tracey Eide, district 30 -- 360-786-7658

The following two senators are not up for reelection next year, but have Republican seat mates.

Jim Kastama, district 25 -- 360-786-7648
Mary Margaret Haugen, district 10 -- 360-786-7618

There are others who will be voting with us that I have not listed. There are also those who will not be voting with us regardless of how many calls they would receive.

We will be posting all votes on this bill and the House bill.

This is both urgent and timely. Thank you for stepping up. I really believe your calls will influence some of these lawmakers.

Thank you and God bless you.

Abortion Clinic Owner Throws Away Live Baby

Print Friendly Version of this pagePrint Get a PDF version of this webpagePDF
Tehran, Iran: Late yesterday afternoon, Iran's military chief warned Israel that its nuclear facilities are within the range of Iranian missiles.

This while Hillary Clinton vows to work toward a Palestinian state and President Obama is promising to pull back on the development of missile defense systems in the region.

Help!

Abortion Clinic Owner Throws Away Live Baby

An abortion clinic is accused of delivering a live baby during a botched abortion procedure and then throwing the live child into the trash.

While it is clear that the abortion industry is without principle in regard to life; now it appears there is no restraint to what they will do to kill yet one more baby for a buck.

The young mother had gone to the abortion clinic to dispose of what she had been told was a "fetal mass," however everything changed when she saw the child. Her lawyer says, "She came face to face with a human being and that changed everything."

The details are gruesome. I have linked the story so you can choose to read it or not.

The story essentially involves a young mother coming to the clinic and having been given drugs to dilate her cervix. The doctor scheduled to perform the abortion was late and the young mother gave birth. The doctor's assistant, Belkis Gonzalez, knocked the child off the chair where the mother had given birth, and then scooped up the baby, placenta and afterbirth into a red biohazard bag and threw it away.

The baby was found later by the police and an autopsy confirmed that the baby was born alive--her lungs were filled with air before her death.

Although this has been well-documented, the assistant and clinic owner are now denying the charges.

However, owner Dr. Pierre Jean-Jacque Renelique said at the hearing Friday it was never his intention to do abortions.

He said, "That was not part of my goals when I came to Florida, but I had to do it to survive."

Abortion is indeed deadly and destructive. I believe it is driven more by money than even the self centered, so-called freedom of choice.

President Obama has promised Planned Parenthood that he will get the so-called "Freedom of Choice Act" passed, which will greatly expand this evil industry.

And there are those among us who insist that Christians should not be involved in the political process--that pastors should not address these "kinds" of issues.

God forgive us.

Is America on a Collision Course with Israel?

Print Friendly Version of this pagePrint Get a PDF version of this webpagePDF
President Obama is moving to rescind a U.S. Department of Human Services regulation protecting civil rights and the exercise of conscience in health care.

Dr. David Stevens, CEO of the Christian Medical Association, says, this move, among other actions, "Exposes the myth of moderation in Obama's policy." I have linked their press release.
___________

Is America on a Collision Course with Israel?

WEB UPDATE: 2 HOURS AGO: CLINTON CRITIZES ISRAEL

I certainly hope not.

Israel plays a significant role in God's blessing on America, yet while President Obama is sending a secret letter to Russia saying he will back off on missile defense if they will help stop Iran from completing their race to nuclear weapons, Hillary seems to be driving a wedge between America and our faithful ally Israel.

Russia's response? "We don't haggle over US missile defense plans."

Obama is now saying the press wrongly characterized his secret letter. Who knows? We do know it wasn't very secret.

We also know that Russia is deeply involved with Iran and in fact is providing them with rockets that deliver satellites into space. It is said that these same rockets can carry other payload as well. Nukes.

We also know that the missile defense mentioned in the secret letter is intended to protect Israel and others in the region.

While global citizen Obama is discussing things with Russia, he is blowing off one another of our most loyal friends; Poland.

Meanwhile, over the mountain--across the sea, Secretary of State Clinton is in the middle east, pledging to press for a Palestinian State. This puts her and our country in direct conflict with Prime Minister-designate, Benjamin Netanyahu.

The International press is reporting, "Hillary Clinton Puts America On Collision Course With Israel" as she pledges to press for a Palestinian State.

You will note in the picture in the link that Shimon Peres is kissing Hillary.

Netanyahu is not kissing her. And probably won't.

Netanyahu, who previously served his country, was often in conflict with then President Bill Clinton over these same policies.

While Hillary seemed to support everyone---while she is with them, she has long embraced the Palestinians. Apparently she and President Obama share this commitment to a two state solution.

Most biblical scholars and people of biblical faith understand the prophetic aspect of this conflict.

America does not want to be on the wrong side of this issue.

While I do not believe this is a time when people of faith should be paralyzed by fear, it is certainly a time to be vigilant and prayerful, asking God for wisdom and guidance.

These are perilous times, but God is with us.

"Married" Homosexuals Challenge DOMA In Court

Print Friendly Version of this pagePrint Get a PDF version of this webpagePDF
Yesterday we said the Global Warming demonstration in Washington D.C., billed as the biggest ever, may be snowed and frozen out. It was. Even Pelosi couldn't make it because of the weather. Read the story.
________________

Mary Ritchie, a Massachusetts state police trooper and her "spouse" Kathleen Bush, along with about a dozen others, have filed suit against the federal government, claiming DOMA --the Defense Of Marriage Act, which protects traditional marriage as between one man and one woman, discriminates against gay people and is unconstitutional.

This case not only threatens DOMA, but is a case study of what will happen in Washington State if we allow SB 5688 and HB 1727 to pass.

The attitude of the Obama administration is clearly left to extreme left on this and a number of other important values issues.

The President has promised to work to repeal DOMA.

This lawsuit will be a useful tool in that process.

In the set-up of this case, it is possible that with a victory, Massachusetts would be imposing its state laws regarding homosexual marriage onto the entire nation.

Washington State's HB 1727 and SB 5688 is a similar attempt to use litigation to achieve, in this case "marriage," for gays in the state.

Laurence Tribe, a constitutional law professor at Harvard Law School, says the lawsuit is a "plausible challenge" to DOMA.

Matt Staver, founder of Liberty Counsel said, "Massachusetts has made benefits available on a state level, but cannot force the federal government's hand or the other states to accept same-sex marriage."

However, if this case would in fact defeat DOMA that's exactly what would happen.

If HB 1727 and SB 5688 are passed in Washington, homosexuals will immediately file suit, claiming the state is discriminating against them because there is now no legal difference between domestic partners and marriage. That will also be a "plausible challenge". They will use the resulting law from HB 1727 and SB 5688 as proof.

With a complicit Governor and complicit, or at best, misled Legislature, it will be an easy step from where we are to where the homosexual activists want us to be. It will be a done deal.

This is why we are doing everything we can possibly do to defeat these bills. This is not, nor has it ever been primarily about benefits. It's about redefining marriage.

And this is why we are asking for your financial support and for you to call your elected officials and tell them you oppose these bills. These two bills are on the march and our time frame in which to act is very small.

Thanks for standing with us.
