Abortion Advocate: "All Life Is Not Equal"

Print Friendly Version of this pagePrint Get a PDF version of this webpagePDF
And that's just the beginning.

Mary Elizabeth Williams, author, abortion activist and writer for SALON has allowed the mask to slip. In fact in her recent article, the mask was removed.

She wrote, "While opponents of abortion eagerly describe themselves as 'pro-life', the rest of us have to scramble around with not nearly as big-ticket words like 'choice' and 'reproductive freedom'."

So she is admitting the pro-abortion advocates have been using euphemisms and propaganda to advance their agenda. Now they are admitting their words aren't working, so they are changing the words. And the narrative.

In a Blog a couple of weeks ago, I told our readers to watch for new words from Planned Parenthood. We said they would drop the "pro-choice" line because it doesn't work anymore.

Williams writes, "Planned Parenthood has taken the bold step of reframing the vernacular---moving away from the easy and easily divisive words like 'life' and 'choice'.

PP has produced a new promotional video explaining that abortion is not a black or white issue.

Boy Scouts Not Prepared

Print Friendly Version of this pagePrint Get a PDF version of this webpagePDF
The motto of the hundred-year-old Boy Scouts of America is, "Be Prepared." (Scout Handbook p.54)

I can still remember repeating the motto and doing the salute as a kid.

The Boy Scouts may not have been "prepared" for the reaction they are receiving after it was learned Monday that they are considering allowing professed homosexuals to serve as leaders, reversing their 110-year policy.

It appears they are about to get a different kind of salute. And a mass exodus.

And it's interesting what the Boy Scout leadership privately asked of the Southern Baptist Convention, the Mormon Church and Catholic Church.

Will The Boy Scouts Cave To Homosexual Bullying?

Print Friendly Version of this pagePrint Get a PDF version of this webpagePDF

For more than a hundred years, the Boy Scouts of America have had a policy regarding homosexuals in leadership.

Yesterday they released a statement that indicates things may change. Are the Scouts caving in to bullying from the leading homosexual activists groups?

But first. Last week we published a Blog alerting you to the "Reproductive Parity Act," a bill that requires anyone who buys maternity insurance, must also buy coverage for an abortion. Planned Parenthood and NARAL are the parents of this legislation. Their usual allies in the Legislature are pushing it for them. And they are pushing hard.

The bill is HB 1044. A hearing was announced yesterday for this Thursday, January 31 at 8 AM. The hearing will be held by the House Committee on Health Care & Wellness in the John L. O'Brien Building in Hearing Room B.

If you can attend, please do. If not please contact your District Representative and ask them to oppose the bill.

Calendar.

The New York Times and others are reporting in ways that imply the Scouts position change on gays is a done deal, however, the release does not suggest that. It will be considered in next week's board meeting. Homosexual activists are also talking like it is a done deal and they are already complaining that it does not go far enough.

This is yesterday's statement:

What Does The GOP Want? Control Or Leadership?

Print Friendly Version of this pagePrint Get a PDF version of this webpagePDF
People of faith and conservatives are starting to recover from substantial losses in this past election.

We experienced the second loss in a row nationally and worse in Washington State, with a loss by nearly every Republican running for statewide office, several districts losing races they should not have lost had they gotten proper support, marriage redefined and pot legalized.

However, the sun will come out tomorrow.

Indications of that are found in some of the discussions that are beginning---candid, transparent discussions.

One such discussion took place last week in the form of a speech Bobby Jindal, Governor of Louisiana, gave to the National Republican Committee.

There are two very different views trying to lead what has been the party where most conservatives and people of faith most closely identified.

One view was reflected by the campaign manager of Rob McKenna's failed attempt to become governor. Following their loss, he assured people who were asking what went wrong, that they should just stay the course, continue as we are and everything will be just fine.

Translated: Continue to pretend to be a secular progressive, but call yourself a "moderate," deny the very "divisive" social values your Party claims to represent, pretend to be a part of the faith community to get their vote and maybe you can beat the real secular progressives in an election.

The king has no clothes.

And Christians are smarter than some politicians think.

Jindal began his speech with, "You may not agree with me...and I may challenge many of your assumptions..."

While I do not agree with everything he said, this is certainly a move in the right direction. I thought you may want to be aware of the speech and the direction he and others are beginning to move nationally.

I see nothing similar to this in Washington State.....yet.

The following is an overview of his speech.

The King, The President and Fragile Freedom

Print Friendly Version of this pagePrint Get a PDF version of this webpagePDF
There is a growing awareness that Freedom, as we have known it in America, is quickly being eroded.

