"Bless You" Punished In The Classroom

Print Friendly Version of this pagePrint Get a PDF version of this webpagePDF
Steve Cuckovich, a health teacher at Wood High School in Vacaville, CA lowered a student's grade 25 points for saying "bless you" when someone sneezed.

Parents say it doesn't make sense. The principal says it makes no sense to him and the teacher went way overboard.

However, the teacher's explanation is more troubling to me than his action. And do you know where the phrase "Bless You" actually came from?

Be sure to participate in our reader's GOP presidential poll. We are voting on the top 5.

Our latest Washington State homosexual "marriage" survey will be out next week. Watch for it.

The teacher told KTXL News in Sacramento, "It's not...got anything to do with religion," (exact quote) explaining it had to do with interrupting the class.

Then the following mini lecture was given:

"The blessing really doesn't make sense anymore, when you sneezed in the old days, they thought you were dispelling evil spirits out of your body. So they were saying, 'God Bless You', for getting rid of evil spirits. But today, what you're doing really doesn't make sense."

What the teacher is doing really does make sense to me, and more importantly, to many parents in the school district and in California.

California public schools have become a battleground of attempts to punish and silence the voices of evangelical Christians in recent months. And they know it.

I have linked this story here. The story references several recent religious freedom cases in California public schools and evangelicals are taking note. You should be aware regardless of which state you live in.

In this context, the teacher's comments and explanation is troublesome and telling. If an educator chooses to use an age old expression as a "teaching" moment, the teacher should have some understanding of the age old expression.

If this teacher is conversant with the many possible and conflicting origins of the "bless you" phrase, he chose the most demeaning, degrading and pejorative explanations possible to share with the press and the kids and parents.

Snopes says of the phrase, "Some questions, no matter how simple, don't have one knowable answer. Though a number of 'explanations' exist for this custom, nothing points to any of them being it's origin."

Wikipedia says the origin is unknown, but gives several possibilities.

My point is not where the phrase came from, rather why did the teacher feel the need to expound on it since he said punishing the kid wasn't about religion, but about disrupting the classroom.

Then he made it about religion, because to him, it was all about religion.

Hypocrisy.

There are a number of public school teachers who are deeply committed to teaching our kids. However, there is a group of activists in classrooms across America who are closely aligned with the National Education Association's political and social agenda, who are overtly pro-abortion, pro-homosexual agenda, anti-Christian, anti-American and take every opportunity to socially indoctrinate our children. Division is often created between parents who are teaching their children Judeo-Christian values at home and the social experimentation being advanced in the public school's classrooms.

I think this is one more example of what happens day in and day out in too many public schools.

NBC's Playboy "Bunnies" Stumble Toward Extinction

Print Friendly Version of this pagePrint Get a PDF version of this webpagePDF
NBC's Playboy Club is all but extinct. While some in the industry are trying to resuscitate it with their published words, America has said "No".

I think it will be gone in a couple of weeks.

The ratings are continuing to fall and now 7 advertisers have pulled out.

You should know which advertisers have pulled out and who has committed to stay the course, and why.
________

Be sure to vote in our readers GOP presidential candidate poll. The top 5 from our 2 previous polls are listed in the order of number of votes received from you. Click here to vote.
________

Faith and Freedom has commissioned a statewide survey asking if Washingtonians support legalizing homosexual "marriage". We will be releasing the results next week. Watch for them.

Many of our readers signed our petition, joining millions of others across the country, asking NBC to pull its program, "The Playboy Club." NBC refused to listen to the people. Now they are paying the price.

Ratings dropped another 19% this week and now advertisers are pulling out.

These companies have pulled out: Kraft, Sprint, Lenovo, UPS Store, Subway, P.F. Chang and Campbell's Soup.

Chrysler is staying in, explaining they want to share their product with the most diverse audience possible.

Memo to Chrysler: There is no audience.

ABC's "Dancing With The Stars" had 16 million viewers with a 3.3 ranking which is its lowest rated performance show to date.

The entertainment industry continues to prop them up reporting they beat other network shows, but most often have failed to mention that many of the other shows they beat were re-runs. Their ratings are considerably below previous years.

The media's commitment to the homosexual agenda runs deep, but it seems sad to me that the media seeks only to exploit Chaz Bono and his gender confusion, when perhaps they could be of some help.

Attempting to normalize gender confusion is costing the network both viewers and money.

Gender dysphoria is a serious issue for individuals. Rather than trying to cram a message down the throats of Americans and lose millions of advertising dollars in the process, perhaps ABC and Chaz would be better served if the network reached out to help Chaz and others who suffer from gender confusion.

Just a thought.

Abortion = 38% of Income to Planned Parenthood

Print Friendly Version of this pagePrint Get a PDF version of this webpagePDF
Blind support for Planned Parenthood, regardless of the truth, is a growing anomaly to many of us.

Planned Parenthood is an organization founded by eugenicist Margaret Sanger, with a legacy of racism and eugenics toward Blacks; an organization repeatedly caught on video performing or advocating illegal acts and one that has consistently told the American public that abortion is only about "3% of our business."

If abortion is so acceptable and appropriate---a right, why must they continuously downplay its importance in their business plan?

Taxpayer dollars? Probably.

An honest look at Planned Parenthood's own reporting shows that they are using a deceptive method of accounting to arrive at the 3% and that abortion is really 38.4% of their business.

Here's a clear look at their business and deceptive reporting model.

We have listed the Top 5 GOP presidential candidates from our 2 previous readers polls. They are listed in the order of votes received from our readers. Your participation will help others to know what consensus exists today among conservative people of faith who read this blog. We are asking you, "If the election were held today, which GOP candidate would you vote for?" Please take a moment and participate. Click here to vote.

Planned Parenthood is using misleading math to get to the 3% they tout as they collect tax dollars. Often from pro-life citizens who strongly disagree with the concept of abortion.

They report that out of 100 services they perform, 3, or 3%, are abortions. The truth is that the cost and income involved is much more than 3% of their efforts.

David Schmidt, a former Boeing intern during his college years, now a spokesman for LIVE ACTION, has researched Planned Parenthood's own reports and found that abortion represents 38.4% of their business. I strongly recommend you read the link above.

This is part of his findings with the links:

THE TRUTH

This means that fully 38.4% of Planned Parenthood health center income comes directly from aborting unborn children.

Berkeley Bake Sale: Revelation On Diversity And Affirmative Action

Print Friendly Version of this pagePrint Get a PDF version of this webpagePDF
When you think of conservatism, University of California Berkeley would rarely come to mind.

You've heard the phrase, "out of the mouths of babes," which is a quote referring to Psalms 8:2 in the Old Testament and later quoted by Jesus in Matthew 21:16, well---this time "the babes" are a group of students at Berkeley. That's right, Berkeley.

They conducted a bake sale this past weekend to raise some serious questions about the far left, so-called progressive doctrine of diversity and affirmative action.

Is government enforced diversity and affirmative action racist and demeaning? Or is it fulfilling a Scriptural mandate?

Their post on Facebook announcing the on-campus sale last week went viral and the far left liberals at Berkeley are in full mode damage control.

Here's what happened.

Our current GOP candidate poll (the remaining 4 of 9 candidates) will be up through tonight. Wednesday we will combine results from this past weekend and the current poll for a Top 5 Poll. Our question is: If the election were held today, which GOP candidate would you vote for? Click here to vote.

In a prayer, Jesus thanked the Heavenly Father, "That you have hidden these things from the wise and prudent and have revealed them to babes." (Matthew 11:25)

This bake sale was a revelation.

California Democrat state Senator Ed Hernandez introduced a bill, SB185, which asks California State University, "to consider race, gender, ethnicity and national origin, along with other relevant factors, in undergraduate and graduate admissions."

The bill is currently waiting signature from Governor Jerry Brown.

The original Facebook posting noted that “Most students feel that their voices aren't heard in the baked goods distribution process controversy. They also believe that our UCs and CSUs need to be more diverse. YOU have the OPPORTUNITY to increase DIVERSITY and student VOICES by buying some PASTRIES and helping redistribute wealth for SOCIAL JUSTICE through BAKED GOODS on Sproul Plaza (9/27/11).”

It continued:

Berkeley College Republicans will be SELLING BAKED GOODS from 10 AM – 2PM across from the Affirmative Action Phonebank on Upper Sproul, and just like the CA Senate Bills 185 and 387 the phonebank supports, we will be considering RACE, GENDER, ETHNICITY, NATIONAL/GEOGRAPHIC ORIGIN and other relevant factors to ensure the EQUITABLE distribution of BAKED GOODS to our DIVERSE! student body.

"Hope to see you all there! If you don’t come, you’re a racist!”

The pricing of cupcakes was as follows:

$2 for white people.

$1.50 for Asians.

$1 for Latinos.

75 cents for African-Americans.

25 cents for Native Americans.

Women of all races get a discount off these prices.

Campus Republican President Shawn Lewis, who planned the event, told KGO-TV in San Francisco, "The pricing structure is there to bring attention, to cause people to get a little upset."

"But it's really there," he said, "to cause people to think more critically about what this kind of policy would do in university admissions."

As you can imagine, the backlash has been significant. Both implicit and explicit threats have been made to the organizers of the event.

Secular, progressive sensibilities have been bruised. The religious left "social justice" people have been offended.

The press carried the story nationally yesterday. As you would know, overwhelmingly they have disagreed with the conservative "baby" citizens at Berkeley. A mild example was published in the Washington Post. Some national stories were much more harsh.

A more in depth article by Arnold Ahlert was published by Front Page Magazine. I suggest you read it.

The elite, progressive left prides themselves in "critical" thinking. Yet, when a statement is made or a truth revealed contrary to their social doctrine, we discover just how open minded and critical thinking they really are. Not so much.

The original Facebook page has now been removed following the enormous backlash. The current message explains the "Pricing structure of the baked goods was intended to be satirical, while urging students to think more critically about the implications of this policy."

On a campus renowned for its far leftist orthodoxy, will they continue to pretend that a merit based society and a racial/gender bean counting can some how co-exist?

Arnold Ahlert concludes, "A simple bake sale reveals the bankruptcy of such ideology."

As Christians, we are instructed to help the poor and disadvantaged. However, is this kind of government mandated social justice what Jesus had in mind?

Do you believe affirmative action helps or hurts those to whom it is directed? Or does it create a perpetually dependant society? And a creatively diminishing one?

What do you think?

Spokane Planned Parenthood: "Committed To Privacy"

Print Friendly Version of this pagePrint Get a PDF version of this webpagePDF
Detectives have served a search warrant on the Spokane Planned Parenthood to recover DNA from the remains of an aborted baby, the Spokesman Review reported Friday.

The mother of the baby was an unidentified 15-year-old. The father---a 21-year-old man.