Executive actions, the current gun control attempts, Obamacare, decisions by the President not to defend certain federal laws (DOMA) with which he disagrees, using "creative" ways of increasing taxation and a number of other efforts to control and remake America, are causing concern and reaction.

CNS is reporting that sheriffs from Florida to California are standing against the Obama Administration and Congress, promising they will not enforce any policies that violate the Second Amendment. And it is not an isolated few. Read the linked story.

Just yesterday, Washington State lawmakers proposed a bill that will send more youth to rehab for illegally using guns. Clearly, there are kids who should not be able to touch a gun, but where can this and other similar laws take us? Are the motives of those proposing such laws pure, or is this simply an opportunity to advance an agenda? The law will not pass, but it certainly reflects the mood of the progressive movement.

Prominent athletes have recently stated they will relocate due to increased taxation.

And there are those suggesting---even advocating some kind of revolution.

And there are also those who are comparing our current repressive government to the abuses of King George III.

Are their comparisons valid?

I'm reminded of something Ronald Reagan once said.

President Obama: If God "Truly" Created Us Equal....

The President, in his Inaugural address, told America and the world that if God "truly" created us "equal," biblically condemned homosexual relations are morally equivalent to biblically affirmed heterosexual relations.

Abortion Industry On The Move In Olympia

Print Friendly Version of this pagePrint Get a PDF version of this webpagePDF
The abortion industry never stops its deadly efforts to expand.

A bill has been introduced that requires insurance policies in Washington State that provide maternity coverage to also provide coverage for abortions---they call it, "The voluntary termination of a pregnancy."

You may have heard Gov. Inslee reference his support for the Reproductive Parity Act. This is it. This bill is written to further support abortion rights. In the world of abortion as a right, choice, and women's health issue, the live birth and the dead birth of a baby is the same. It's not about the baby.

Another bill was presented Monday that would require parental notification before a girl under the age of 18 can get an abortion. Similar bills have been introduced in the past, but have been successfully aborted by abortion advocates before coming to a full vote.

Many feel this bill has a good chance. I agree.

Here are the details and what you can do now to make a difference.

"Forward", But What Would MLK Say About Obama, Poverty, Guns, Abortion, Etc.

Print Friendly Version of this pagePrint Get a PDF version of this webpagePDF
Today President Obama celebrates the inauguration of his second term as President of the United States.

What is "Forward" for secular progressives, is "mourning" for those who "cling" to traditional, biblical values and the principles and freedoms that made America the great nation it has become.

The inauguration of the first African American president is, of course, on MLK day.

The association causes us to wonder what Martin Luther King, Jr., would say about Obama, poverty, guns, abortion, etc.

I am not a student of MLK, but it has crossed my mind.

Mike DeVine has also given it some thought and has written a thoughtful article about it that might be a bit different than the associations that will be made today.

Washington State Most Pro-Abortion State In America

Print Friendly Version of this pagePrint Get a PDF version of this webpagePDF
...And Governor Inslee promises to keep it that way.

Americans United for Life has released their new list of states in the order of their commitment to life.

Washington State is #50...dead last.

It is the most pro-abortion state in the country.

Not only does it lead in redefining marriage and legalizing pot, but now in abortion.

My parents and grandparents buried in the Yakima Valley would not believe what their beloved state has come to.

In his inaugural speech this week, Governor Inslee affirmed he would stay the course on abortion.

Below are the Life List, the governor's comments and some Republican leaders responses.

Washington State Abortion Stats

Print Friendly Version of this pagePrint Get a PDF version of this webpagePDF
Most lawmakers are saying the primary focus this session has to be the budget shortfall. But of course, they said that last year, then proceeded to use most of the session to redefine marriage.

They probably really mean it this year.

However, we can be well assured that there will be extra-curricular activities as well.

Planned Parenthood will want more money.

Senator Ed Murray, Rep. Jamie Pederson and other homosexual activist members of the legislature will take further steps to revise existing laws and educational materials to conform with the new normal of homosexual "marriage."

Planned Parenthood recently released their annual report. While it is not surprising, it confirms what most of us thought. They are busy expanding the abortion industry. If you did not read that blog, you may want to glance at it.

But what's happening in Washington State regarding pregnancy related expenditures?

White House Redefines Diversity And Tolerance

Print Friendly Version of this pagePrint Get a PDF version of this webpagePDF
Initially, the White House had invited Pastor Louie Giglio, an evangelical pastor, well known for his extensive ministry in combating human trafficking around the world and leader of the Passion City Church in Roswell, GA., to give the benediction at the Inauguration of President Obama this month.

Now, the White House and other homosexual activists, including those at the Washington Post, have bullied him to withdraw from giving the high profile prayer.

He has graciously done so.