Also, please participate in our reader's poll. This past weekend we asked you to choose from 5 of the 9 GOP candidates whom you would vote for if the election were held today. Today through Tuesday night, we are putting up the remaining 4 of the 9 GOP candidates. Wednesday we will ask you to choose from the top 5 from both polls. Click here to vote.

Spokane authorities learned of the case from the girl's parents. Planned Parenthood did not notify them even though it involved statutory rape.

Steven Ertelt at LIFENEWS also reported Friday that, "The abortion business has come under fire for years for not identifying young women who are victims of statutory rape and not reporting those rape cases to authorities for prosecution."

"Knowing they can hide evidence of their crimes," Ertelt says, "criminals have taken young women to Planned Parenthood for abortions that could potentially hide their DNA and prevent officials from proving cases against them."

Planned Parenthood would not talk to the newspaper about the case.

Rather, they released a statement touting their privacy policy and said, "We are proud to partner with law enforcement in order to protect the health and safety of our patients."

Everyone better be "proud" to partner with the authorities when they serve you with a search warrant.

Ertelt provides an overview of Planned Parenthood's long history of covering up cases of sexual abuse.

And once again Planned Parenthood proves they are the face of evil. And operate in part with your tax dollars.

Which GOP Candidate Would You Vote For Today?

Print Friendly Version of this pagePrint Get a PDF version of this webpagePDF
After several debates and some time to think about Thursday's GOP debate, if the election were held today who would you vote for?

The most recent GOP candidate poll I could find is the McClatchy/Marist Poll. It was of course, taken before last night's debate. Here are their results:

• 30% for Texas Governor Rick Perry
• 22% for former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney
• 12% for Minnesota Congresswoman Michele Bachmann
• 7% for Texas Congressman Ron Paul
• 6% for former Georgia Congressman Newt Gingrich
• 5% for businessman Herman Cain
• 2% for former Pennsylvania Senator Rick Santorum
• 1% for former U.S. Ambassador to China Jon Huntsman
• 15% are undecided

I don't believe former New Mexico Governor Gary Johnson was included in the Marist poll. But will be in upcoming polls.

Florida will have a 5 straw vote on the candidates tomorrow. The results will be very interesting following last night's debate.

We would like to poll our readers. Our poll program will only accommodate 5 names, so we have listed the top 5 in the McClatchy/Marist Poll today. We are asking you to vote today and over the weekend on these 5. If your GOP choice is not among these 5, don't vote. We will list the remaining 4 on Monday and give people 2 days to cast their vote.

Then we will post a top 5 from both lists for a final vote by our readers.

The results are live. Please participate and watch the results. Click here to vote in our readers poll. These results are not life and death important, but it will be interesting to see the results at this point.

Have a great weekend.

"Dancing" and "The Playboy Club" Bomb On Debut

Print Friendly Version of this pagePrint Get a PDF version of this webpagePDF
As we suggested might happen, ABC's "Dancing With The Stars" fell significantly from its premiere show a year ago and NBC's "Playboy Club" was a bomb, based on all the hype, promotion and expectation. Even NBC expressed disappointment.

People are tolerant, but enough is enough. Millions of Americans decided a lesson in transgenderism by "Chaz" and ABC was not entertaining, so they didn't show up to watch ABC Monday evening. "Dancing With The Stars" dropped 11% in viewers over their opening show last year. More significantly, they were down 22% in the all-important 18-49 age group.

While some were trying to use the very successful debut of "Two and A Half Men" on CBS as an excuse for the significant decrease in viewers on "Dancing," people in the industry are saying it was more than that.

"The Play Boy Club," which many of you petitioned against, bombed. With the full force of NBC's advertising, including the various cable channels owned by NBC promoting it, "Play Boy" only drew 5 million viewers. Critics in the industry called the debut "dismal" and "disastrous." I would call it victorious.

Personally, I think the show will be canceled sooner than later. The networks seem to have a slow learning curve. There are still millions of people who watch television simply to be entertained---not indoctrinated.

Couple Fined For Hosting Bible Study In Their Home

Print Friendly Version of this pagePrint Get a PDF version of this webpagePDF
I've personally know Christians and Christian pastors who have been fined and imprisoned for "illegal" home Bible studies.

But that was in a different country---far, far away. Not here.

Chuck and Stephanie Fromm have been fined $300 for hosting a Bible study in their home in San Juan Capistrano, CA.

The municipal code prohibits "religious, fraternal or non-profit" organizations in residential neighborhoods with out a conditional use permit.

So the city has fined them.

The Fromms do not have, nor are they starting an "organization". It is a gathering of like minded friends getting together to study the Bible in a private home.

The city says one person in the upscale neighborhood complained.

Outrageous.

The city is wrong on this one and that's probably why they are not returning calls on the matter.

The bigger question may be; can one person take away the freedom of another in matters of religious beliefs and gatherings in private homes? Clearly the city code has not been broken.

It's happening too often. A few vocal homosexual activists have re-defined many aspects of our culture and continue to do so with the support of a complicit press and an extreme left President. At the expense of millions of Americans who believe otherwise.

It seems a small minority is moving America away from our founding principles and faith.

And now one person can deny a couple religious freedom in their own home.

Obama's " LGBT-Q" US Military

Print Friendly Version of this pagePrint Get a PDF version of this webpagePDF
Once again the President has dispatched all the president's men and all the president's horses in his crusade to re-define the culture---and keep the much needed homosexual vote.

The implementation of the repeal of the "Don't Ask-Don't Tell" policy is set to begin today.

Many feel his actions are at the expense of the US legislative process, freedom to express personal religious beliefs and the readiness of the United States military.

In his rush to keep the gay vote, President Obama's people have cut corners, disregarded requests from lawmakers for documents related to the repeal, generally trashing the process, and actually drafted the final report on the impact of repealing "Don't Ask- Don't Tell" before the surveys were even sent to the troops.

All this to build his "LGBT-Q" cultural experiment in the US military. And to get the homosexual vote.

Senior House Armed Services Committee leaders have written a stunning letter to the President's Sec. of Defense Leon Panetta saying, "not so fast."

In the letter, Chairman "Buck" McKeon and personnel subcommittee Chairman Joe Wilson, have called for a delay in the implementation. For valid reasons.

The Washington Times published a very informative article on this matter yesterday.

Here are the reasons contained in the letter:

1. "The Department is not ready to implement the repeal because all policies and regulations necessary for the transition are not final yet." The President's men are planning to circulate a PowerPoint presentation, rather than military personnel actually getting the policies and regs in writing as required by law.

But it gets worse.

2. McKeon cites a Defense Department inspector general's investigation report, which revealed that the favorable and "exalted" 2010 Pentagon survey on homosexuals serving openly in the military was "so pre-determined that the final report was being drafted before the surveys were even sent to the troops."

3. Committee officials still have not received documents that comply with the requirements for public review and comment.

4. The President's handling of the matter "insulted the legislative and oversight responsibilities of the House of Representatives."

5. During the hearings in April, when committee members asked questions about the effect of the new policy on fundamentally important issues like personal privacy, marriage benefits and religious rights of conscience, the Pentagon witnesses often simply said "I don't know." Then who does know?

6. The whole Obama mission undermines DOMA, and in doing so undermines the legislative process of our country. It pretends DOMA does not exist.

Pretending may well be the Hallmark of this administration.

I agree with the Washington Times article:

President Obama made a political promise to LGBT-Q activists and Defense Department appointees who have been dispatched to re-structure the military with political correctness and payback for votes, have created a shaky house of cards that is destined to collapse.

I only hope and pray their mission collapses before they bring down the ability of our military to a point where it compromises our military personnel and the country itself.

On a related note- The LGBT-Q activists are so confident of the President that they are launching a new homosexual military magazine today, the same day the repeal is to be implemented. The magazine will be available at US military bases across the world. The first of its kind magazine focuses on the homosexual lifestyle in the military and, according to those publishing it, reaches out to those who are lonely and to those who disagree with the repeal of the "Don't Ask - Don't Tell " policy.

The publishers say the magazine is free.

And today the homosexual activists will get up and say, "See, the sky didn't fall. The world didn't end. Our enemies didn't defeat us. We are strong. All is well. Peace and safety."

And the press will report it in a million creative ways.

And then...?

What about 20 years from now? The next generation? Beyond? Actions have consequences.

The Gathering Marriage Storm in Washington State

Print Friendly Version of this pagePrint Get a PDF version of this webpagePDF
It is not uncommon to see the clouds roll silently across the Puget Sound, pushing, sometimes crashing into the Cascades creating storms and defining convergence zones. Often these storms are quiet and unannounced, while in Central and Eastern Washington incoming storms are most often announced with lightening and thunder.

When Marjorie and I moved from Yakima to Kirkland and later to Bellevue in 1964, the unusual and different storm patterns took some adjustment.

There is a storm gathering across the state and it involves the massive push to redefine marriage. And in doing so redefine and undermine the very foundation of family and the culture.

At the eye of the gathering storm: Should Washington State Legalize Homosexual "Marriage"?

It could be preceded by lightening and thunder as well as the silent rain.

Senator Ed Murray and several other homosexual Legislators say, "Now is the time."

The Seattle Times Editorial Board says, "Yes," now is the time. KOMO's Ken Schram says, "Yes" go for it.

Most of the media across the state echo the Seattle press.

Gov. Gregoire is a proven friend and ally to those who wish to redefine marriage. Who knows what Secretary of State Sam Reed believes? Or Attorney General Rob McKenna, for that matter.

While there are several reasons why they feel now is the time, they often refer to the homosexual "marriage" bill that passed recently in New York State. The social and cultural climate of New York is often compared to that of Washington State. Both Northeast or Northwest, liberal leaning states that vote Democrat.

I believe they may be right, because they are looking at the issue through a lens not ground in reality or morality, but in the isolation of the closet. The homosexual activists are out of touch and too many legislators are believing their own press releases on issues of morality and political correctness.

Last Tuesday, September 13, the people of New York spoke to their legislature very clearly about redefining marriage. They strongly disagreed with their legislators on marriage.

They rejected Democrat David Weprin who voted for homosexual "marriage" in the New York state Assembly, and elected, by an 8 point margin, Republican Bob Turner who is a conservative Catholic and strongly supports marriage as between one man and one woman.

This seat had been held by a Democrat since 1923.

Days before the election the Washington Post was warning the liberal community that "Assemblyman David Weprin is in a surprisingly close race for a House seat in New York."

As it turned out, it wasn't even close.

The Post wrote, "Democrats are already blaming New York Democratic nominee David Weprin's vote for same-sex marriage from when he was in the state Assembly."

Following the election, the New York Times pointed a finger at the pro-homosexual vote as a good part of Weprin's substantial loss.

Sen. Ed Murray says he is going all out in the upcoming legislative session to crush DOMA and redefine marriage. He will be presenting a bill to legalize so-called homosexual "marriage".

We believe a majority of Washingtonians are somewhat like New York citizens and oppose redefining marriage.