Why did the White House suddenly eliminate him from their program?

They said they wanted someone whose beliefs "reflect this administration's vision of inclusion and acceptance."

The White House action reflects anything but inclusion and acceptance.

Here's why they eliminated the pastor from the program.

Senator Ed Murray Censoring Prayer?

Print Friendly Version of this pagePrint Get a PDF version of this webpagePDF
As the Washington State Senate launched its 2013 session, some are offended by the opening prayer. They say it made a negative reference to same-sex marriage.

Senator Ed Murray released a statement saying it was "regrettable that we begin the 2013 session on a divisive note."

So what part of Pastor Jon Sanne's prayer was "regrettable"? And "divisive."

Planned Parenthood: "No More Choice"

Print Friendly Version of this pagePrint Get a PDF version of this webpagePDF
That's right. Planned Parenthood is through with "choice."

They say it doesn't work anymore. They also want to banish the terms "pro-life" and "pro-choice."

Although they have used these terms for decades, they are re-branding their abortion business.

Even though many in their support ranks still hold these terms near and dear, PP is throwing away the words, the old brand and likely some of their supporters.

Why? Because Planned Parenthood has been losing public favor in recent years and feel the need to re-invent their image.

And what about the old guard abortion supporters who are clinging to their "choice" and "pro-choice" mind set: well, away with them.

Among other things, Planned Parenthood demonstrated this past year that they are indeed fair weather friends when they threw Susan B. Komen under the bus because the organization felt they could not support some of PP's policies and discontinued funding them---for a few days.

The wrath of Planned Parenthood came down on them and in a matter of days Komen reconsidered, apologized, submitted and continued writing checks. Forget the activities that violated Komen's mission statement. Those Komen executives who had problem with PP are now gone.

I feel you should know about Planned Parenthood's new face and brand that is being implemented as we speak.

John Kerry. A Good Secretary Of State?

Print Friendly Version of this pagePrint Get a PDF version of this webpagePDF
President Obama believes John Kerry would make an "excellent" Secretary of State.

One of the blessings of living a while, is the wonderful memories.

One of the problems of living a while, is the ugly memories.

For those of us who were 20-something during the Vietnam era, there are a couple of personalities who linger in our memory. And it's an ugly memory.

Jane Fonda and John Kerry.

I'm sure they were both deeply misunderstood and meant not harm to their country with their words and deeds, but they sure hurt and maligned a lot of people who served our country during those years. Particularly those who left their limbs and other body parts in the jungles of Vietnam. And the families of those who lost their lives.

John McCain told me when people said the kind of things these two were saying, the guys in POW cells felt the consequences.

It probably wouldn't matter if John Kerry were simply making exercise videos, but failing to become President of the United States, he now wants to be Secretary of State.

And President Obama has said he would be "excellent."

If you have ever wondered what excellence looks like through the eyes of President Obama, watch the video of some of the comments of John Kerry over the past 42 years.

The Killing Continues At Planned Parenthood

Planned Parenthood released their annual report this week covering fiscal year 2011-2012. Their "health care" services for calendar year 2011 looks like this:
  • Taxpayer funding is up. Record high amount.
  • The number of abortions reached a record high.
  • Abortions made up 92% of Planned Parenthood's pregnancy services.
  • Cancer screening and prevention services continues to drop.
  • Planned Parenthood reported $87 million in excess revenue during the period.

Here are more numbers and details behind the assault on the unborn:

The Truth About Children With "Gay" Parents

Print Friendly Version of this pagePrint Get a PDF version of this webpagePDF
Stanford sociologist, Dr. Michael Rosenfeld, published a study this past year that has been widely used as a basis to advance and increase adoption of children to homosexuals.

Rosenfeld found, "No difference between children who are reared by heterosexual parents and those raised by homosexual couples."

His study has been widely used by homosexual advocates, including here in Washington State, and will likely be used again in the upcoming legislative session.

However, Rosenfeld's study has been found to be flawed.

Dr. Catherine Pakaluk of Ave Marie University and Dr. Joseph Price of Brigham Young University have reviewed the study and found a mistake in Rosenfeld's work that completely alters the outcome.

Their work has been published in the peer-reviewed University of Washington based "Demography."

Here is what they found.

Al Gore: A Tale Of 2 "Als"

Print Friendly Version of this pagePrint Get a PDF version of this webpagePDF
Former Vice President Al Gore, eco-warrior and enemy of fossil fuels, has sold his failing far left "Current TV" cable channel for $100,000,000. The New York Times reported the selling price at $500,000,000.

The buyer, Al Jazeera TV, is a state funded anti-American, anti-Israel, pro-Islamic television network based out of Qatar, which is one of the biggest of the big oil exporting countries in the world.