I believe Sen. Murray believes that as well. That's why he is trying to redefine marriage by legislative action, not by a vote of the people.

As I write this we, along with a good number of others---including a number of pro-marriage legislators, are forming an alliance that will work together with a simple and singular focus; to defeat Murray's bill in the Legislature.

We will be personally talking to legislators who have been wobbly on marriage in the past. You may recall Republican Cherl Pfluge (5th district) voted in favor of the "everything but marriage" bill Murray previously sponsored. Republican Curtis King (14th district--Yakima ) also voted for it. The Senate Caucus will present a challenge for Murray and those who seek to redefine marriage.

If the bill should pass, we will take an appropriate initiative action to repeal it.

Faith and Freedom is incurring expenses in preparation for the gathering storm. We are surveying citizens across the state at this time. We are working with others of like mind to not only stand, but prevail in the coming assault on society's most fundamental cornerstone---marriage.

Your financial support is very much needed at this time. What ever you can do will help. There can be no compromise on this issue.

If you believe homosexual "marriage" is a right, a civil right or simply an act of fairness and equality you have been misled.

Homosexual activists are demanding that you redefine marriage to accommodate their sexual behavior.

This is a time to stand, not waver. Speak, not be silent. Your support will allow us to stand and have a voice.

Paid For By Faith and Freedom PAC

The administrator of the Faith and Freedom PAC has told us we need 10 registered voters in Washington State to give a minimum of $10 to the PAC to re-activate it. There is about $1000 in the account and we would like to start distributing those funds and others which will be raised in the future toward electing and re-electing those lawmakers who support conservative, Christian social values. And helping to defeat those who do not.

We cannot disburse any funds until the PAC is re-activated.

ABC Will Challenge Traditional Values

Print Friendly Version of this pagePrint Get a PDF version of this webpagePDF
With a straight face, ABC has cast Chaz Bono as one of their "stars" on this season's "Dancing With The Stars".

The public has reacted---many negatively. But ABC moves forward blazing their so-called "civil rights" trail.

Many parents have expressed outrage and concern that the celebration of transgenderism will create confusion among children who may watch the show. ABC is assuring parents everything will be okay.

Television thrives on controversy---they call it publicity buzz. The industry feels they win whether people tune in because they hate what they are doing or because they love it. A win-win for ratings.

This outing could prove to be different.

Many Americans remember the cute little Chastity Bono who appeared with her parents on the Sonny and Cher show on CBS. Well, Chastity has become "Chaz". She says she is now a man. And Disney owned ABC says hey, this is an opportunity to advance an agenda we believe in and make some points with the homosexual community and spike our ratings. A counter programming move after having Bristol Palin on the show last year.

I seriously doubt either Bristol or Chaz were chosen for their dancing skills.

But there is a difference between Bristol's appearance and that of Chaz. Palin never mentioned or promoted her message of abstinence while on the show last year. Nor did anyone on the show. Palin simply increased viewership because she is her mother's daughter.

Does anyone believe Chaz and the announcers- judges- M.C. etc., will do the shows without mention or reference to the homosexual agenda of Chaz and the Human Rights Campaign and other organizations she/he speaks for? ABC will not only get the message out, but will prove how politically correct, tolerant and inclusive they are.

If Chaz dances as a man, and obviously she will, without any promotional comments, the LGBT crowd will storm the gates of both Disney and ABC.

This will be an educational opportunity, a teaching moment for those---especially kids, in the audience who don't understand and think that "transgender" is not normal.

It will confuse children.

Brent Bozell is an expert on how the media manipulates the public. He has written an article titled, "Dancing With The Lecturers," describing what is really happening with this latest move to normalize that which is perverse. I strongly recommend you read it.

I agree with Bozell's conclusion: "Nowhere in any of this celebration is the hard reality. Despite her low voice, and her side burns and her awful decision to amputate her own breasts, 'Chaz' remains a woman. It's ridiculous for ABC to argue children won't be confused by this political-correctness crusade. The entire "transgender" propaganda movement is confused. Indeed, there is a new sexual category to go along with G, L, B, and T,---Q for questioning."

Bozell says, "ABC and the rest of the media universe can do all the pretending they want, but that's not going to make Chaz a real male."

Indeed.

I can assure you, me and my house will not be watching, "Dancing With The Stars," and I would not be surprised if this outing doesn't backfire on ABC. There is still a sense of decency and normalcy in America and this is neither.

A President's Faith: Does It Matter?

Print Friendly Version of this pagePrint Get a PDF version of this webpagePDF
While 56% of the public says it matters---the press and the activist left have multiple answers, depending on the candidate.

Democrat and Republican citizens agree, according to a new survey, that they want a president who believes in God. Forget the press and the secular lefties.

A study by Public Religion Research Institute has found that over 70% of Republicans and over 50% of Democrats want a president who has strong religious beliefs.

While activist atheist and progressive liberal groups join the complicit media in attempting to marginalize and often mock religious, particularly Christian beliefs, the public isn't buying it.

A recent Rasmuessen Poll found 73% of Americans believe the media is more interested in creating controversy than actually helping people discover what candidates believe.

The PRRI study found that 56% say it is important to very important for them to know what a candidate believes, even if they hold a different belief.

Oh, my. Do you remember?

It was only a year ago that the Washington Post's "On Faith" blog was telling Americans that they care too much about faith, when they were asking about President Obama's faith, religious practices and why he didn't attend church regularly.

They, of course, quoted their favorite verse from the Constitution: "No religious test shall ever be required as a qualification to any office or public trust under the United States." (Art. VI, sect. 3)

And only three years ago the press was giving cover to candidate Obama for his 20 years of sitting under the hate, racist and anti American teaching of Rev. Wright.

Now the media is driving the "faith" talk.

From Michele Bachmann's biblical belief regarding her relationship with her husband, to her husband's biblical belief regarding personal restoration and deliverance from the homosexual lifestyle, to Rick Perry's prayer meeting, to Mitt Romney's Mormonism, they are getting to the bottom of it all. With more to come.

Fortunately, 3 out of 4 Americans see their hypocrisy.

Just last year, the Seattle Times Editorial Board, demonstrated that same hypocrisy, while stating that John Koster was highly qualified to represent the second Congressional District, they could not endorse him because of his personal religious---pro-life, pro-marriage, beliefs.

What was that about "no religious test shall ever....."? Evidently, the press has concluded that the "test" ban only applies to not voting for an atheist, secularist, Muslim, etc., but has no applicable or binding value for not voting for someone because they hold Christian values and beliefs.

The public gets it. The press charges forward with their agenda, carrying a large pink banner that reads, "Unbiased," while thinking they are doing harm to conservative candidates of faith. The public is observing with sincere interest in what the candidates believes, understanding the media has a very different motive.

Bill Keller, with the New York Times, silent during the "Obama goes to Rev. Wright's church" discussion, has now created a faith questionnaire for Republican candidates to fill out.

Relativism provides the opportunity to hold multiple beliefs for multiple occasions. And remain true to your beliefs, whatever they may be at any given moment. That sure takes the pressure off doesn't it? You can believe in abortion and the sanctity life simultaneously. You can believe in the Bible, celebrate homosexuality, while eliminating all the bothersome teachings about it.

Rachel Zoll, with Associated Press wrote an article the other day about all this titled, "Theology A Hot Issue In 2012 GOP Campaign." Indeed it is, for a variety of reasons.

Kathleen Flake, who specializes in American religious history at Vanderbilt University says, "The voting public no longer believes, as they did as late as the 1950s, that religion was about what you thought and not what you did."

Surprise. There are those among us, as far back as the early Christian Apostles, Martin Luther, Wesley, Calvin, many of our Founding Fathers and millions of evangelicals who have understood that our personal faith drives our actions and conduct. Therefore, it is important.

Kathleen Flake tells Zoll, "For the first time, we're not only interested in whether someone is religious, which is essentially a question of, 'Do you have a morality that the voter can identity with?' It appears that there's a significant portion of the electorate that's interested in what the particular theology of a candidate is. Do they believe in Jesus? If so, what kind of Jesus do you believe in?"

The 2012 Presidential Election: Life and Death

Print Friendly Version of this pagePrint Get a PDF version of this webpagePDF
It is clear to most Americans where President Obama stands on the issue of life---and abortion.

His words have been voluminous about the importance of life, while his actions give a very clear message: "Increase funding to abortion industry giant Planned Parenthood."

If you are pro-abortion, President Obama is your guy.

But how do the Republican Presidential candidates stand on abortion?

LIFENEWS has researched the position of each GOP candidate. This is what they found:

Michele Bachmann:

Rick Santorum:

The presidential election next year has the power to shape the future of abortion for decades -- as the next president may have Supreme Court appointments who could determine the future of Roe and the status of legal abortions for many years. With a tenuous pro-abortion majority on the high court now, a pro-life president gives unborn children real hope for change.

Rescue from the Rubble

Print Friendly Version of this pagePrint Get a PDF version of this webpagePDF
Genelle Guzman-McMillian, an employee at the World Trade Centers on 9-11, remembers how she lay buried in the rubble for nearly 30 hours. She remembers the screams for help in the darkness. And she remembers the eventual silence.

Then, a miracle. Trapped in the rubble of concrete and steel, she remembered the teaching of her youth---that there is a God, that He loves you and He hears and answers prayer.

She extended her left hand upward into a sliver of open space in the rubble---and prayed. And prayed for God to rescue and save her.

Then someone grabbed her hand, called her by name and said, "My name is Paul, I've got you." She would be the last one saved from the rubble. The last survivor.

She shares the details of this miracle and the personal, spiritual transformation that has taken place in her life over the past 10 years in her book titled, "Angel In The Rubble: The Miraculous Rescue of 9-11's Last Survivor."

It's an inspiring story, appropriately told, one of many over this past weekend.

We must never forget what happened and who did it. We must, as Americans, remain vigilant.

Genelle's and other accounts have also given us a profound take away truth that also must be remembered.

It occurred to me that while each of us were forever impacted by the events of 9-11, most of us were not in New York City that September morning, yet there is a spiritual parallel story found in millions of people's lives today.

Wrong decisions, rebellion, abandonment of our Christian upbringing, broken relationships, immoral and deviant behavior and a myriad of personal failures finds many in the rubble of a broken, collapsed life. Sometimes driven by fear, or simply a lack of knowing the truth, we realize we have reached the end, and do not know where to turn.

The message? Reach up. Regardless of what you have done or believed in the past, God loves you and can perform a spiritual miracle in your life.

Paul, of the New Testament, had spent his life persecuting and killing Christians, believing it to be a mandate from God. But in a spiritual moment, his eyes were opened and his life transformed. There are millions of other similar testimonies.

We must remember 9-11. But perhaps there is an equally important message for us today, in the rubble, with little or no hope.

Reach up. God loves you. Regardless of your circumstances. He can and will rescue and restore you.

God bless you.