Al Jazeera TV is the network that provided a worldwide platform for Al Qaeda to "explain" why they had carried out the 9-11 attacks on our Pentagon and the World Trade Centers.

More recently they have aired a documentary which was sympathetic to Osama Bin Laden.

Al Jazeera is not friendly toward America and Israel. And they are funded by the oil revenues of Qatar.

Yes, I believe in free market capitalism.

Memo to Al: You have traveled the world telling us all that we must think and act "Green" or the Earth will overheat, the oceans will rise and life will end as we know it. Too many of our kids in state funded high schools and colleges have believed you. They have altered their lives to be more "Green." And are trying to alter other people's lives as well in trying to save the planet.

How can he spread the gospel of green, then cut a hundred million dollar deal (possibly $500,000,000) with one of the biggest fossil fuel exporters in the world?

How many trees will he need to plant to cover that indulgence?

The inconvenient truth seems to be that there are 2 Als and 2 Greens.

Al, the "environmentalist" advocates spending billions of other people's money to "Green" up the planet, investing in Solyndra type companies while refusing to support drilling by fossil fuel companies and enterprises.

Al, the opportunist appears to believe that "Green" has to do with the color of money in his wallet. Forget about carbon and all that stuff.

However, the most alarming part of this "Green" deal, at least to me, is the philosophical part of it. And the patriotic part.

You may be surprised to learn to whom Al Gore refused to sell his channel.

You probably won't be surprised to hear what Al Jazeera plans to do with the channel.

Guns And Hypocrisy

Print Friendly Version of this pagePrint Get a PDF version of this webpagePDF

As the kids at Sandy Hook Elementary School resume classes, we are once again reminded of the tragedy these kids and their parents will, to some degree, carry through the rest of their lives.

Our prayers are with the kids who will face emotions and memories most of us will never face and the parents who will endure loss and fears most of us will never endure.

It is clear we must address the issue of growing violence in our culture.

The looming question is what is the root cause? And how can we best address it?

Unfortunately, the Obama administration and his allies in the news media and the entertainment industry see this, it appears, as more of an "opportunity" to advance an ideology, than one to have an open honest discussion about the root cause of the violence. Relative values and secular progressivism excludes any consideration that the problem may have a spiritual component.

I have been stunned by the disingenuousness and hypocrisy of those tasked with finding a solution to the problem. And that of the President as well.

Let me be clear, I am not advocating that everyone should have a closet full of military assault rifles. I am, however, a strong advocate of the Second Amendment. And our God given freedoms in general.

Some things every American should know about:

5% Think Congress Is Doing A Good Or Great Job

Print Friendly Version of this pagePrint Get a PDF version of this webpagePDF
While these folks were hired (elected) by us to represent our best interests in a government that is supposed to be for, of and by the people, why do we continue to go along with their pattern of saying one thing at home and doing another in D.C.?

Even though only 5 in 100 of us think they are doing a good job, we most often lack the will or courage to fire them. And elect someone else.

The most recent failure to do what most Republican candidates promised the little people back home they would do is the so-called "fiscal cliff" deal which "saved" America the other night.

Did you know that 85 Republicans joined 172 Democrats to pass the measure? And did you know that the US Senate received the 154-page document only 3 minutes before they voted to approve it?

Judson Phillips of the Tea Party Nation is outraged. He said, "The Republican Party has now cast itself as the Official Tax Collector for the Great Obamacare State."

He is not the only one expressing concern about the number of Republicans who followed Speaker Boehner off a cliff of another kind in approving the measure. A measure that raises taxes on many small business owners, while providing no guaranteed spending cuts.

2 Out Of 3 Americans Believe In The God Of The Bible

Print Friendly Version of this pagePrint Get a PDF version of this webpagePDF
Happy New Year!

Welcome to 2013.

Since becoming President, Mr. Obama has proclaimed that America is no longer a "Christian" nation. Others are doing their part to perpetuate the notion that most people no longer hold Christian beliefs and values.

Atheist organizations mock God and Jesus Christ publicly, while Americans United for Separation of Church and State and the ACLU file suit after suit seeking to remove any vestige of Christian faith and morality from public life in America.

With the continuing shrill voice of these activists, and a few cultural defeats, good people of faith sometimes feel they truly are in the minority. Washington State Representative Jamie Pederson, who helped lead the campaign to redefine marriage, called people of biblical faith and values, "a dwindling minority." It is rather easy to feel that way in Washington State following the legalization of pot and so-called homosexual "marriage" this past year.

However, this is not consistent with how a majority of Americans actually feel.

A Rasmussen Poll published this past weekend reveals a very different America.