9-11-11: The Day the Mayor Snubbed God

Print Friendly Version of this pagePrint Get a PDF version of this webpagePDF
Is Mayor Bloomberg acting in, "The Way of New York."

Most of us remember exactly where we were and what we were doing the day New York City and America was attacked and nearly 3000 citizens were killed by Muslim terrorists. In fact you will recall, Allan Jackson wrote and released a song which asked, "Where were you when the world stopped turning?"

Lawmakers stood on the steps of the Capitol and sang "God Bless America," people prayed and turned to God. Christian churches saw increased attendance in the weeks that followed.

NBC's "Meet The Press" even eulogized the chaplain of the New York City Fire Department.

Vice President Dick Cheney was a guest on that first "Meet The Press" following 9-11. He spoke of the dark side of the evil that had been manifested toward America that day.

In his new memoir he recalls what I remember watching. Perhaps you saw it as well. And remember.

Cheney writes, "Tim Russert closed the interview with a remembrance of Father Mychal Judge, the chaplain of the New York City Fire Department," Cheney writes.

Quoting Russert, he continues: "Father Mike was killed at the World Trade Center on 9-11 by falling debris as he administered last rites to a first responder. Tim told of firefighters who carried Father Mike's body to their firehouse and together with Father Mike's fellow Franciscans sang the prayer of Saint Frances."

"That," said Russert, "is the way of New York. That is the spirit of America."

Bloomberg is not acting in, "The Way of New York." Nor is he acting in, "The spirit of America."

He is denying America's identity. And her spirit.

On July 2, 1776, George Washington, as the Continental Congress was meeting in Philadelphia to declare independence, was gathering his troops on Long Island to meet the enemy as they prepared to storm New York City.

That day he wrote General Orders to his men, reminding them they were serving for a just cause and that they were serving under God.

His orders said in part, "The time is now near at hand which must probably determine whether Americans are to be freemen or slaves...the fate of unborn millions will now depend, under God, on the courage and conduct of this army. Our cruel and unrelenting enemy leaves us no choice but a brave resistance...Let us therefore rely upon the goodness of the cause, and the aid of the Supreme Being in whose hands the victory is..."

Prayer and seeking God's provision is indelibly imprinted in the identity of America.

The Michael Bloombergs come and go, but the abiding knowledge of our need of God remains with millions of Americans.

Patrick Henry, a Founder, a patriot and an evangelical Christian, reminded his friends and colleagues:

"When people forget God, tyrants forge their chains." Also a reminder for 9-11-11.

We encourage you to take a moment this weekend and join George Washington, Patrick Henry, the firemen in New York and millions of other Americans, especially on Sunday, to acknowledge our need for God and ask for His blessing and provision.

Ask for courage to resist those enemies that would destroy us and the foundations of the world's greatest country---founded on God's principles. A city on a hill.

Fortunately, millions of New Yorkers and Americans are not snubbing God, only an elected official who has overreached in his attempt to prove his own elevated virtue of tolerance and diversity.

"And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart."
Gal. 6:9

The Debate

Print Friendly Version of this pagePrint Get a PDF version of this webpagePDF
My wife and I watched the Republican debate last night. The whole thing. Start to finish. We skipped the post debate commentary on MSNBC.

However, I was interested in how the print media presented the debate within minutes after it was completed.

"Sparks fly," "Perry, Romney clash..." and so on and so on.

I was struck by two things.

First, while there are clearly front runners emerging at this time, there was not a person on the stage that I personally could not support for President of the United States over our current President.

My preference is developing. I'm sure yours is as well.

I, as you, have seen the media repeatedly refer to the cast of candidates as boring, no clear leader, not impressive, etc.

I saw a very diverse group of personalities who all love their country and believe they can serve and help the country as President. I believe they are all qualified to be President.

Perhaps the most memorable comment was from Newt Gingrich. He probably said what many of us were thinking.

"I for one and I hope that all my friends up here are going to repudiate every effort of the news media to get Republicans to fight each other to protect Barack Obama who deserves to be defeated. And all of us are committed as a team. Whoever the nominee is, we are all for defeating Barack Obama."

The performance of NBC's Brian Williams and POLITICO's John Harris was pathetic, designed to advance their own personal agenda rather than to facilitate the event. And Harris should stay with writing. Television does not seem to be his strong suit.

Predictably, HUFFPOST and other similar news outlets defended the moderators with, "The debate organizers were simply trying to help voters determine the differences between the candidates."

I don't think so.

The news media confirmed what most of us already knew, while the candidates affirmed what many of us have hoped for: Better days are ahead.

CBS: "Does God Use Weather to Send Messages?"

Print Friendly Version of this pagePrint Get a PDF version of this webpagePDF
In a "gotcha" moment, CBS's Bob Schieffer asked the big question last Sunday, which must be on the mind of every left wing journalist who fears President Obama may not be re-electable.

Schieffer to Michele Bachmann: "Do you believe God uses weather to send messages?" Schieffer was, of course, referring to comments made by candidate Bachmann recently following storms and earthquakes, asking her audience how much more God is going to have to do to get some politician's attention.

She told Schieffer she was "speaking metaphorically," but that she is "not ashamed to say publicly that she believes in God."

All this got me wondering as well. Not so much whether God uses natural phenomenon to send messages---I know the answer to that, but how did CBS get to the point where their main guy is groveling, on camera, trying to make a female Christian candidate look silly and simple?

Since I'm not running for political office, and even if I was, the answer would be, "Yes, Mr. Schieffer, He does, unless, of course, you dismiss the Bible as myth and fable." "And," I would continue, "there have been known consequences for not getting the message."

And there have always been those who dismiss God's Word. I am certain there were those folks who partied on when the temperature began to rise in Sodom and Gomorrah, thinking it was something to do with global warming. I also suspect there were those who watched the water rise, while cursing Noah, saying had he not built the big boat none of this would have happened, promising to call FEMA first thing in the morning and demand help---NOW!

Exodus 19 and 20 gives graphic description of weather phenomenon related to Moses receiving the Ten Commandments, with God using weather related activity to both communicate with people and authenticate Moses to the people.

When Christ was crucified, the New testament account in Matthew says the sky turned dark in the middle of the afternoon and Christ's death was marked by an earthquake. Then, the Record says, "Darkness came over the land."

Followers of Christ were released from prison as a result of an earthquake.

I'm wondering, will Bob Schieffer and CBS ask President/candidate Obama the same generic questions? The President claims to be a Christian. He claims to believe the Bible. Does he believe Jonah was really swallowed by a whale? Does he believe in Noah's Flood as described in the Bible? Does God use weather to send messages? What about earthquakes? Does the President believe in hell and Heaven? Does he believe in the bodily resurrection of Jesus Christ? What about Christ's Atonement for sin? Is it universal? Does evil really exist? Is Jesus the only way to God?

Hopefully they will get to the bottom of all this.

Thank you for supporting this ministry.

Sen Ed Murray, Going "For That Final Piece" -- Marriage

Print Friendly Version of this pagePrint Get a PDF version of this webpagePDF
With the bothersome little steps of incrementalism and the denial that each little step was related to re-defining marriage behind him, Senator Ed Murray, aided by other homosexual Legislators, is ready to, in FOX Q-13's words, fight for "that final piece."

Please take a moment and watch the short interview if you have not seen it.

With an accommodating voting record by several Republicans on their incremental journey toward "marriage," unfailing and vocal support by most all Washington State news organizations and a belief that "post modernism" and "culturally relevant" churches silent on social issues, pastors who publicly criticize those who do take a stand and a changing culture has prepared a good number of Christians to remain silent and not take a stand in defense of natural marriage, Murray says this is the time to re-define it.

He also says this year will be the best year to beat back any referendum attempt once he gets the legislature to approve his "marriage" plan because many Democrats will be voting in the general election to support President Obama. Murray feels they will also support his re-definition of marriage.

And, as he is well aware, he can operate in the chill that the Attorney General McKenna has created toward people of faith signing initiative petitions in defense of marriage, should the Attorney General prevail in the upcoming trial.

Murray says he's already got all but the label. Now he is going for the label---"the final piece."

And he's counting on lawmakers proving to their politically correct constituents that they are fair and are not bigots, while the news media lead the parade.

We are organizing to make our best case against re-defining marriage, both in the legislature and if necessary, with an initiative effort. I will be sharing specific plans soon.

This is a most critical time. We can only stand strong, if you stand with us.

Thank you for your financial support.

McKenna Wins National Award for R-71 Brief

Print Friendly Version of this pagePrint Get a PDF version of this webpagePDF
Washington State Attorney General, Rob McKenna, won a national award for his work in forcing the release of names who signed the R-71 petitions to the homosexual activist groups who are demanding them---who have said publicly they want to have a "conversation" with those who signed.

Although names were sealed to the public in the past in relation to "Hands Off Washington," a homosexual activist organization that feared gay activist members would be harassed, Secretary of State Sam Reed and Attorney General Rob McKenna have worked tirelessly at great public expense to release the names of those pro-marriage citizens who signed the R-71 petitions.

As you know, we have objected, the case has been heard several times and is still pending. The names remain sealed at this time with another trial scheduled later this month.

The national award was given by the National Lawyers Association for "Best Brief" this past year. We only recently became aware of the award.

McKenna said he was proud of his team and "Hart, Collins and Egeler are truly the state's dream team of appellate attorneys."

Larry Stickney, myself and others who have been deposed by the "team" on subjects varying from theological beliefs and personal beliefs about Islam, to the use of benign words on our web site, etc. and a wide range of subjects unrelated, in our opinion, to the R-71 case, have a very different view of the matter. The word "dream" does not come to mind.

On behalf of the 138,000 citizens who signed the R-71 petitions, exercising their right to participate in the election process not knowing they would be "contacted" by homosexual activists for a "conversation," we congratulate the Attorney General for his outstanding work in creating a chill on the initiative process. Particularly within the faith community regarding marriage.

Congratulations.

Rick Perry Signs Marriage Pledge

Print Friendly Version of this pagePrint Get a PDF version of this webpagePDF
Presidential candidate Rick Perry has signed a pledge promising to oppose same-sex "marriage" and advance a constitutional marriage amendment.

Candidates Mitt Romney and Michele Bachmann have also signed the pledge. Other Republican candidates have not signed it.

I wonder if, say, local politicians were asked to sign a similar pledge to support marriage, who would sign it?

Would candidate Inslee sign it? No.

Would candidate McKenna sign it? Who knows?

Would your senator and representative sign it?

If you support marriage and oppose re-defining it, will you vote for a candidate who does not support the most fundamental unit in human civilization---marriage as the union between a man and a woman?

Here's the pledge: Should we expect those in Washington state asking for the conservative, Christian vote to promise to support the spirit and intent of this pledge? Or a similar one? Or should we just vote for the "lessor of two evils?"

Thank you for your support as we defend marriage in Washington State.

Click here to view the Pledge.
